Love the name and the history behind it Leily. ow's the baby and his big sister doing? As well as you and your boyfriend?

We've had a lot of family lately visiting and have more coming this weekend. Out of the last 5 weeks we've had family in town for 4 of them.
I've cooked beef tenderloin with coconut rum covered pineapple, smashed potatoes with sour cream mixed in and seasoning, sauted green beans, cheese bread, tiramisu, homemade ice creams and apple pie, pasta, baked chicken, baked beans, cornbread. There's more but I can't think of it at the moment.

Last night we had pizza, cheese bread and cinnamon sticks. Way to hot to cook. Tonight is left over pizza. I might make some chocolate cinnamon ice cream for the kids though.

Everyone's dinners sound delish. Mkolmar...you must have been reading my mind. I am going to make ice cream for the first time tomorrow. I've had a Cuisinart Ice Cream maker for over 2 years but never used it icon_redface.gif . I'm going back and forth on whether to make regular chocolate custard or Butter Pecan (even though I am leaning heavily towards the Butter Pecan). Everyone cross their fingers for me icon_lol.gif

looks like i'm not the only one busy the last few weeks icon_smile.gif Everyone is doing good here overall, lack of sleep on my part and my BF's part but that is to be expected. It's not as much of a shock this time around since we haven't been getting full nights sleep for the last year and a half, but we're both looking forward to a few months down the road when we only get woken up once or twice a night instead of 5-6 icon_smile.gif Our little one is sleeping well, but usually he wakes up when his sister goes to sleep, go figure icon_smile.gif

I really can't tell you what we've been eating hehe... today i forgot lunch and for dinner got half of a grilled cheese sandwhich. I should go get something but instead sitting here with a little boy sleeping on my lap and reading CC icon_smile.gif My BF's family has come over the last two weekends and we've grilled out.... well they've grilled and brought all the food, we just provided that plates, cups, and silverware.... so that is my kind of cooking icon_smile.gif

Hope everyone is keeping cool and having a fun summer so far, can't believe it's almost half over already.

oh and on the homemade icecream front... i can't WAIT to make some this summer. I have stayd away from it for the last couple of summers because of being pregnant, but i can finally have it again. So making good old vanilla here in a couple of weeks icon_smile.gif but if you guys have any other flavors you want to share i'm more than willing to try something new. Fruit is in season here now so was thinking of trying a cantalope one too. (we have the best cantalope ever here!!)

The list could go on and on.

Pinto beans, collard greens, corn bread, watermelon, mashed potatoes with gravy, corn casserole with cheese, pork roast with apples, Stout cupcakes and banana cupcakes.

mkolmar - one of these days we're going to have to plan a Dinner at your house with the whole table. That sounds sooo goood!!

Do you ship? You should seriously consider it... i would order any of the meals you've written (expecially this month with little time to cook)

Well, Ladies....I decided to make a Watermelon-Chocolate chip sorbet instead of Butter pecan or chocolate custard. On the first attempt, I was defeated by the heat and humidity in my kitchen (we don't have AC in the kitchen and its separate from the dining room by a wall and a small door)...the bowl of the ice cream maker defrosted before the sorbet was frozen. It was close to 100 degrees outside that day. So...I tried again the next day (in the dining room this time where there is an AC) and it came out great. I'm so psyched...I'm ready to try a whole bunch of flavors now icon_biggrin.gif .

Great to hear that all is well in everyone's homes and lives.

Dinners have been all over the place....nothing too fancy.

Have a great night!

I wish I could Leily. I always take my pregnant friends out to eat at a fancy restaurant or I prepare a fancy meal for them at least once before delivery. I make sure to drop off meals afterward also. Really does help.
I also do special things buy them a massage or watch their other kids so they can enjoy some time alone or with their partner.

If I lived even within a few hours away of you I would drive and make you a meal.

Lita- the watermelon Ice cream sound fabulous. I make watermelon soup and it's so refreshing. In an ice cream must be just beyond great.

GOOD NEWS!!!!! MI just passed the cottage food law. I can go back to selling again. YEAH!

Hope that all is well with my tablemates icon_smile.gif . Congrats on the passing of the cottage law in your state, Mkolmar!!!! I know that you must be thrilled to be able to sell again. Will you be able to ship to other states for payment? I am not that familiar with the cottage laws in any state. How does it work?

I know how Ohio's cottage food law works, but not MI's. I'll have to sift through the bill to read up on it.

Tonight was savory turkey breast with rice, artisan bread, sliced fresh pineapple, brown sugar and buttered acorn squash plus macaroni and cheese.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has been crazy busy. My work schedule changed to 7:30 AM-6:00 PM and it is seriously kicking my butt! I finally had a chance to cook some meals yesterday. I'm sure DH is glad he won't have to root around the kitchen for dinner this week.

Last night was tortilini with spicy tomato sauce. It is finally getting warm enough to enjoy ice cream around here and Lita your watermelon sorbet sounds really good. I might have to give that a try.

Leily, I'm so glad you and the baby are doing well.

mkolmar, Yea!!!! I am so jealous. I wish CO would pass a similar law.

Hope everyone has a fabulous day!

yum, you're so creative in the kitchen, mkolmar. Wish I was as good a cook. All we had for supper tonight was pork steak with mushroom & onion gravy, baby roasted potatoes & corn on the cob. The humidity was down today, so decided to cook for a change, lol

Now that meal sounds good to me.

Tonight was a simple salad from the garden with pecans, dried craisins and fresh peach slices.
The kids had sandwiches and crackers.

Kind of hot today and I wasn't in the mood to cook.
We just got done burning off a few packs of sparklers and now are having popcorn while watching kids cartoons.
Then off to bed with the lot of us.
Have a great night!

Hi all,,,,just back from a weekend trip to Minneapolis. Found a cute little cake decorating shop and picked up a few things. Will definately be going back.

So anyway,,,pigged out all weekend (of course, lol) went to Red Lobster for their Crab Trio combo, and to "Craves" for sushi, and The Rainforest Cafe for mahi mahi. The food alone is worth a trip back, lol

Dinner was grilled chicken with a salad. Tonight we are having a birthday party for friends who are staying here for a short while, so we are having spaghetti.

Hope all are well, ((((((HUGS))))) to all!

Dinner last night was grilled steaks, sweet corn on the cob, roasted little red potatoes, and a mixed green salad.

Tonight we will have left overs, as they are piling up, and I don't want them to go to waste.

School started today. It always makes me sad. I enjoy my time while she is away, but I so, so like the casual days of summer.
She was very excited about going today. She loves school.

I hope to be able to stop in more often now that our lives are back "on schedule". I miss all my table friends. I hope you are all well.

Hi everyone, Hope all's well with you.

Suppers have been kind of casual around here. Last night was creamed asperagus on toast with chicken breast and oriental coleslaw. Tonight we're having a good ol' Uke special, perogies, garlic sausage and sourkraut.

School doesn't start until Sept 7 here, so have another week that my granddaughter can visit with Nana. yeh!!

Hello Tablemates! I'm happy to see that the table is getting in full swing again....I was getting a little worried icon_wink.gif . I see why you all were so busy. I've just been busy with work, baking, and taking care of my dog. Everyone's dinners sound awesome. My dinners have been pretty boring but the highlights have been...

Yankee pot roast with carrots over asiago cheese grits
Grilled chipolte chicken with grilled smoked zucchini
Deep dish 4 cheese pizza
Garlic parmesean fettuccini
Stouffer's Mac and Cheese (I had to work) then tangine chicken with lemon and olives, apricot couscous, and almond cake....from a cookbook club class at work. I highly recommend this cookbook (New World Kitchen from William-Somona). The recipes are phenomenal.

Y'all have a great night. Now that my belly is full...I am going to sleep VERY well icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

Tonight was chicken corde en bleu, seasoned green beans, roasted red skinned potatoes, sliced peaches and artisan bread. My daughter said it the ham and cheese would have been better but the chicken ruined it. Critics, can't please everyone.

Lita -- your meals still sound good to me too.

Now I'm getting ready to try a buttermilk cake recipe. Hope you are all well.

Dinners for me have been:
Ham, spinach, and goat cheese fritatta
French Onion Soup and Oriental Chicken Salad (from Applebee's). The dinner was really good. The salad had an interesting flavor.

Hope that all is well with everyone. Have a great night!
