This is a cake I designed today at work from pictures of a nursery bedding theme. Its for a baby shower. The toppers are made of fondant and painted and the plaid is also painted on.
For my daughter's 4th birthday. She wanted a princess cake. First time making a gumpaste tiara and a pillow cake. She loved it! Chco and yellow cakes, BC icing, MMF on pillow and gumpaste tiara. TFL

I made this cake for a friends daughters 2nd Birthday. She loved it :)
First Bday cake for young lady in San Diego CA. Carriage is styrofoam ball with gumpaste wheels (Wilton 2009 design). Star wand is F/GP mix covered with pink sugar. Story is icing sheet from story sent to me by the bday girl's mother. Gold page edges were done with brushed on dry Super Gold luster dust (tried painting them first and figured out quickly that dry dusting worked better). Used two separate 9 X 13 rectangular pans for the book.
I made this cake for a cute lady who travelled for 4 hours in her car with it. It was made from four of the largest ovals in the wilton pan set. It is one of my favorite baby shower cakes, mainly because it is so soft and not over done. Quite simple really.

My daughter wanted a cake that was different from the norm & asked me if I could make it for her. She wanted it in her wedding colors & fun. I had never made a wedding cake or worked with fondant. So I took a fondant & gum paste class & set off to making this cake. She also wanted it to be a funfetti cake, her favorite. The cake was a hit with everyone.
These tiers are frosted in buttercream, with fondant overlay-- gum paste butterflies and flower. Thanks for looking!!

Everything is cake... except for the glove which is styrofoam and modeling chocolate. There is a central threaded steel pipe and every tier has a pvc sleeve to protect the cake from the metal. The light blue cake is supported by 3" washer and a 16 gauge nut. All the gears are gumpaste (and they turned!) and the lorax tree is gumpaste. Total height is 41".

Another dummy, I try to get several designs out of one dummy, so I took the flowers off the pink wedding cake then stenciled all over with royal and made the shoes, bow , pacifier and candy out of fondant. It could be a challenge to stencil and actual cake. But I am gonna try.
