Dahlia Instructions
I just made this one out of straight fondant, so I couldn't roll it as thin as my actual one that I made for the cake. I cut out a circle and then I make another impression with a smaller circle, so that I have a line to make sure that the petals are laid evenly. I cut the petals out (with the larger petal cutter) and roll them thin with a ball tool. I pinch both ends and place them on the circle. The rest of the rows are cut with the smaller cutter. After 3 rows are completed, for the next petals I cut a small amount off of the bottom of the petals for the next row. The last rows I cut off about half of the bottom. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I hope this makes sense. This takes about 15 minutes to do.

Christmas Ornament Cupcakes
I absolutely had to try these cupcakes - no cake pictures have ever inspired me with such ferocity to TRY to make them. I baked the cakes the morning of Dec 24th and decorated between 9-10pm that evening. Given how quickly I did them, I was pleased with the results. I would love to try them again, with more time to decorate. They are sitting in single Wilton cupcake boxes with tissue paper (lid open). I used the Wilton mini ball pan and a standard cupcake, with buttercream between.

What's In The Box?
Gift box cake. Cake is chocolate covered in chocolate buttercream icing. Tissue is fondant. Lid and bow is gumpaste. Gift tag is rice paper. Pansies, rosebuds and violet are royal icing. Lid lifts off To reveal a surprise - a gumpaste orchid. She does not know the sex of the baby so I did the cake in pink and blue.

Baby Shower Cake Displayed At Ices 2005 In New Orleans
I brought this cake to the ICES 2005 convention. It is styrofoam, but made mostly of fondant and royal icing. Had to transfer to 3 planes with it! It was lucky enough to be one of the few cakes published in the American Cake Decorators magazine!

Pbj Sandwich
First ... Thank you to everyone on CC for all the inspiration for this cake. Second ... I LOVE THIS CAKE!!! =) Hahahaha! =) My FIL loves PBJ sammies but has recently developed a severe nut allergy & is no longer able to eat his beloved PBJ. I figured this would be the closest thing to it for him. It is an 8"x2" square cake that I cut & carved to resemble a slice of bread. I then filled the "sandwich" with chocolate vanilla buttercream for the PB & canned cherry pie filling for the jelly. Then all I had to do was cut it in half & it was ready to serve. It tasted absolutely delicious too! So much better than I could have imagined. =)

Baby Bassinett
I did this cake last night for a baby shower. They were supposed to pick it up today at 1:00. But the pregnant lady went into labor and had the baby! Fortunately the father is still comming to get the cake anyway. I'm so glad. I stayed up till 2:30 a.m. to finish it. They say they will freeze it. Does anyone know what might happen to the gumpaste and fondant?
