High Priest's Garments Bar Mitzvah Cake
This cake was the process of a year's worth of learning and practice. It served 300 people and had 4 flavors: Chocolate, Vanilla, Lemon and Heavenly Pumpkin Spice (CC recipe). The cake was designed as a table with the table top and garments being removable so it could be used as a decoration at a party that evening as well. Everything was handmade of fondant/gumpaste, molded (scratch made) hard candy, royal icing and painted details. Definitely the most complicated and best work I have done to date.
Just Beautiful. You did a great job. How did you make jewels?
I found a recipe on the web for hard candy, colored each batch to match the right colors and poured them into gem shaped molds. Later I piped the tribe's names on them, and made fondant settings.
Wow Kathi! It turned out so beautiful! The box turned out so good! I am going to post a link to the photo in the original thread so if someone is ever searching they can find it! It is amazing!
