Homemade pizza on the same yeast bread as the rolls were made from. Kids are having cheese and smoked bacon pizza. Husband is having half of a pizza with orange sauce with chicken and the other half with BBQ sauce chicken and smoked bacon with basil.

I'm having salad more than likely. Oh joy, salad. icon_wink.gif

All 4 kids are in school this year and I think the homework and speech work may kill me yet.

mlkolmar - how far are you from watertown? (you are in WI aren't you, if i'm remembering wrong then ignore this!) If you're not far then i'm coming over for dinner next time i visit family up there, you're making me hungry and i just ate!

Tonight was mac n cheese, carrots, and strawberries. Just me and my daughter eating so something quick and easy. I dont' want my little man to grow up quickly, but i can't wait until i can cook one meal and feed us all at the same time, he always seems to get hungry when we're eating (and it doesn't matter what time he last ate) so it's a little difficult nursing, feeding my daughter and eating myself. i'm getting better though LOL.

Woo-woo date night. Hope you had a great time Leily.

Dinner tonight was leftovers.
Having to start plowing my way through the freezer to try to use up what we have to save some $$$ and also so I can clean it.
I have a list on my fridge of everything in the freezer and how many of it is on hand. I also mark the dates on the items when I buy them. Keeps me organized better.

We did have a good time on date night, ended up going to menard's of all places and then a movie. I can officially say i definitely feel like a parent now when our date nights consist of grocery shopping or going to menard's to get supplies for house projects LOL.

I'm going to be doing this soon too, i started making my list already. I figured i'd be coming on here to ask some ideas on how to use some of it b/c we purchased a meat bundle a few months ago and there is some stuff i just don't cook that often, or at all. So i guess to get it started

Any ideas for Baby Back ribs? I know i could throw them in a crock-pot with BBQ sauce, but can only do that one so many times.

Your dinner sounds awesome, kakabekabunny! It's making me ansy for Thanksgiving here in the States. I absolutely love the Holiday Season. For the most part, people are nice to each other and there is generally a good vibe no matter where you go.

Leily...Its good to hear that you had a good date night.

Dinner for me was Beef bourgouinne over egg noodles and smokey serrano-garlic-cheddar biscuits.

Have a great night!

The weather turned cool again. Last night I made white chicken chili. First time making it, I pulled a recipe off the internet. It turned out pretty good. Everyone said they would eat it again. I like adding a new soup to our menus.
Hope all are well.

Tonight was baby spinach salad, Italian breaded chicken breasts, rice, seasoned green beans, sweetened acorn squash and French bread.

I don't like how the cold weather is starting to move in. I prefer warmer temperatures. Although eating chili and soups when it's cooler out is easier than when it's in the 90's. HA!

last night we had an impromtu Date "afternoon" Had to go to town to get the motorcycle worked on and do some shopping so grandma came to watch the kids. So last night we had Granite City, i had the Bedda Chedda Burger, waffle fries, and their awesome Granite City dip.

And the rest of this week i will be on my own since my BF went out of town this morning for work. And what a week to do it. We got bugs in our kitchen (the little grain ones that like flour, cereal, etc..) so yeterday bought all new containers for that type of stuff and now i get to start packing up our kitchen (i've found them in other cupboards) I love my big kitchen, but now that I have to empty all the cupboards i'm not so sure about it.
Plus I have about 10 centerpieces that i need to make with cupcakes and sugar cookies for a St Jude fundraiser on Saturday. So it should be interesting. But hey, at least it gives me a chance to rearrange my kitchen like i've wanted to do. And I may start to weed out items that i haven't used in the last two years we've lived here. The bugs could have just waited until early november when i have a little bit more time and it fits in my schedule better LOL.

Hey Ladies,

Its been crazy busy in my neck of the woods. Hope that all is well with my tablemates. There are sooo many conflicting emotions running through me right now. You see, most of my family members are crazy and have done me extremely foul. However, I have always had the unique gift of empathy. Many of the tyrants who made my life a living Hell growing up are now aging significantly. Some....their health is failing. Many family members almost destroyed my life...some out of ignorance, others with directed malice. However, my heart still goes out to some of them. You see, I grew up in the ghetto and I realize that conditions weren't the best for any of them so they took things out on me, a child, who couldn't speak up or defend herself. This is always the pattern with abuse....it takes the path of least resistance...landing on the youngest or the weakest.

I originally told my mother that if she was going to have Thanksgiving dinner here at our house, I was going to act a fool but my plans have changed. I am actually going to help prepare, if not do the entire meal myself. As much Hell as I have been through and as much loss as I have suffered at the hands of my mother, her sibs, and the rest of the family, I realize their frailty in their old age. As much as they have hurt me....I don't like seeing anyone frail or broken.

I was born with an empathetic nature but I am learning the art of forgiveness.

Dinner for me was lemon artichoke pasta.

Have a great night!

Lita, good for you! This is only my opinion...it sounds to me like you can either be a victim or a survivor. Sounds to be like you have chosen to be a survivor, bigger than others hurtfulness. I do know that what they have done to you will always be with you, just not define you! As my husband says....don't let the bastards win! icon_wink.gif
I also have a tender heart just like you, sometimes it's a blessing and sometimes it doesn't feel like it, but it is who I am. (((((HUGS))))))

I also will be cooking Thanksgiving dinner. I would like to change up a few things, but I can just hear my family flipping out! As we always have the same foods. I guess they call that tradition. Actually, I'm ok with that. I look forward to hearing about what all others are having.

Last night I made Italian sausage stew. It was so warm and yummy!

Thank you, Ohara. I could tell that you are good people icon_smile.gif . I am choosing to be a survivor. God will take care of those who hurt me. Not to get all biblical but...vengeance is mine says the Lord. I'm not worried about it anymore. Holding on to anger and bitterness doesn't help anyone, anyway. I admit that it is easier to forgive some than others. Its a daily process that I will have to work at for days to come.

Like you, I am excited to hear what everyone is going to make this Thanksgiving. My menu is not complete but I have an idea. I just have to decide how to put a contemporary spin on the old time favorites.

Have a great day!

Yesterday was turkey with roasted parmesian cauliflower, honey glazed buttered carrots and grilled artisan bread. My daughter made a little chocolate box mix cake and sprinkled it wit powdered sugar for dessert.

Tonight was red roasted bell peppers, basil, marinara sauce, a little red pepper flakes, cracked pepper, garlic with mozzarella sandwich that was on buttered and grilled artisan bread. Tomato-basil soup. Leftover turkey from the night before.

Hope everyone is doing really well.

Hope that all is well with everyone! I've been crazy busy with work, baking, and life...as I am sure all of you are, too. Is everyone one getting ready for Holiday Season 2010? I know that Halloween hasn't passed yet but its never too early to start planning icon_wink.gif I can't wait to hear your menus.

Tonight I had some left over beef stew with cheddar bacon biscuits from yesterday's dinner.

The night before last was grilled chicken breast and salad with Pomegranet Vinegarette.

Y'all have a great night!
