This was a quick cake for 2 boys. The dinosaur is inspired by one of Debbie Brown's, but I did spikes on the back instead of polka dots. I know it is so simple, but it is one of my favorites! TFL!
This was for a family where 3 of the adults had b-day's. The Golf ball is a 6" cake with 1/2 of the wilton ball pan cake on top. All MMF except the flowers.
Shabby Chic Tiara
This is my other cake entry in the 2008 Arizona Sugar Art show. I won 3rd place with this one!! Woohoo! It was a real honor to place because there were about 20 other fantastic cakes in my division. The tiara is made of RI, and the rest of the cake is fondant and silver dragees. TFL!
This was one of my entries in the 2008 Arizona Sugar Art Show! It was so much fun! The body is 2 6" dummies and the top is a 6" round dummy. The arms are Rice Krispy treats and it is all covered in fondant. I even won 2nd place in the intermediate division! This was my first contest so it was really exciting! Thanks for looking!
Candy Melt Spiderman Cupcakes
The spiderman on these were made using Wilton's candy melts piped on wax paper over a picture of spidey's head. Just simple little cupcakes for a boy in my kids preschool class. Thanks for looking!
This was for my best friend's little boy's 3rd b-day. MMF on the cakes and Wilton used for the details. Fun and easy one! Sorry for the bad pic, I forgot to take a better one.
This was for a man mu MIL works with who was taking a new position. It is a little strange and the pink camo shirt and flamingo are inside jokes. The figurines are all from wilton's premade stuff. Thanks for looking!
This was for a bridal shower. 6" and 9" covered in mmf. I made the simple heart topper out of fondant and painted it with silver luster dust.
Soccer Ball B-Day
I got inspiration for this from several cakes here on CC. It was my first time using the whole ball set (I have used the top half before). I did notice that it was a bad idea to use a fresh fruit filling (choc. covered strawberries) because it caused a buldge that was really annoying. Other than that this was a fun easy one! TFL!
Christmas Cookie Bouquet
Here is one of MANY (ugh!) christmas cookie bouquets. This was a big one! I am glad to be done with these!!! NFSC w/ Toba's Glace and RI accents. TFL!
This was a strange one! A friend wanted a b-day cake for her SIL who loves rottweilers. Since she wanted it on christmas eve, I told her I wasn't up for making a 3-d dog cake so she said okay to a little figure on top. So yeah, here it is.
Tiffany And Co. Box
I made this for a friend today. It is an 8x8 and is supposed to resemble a Tiffany and Co. gift box. TFL!
My dad asked for a cake that he could give to a local cigar bar as a thank you for letting him park it there so often! haha- anyways, here it is. Sorry the picture isn't better, I borrowed my phone to a friend and had to use a cell phone.
This is the first BC cake that I have ever been happy with! I sitll have a long way to go with smothing the bc though. The snowman and tree are fondant, and there was also a little happy birthday sign I put on. TFL!
These are my most favorite cookies ever!! I used a toile stencil w/ RI and it was SOOO easy and fast! TFL!
This was for my dad's best friend who just turned 50! The 3 tiers are 12, 9, and 6". Covered in MMF w/ gumpaste accents. The top is supposed to be a green bay packers guy (b-day boy is a huge fan) and a big screen TV (He sells electronics). I used my airbrush to get that black color- hooray for airbrush machines!!! TFL!
3D Turkey Cookies
Gobble Gobble! Here is my version of a 3d cookie. As far as I know this is an original design. I have been thinking about them for a few weeks and decide to give them a try today. They are a 1 1/2'' base cookie, and then 1 1/2", 1", and 1/2" cookies that I cut off a little of the bottom before baking so that when stacked they would be flat on the bottom. Decorated with open leaf tip and glued (w/ RI) each layer together. I let it dry a few minutes and then stood them on the base cookie. TFL!
I made these late one night for my kids' prechool harvest party. I made 40 total. Very simple, but the kids enjoyed them. They are NFSC w/ Toba's glace, RI leaves and the faces were drawn on with a food marker. TFL!
This was is for a lady my MIL work with who is a huge Philadelphia eagles fan. I made the polks dots and bead border to make it a little more feminine. The helmet is 1/2 a wilton ball cake and a 6", and the bottom layer is 9". All mmf except the face guard, that is gumpaste. TFL!!
This was for a guy I used to work with who just got promoted. He is a big superman fan.. hence the design. =) This was really fun and only took 4 hours from the time I started baking the first cake! yay! 9" and 6", mmf, wilton fondant cape and buildings, RI clouds. Thanks for looking.!
Pink Cornelli Rose
This is my 2nd wedding cake! It was so much fun to make and best of all I didn't run into any problems. It is mmf (half reg mm's and half strawberry to get that color) w/ royal icing cornelli and I got to use my new bead maker for the pearl border. I am SO relieved! I was a little bummed that the bride decided at the last minute to have that cake topper because I think it would have been even more beautiful wit a bouquet of roses, but then I have to remind myself that it is her cake not mine. =)
