Lildeby---I was posting at the same time as you so I didnt read about your problems...I hate it that you are getting the run around. My bf & my bff have had back surgery and have problems from time to time so I know how you are feeling.

I know this may sound strange but what kind of shoes do you wear? There was a thread on here about that topic and most everybody said they wear Crocs and how much it helps their legs and back. Hope you feel better!!!

Thursday clicks are done!

lildeby, sorry you are having such a hard time. I'd check into the shoes too, they can make a major difference for your whole body. Can you get a second or third opinion from other doctors who believe you require surgery? Sometimes that will force the insurance company to pay for it.

Have a great day, ya'll.

I cannot believe it's Thursday. I'm running outta weekdays!

It's so funny you mention Crocs. I hated them when they first came out -- thought they were really ugly. I now have 4 pairs! They sure make walking easier. Plus I love all those darn decorative "buttonhole" gizmos you put on them.

lildeby, I'm sorry to hear about the impending back surgery. Hopefully goodness will prevail and you'll get your day.

Chins up ladies!

Yes I wear crocs. I have 7 pair of them...even furry ones for winter time!I wear them alot because it hurts so bad to bend down and tie my shoes! icon_cry.gif If I need to wear tennis shoes for some reason tho I have a pair of breast cancer new balance. So cute with thier little pink ribbons on them. For the most part I am a hillbilly at heart and I don't wear shoes if I don't have to.
Ohara how is the baby doing?I meant to ask but don't want to be nosy...why do you have the baby? What did the mommy do to it?Did she just give it up or was it worse than that?

Good Morning ladies. Wow...how did we get to Friday already? We had awful weather the first of the week...but yesterday, today and tomorrow are all beautiful. Then back to rain....oh well. I'll enjoy it today and tomorrow.

lildeby....the baby is doing well. No abuse happened to him....he came to me right from the hospital. His mom is young, he is not her first, and she is currently homeless, as well as several "other" issues that she has to overcome. A very sad story...they all are.
The one thing that I have learned over the last 14 years of doing this is that most of the people we work with are suffering from "generational" issues. Poor parenting skills, poverty, drugs, physical and sexual abuse....
I'm not saying that it doesn't make me mad or that they have an excuse because it seems to "run" in their family.....I'm just saying that it's hard for people to be something that they have never seen.
I do get frustrated and mad with some of them....but most just make me sad. Like the mother I'm working with right now. She could be my daughter (about the same age)....she has no family to support her, two kids, no job or job skills, no housing, mental health issues, and that's only part of her story. Very sad! I don't know how anyone overcomes all those things?! Sorry...can you tell that it frustrates me? It's hard to feel sorry, mad, sad, frustrated all at the same time and make any sense out of it.

Hondydukes....my new bike is a pretty flag blue. I am hoping to get to take a ride today...maybe this afternoon. Something to look forward to!

Janice...did you go to your mothers with your SIL? I hope that you got to go and that you weren't in too much pain to enjoy your visit.

Kly....any big plans for your weekend? Will you be off since you worked last weekend? I hope you get to enjoy outside this weekend.

I don't get a chance to post every day....but I do read each day and enjoy and look forward to each of your posts! It's nice to know that you are all there.
Have a great day friends.

Ohara---what a wonderful thing you do. I agree I don't know how you handle all the emotions that come along with it.

Jan---you are pretty quite this morning icon_confused.gif You okay???

Let's see this weekend I do have to work today and tomorrow but off Sunday. We have a ton of orders for today and tomorrow plus I have a wedding cake for Sat. and 100 cupcakes with rosebuds on them for another wedding.

BUT, I do have someting fabulous to look forward to...We are taking a trip to Savh in 30 days, yes I'm counting the days icon_lol.gif I'm so excited!!! Ohara I do understand all of that and the emotion. I want to do the foster parent thing I just don't know if I could hold my tongue! I understand the "generational" thing and feel for theese mommies that fall into that rut but at the same time...
I too enjoy the friends I have made here and look so forward to logging in every day!
Kly I am so excited for you to get to go to GA!! I love savannah. My husband and I stayed there awhile. We went on business but the rest of the trip was amazing as well!
My DD is coming to visit from GA this weekend!! Looking forward to seeing her!The visit will be short tho they are just coming sat to pick up some of thier stuff and heading home on sun. icon_cry.gif I miss her but am very proud of her for going out and standing on her own 2 feet!

Hi ya'll. I'm here, I am okay, but kinda depressed. I didn't go with my SIL after all, for many reasons I won't go into now.
I just felt like all of us would be better off if I stayed at home.

I fear that I am truly getting old, and I don't like it!

We've got stormy weather upon us for today. Did you see on the news about the hail in Lubbock that looked like snow? Hope we don't get any of that!

Hope you all have great weather so you can do your outdoor activities, and have a great weekend.

VJ, I am so sorry to hear you didn't go on your trip. Hope things get better.

Kly how fun! I've never been to Georgia -- always wanted to go to Atlanta, not sure why, it just sounds exciting. But Savannah is on the coast, yes? Bet it's beautiful.

Glad your daughter's visiting, lildeby. Have a great time.

O.k. ladies, all this talk about visits and trips has me thinking. If you could go anywhere, where would you go?

1. One week with a decent budget --
a. In the U.S.
b. Anywhere in the world.

2. One week with unlimited budget --

Honeydukes- atlanta is a beautiful city from a far but to me it is just a dirty city. Maybe because I grew up there. They have alot of things to do though. Even a new aquarium. (I haven't been but heard it was cool.)
Veejay- I am so sorry you didn't get to go on your trip! icon_cry.gif Maybe you will have another chance soon.
Kly be sure to think of us while you are in Savannah... have you ever been to Tybee Island? Gorgeous!!!
ok Ohara lets see... limited in U.S. - I would say yellowstone national park Inthe world ... Australlia
unlimited in U.S.- i would travel the entire mid north west- parks, desserts, old mining towns, museums ect... there is alot of history there I would love to see. unlimited budget in the world... I would go to Ireland and scotland! The countrysides the churches, old castles, the coast I could go on forever!!! It is so beautiful there!

Hope the kitty is okay and feeling better, K'ly!

Well, ladies, my 94 year old mother is in the hospital for treatment of depression, and will have to be there for at least 3 weeks. She has dementia, and some days she sits and cries all day, most of the time doesn't recognize her husband of 20 years and when she does know him, she doesn't like him. So sad that she can't be happy for whatever time she has left to be on this earth.

Janice I am so sorry!! I can only imagine how hard that is for you, as well as her. You are right....so very sad! Watching our loved ones struggle is the worst thing!
Your story brings such mixed emotions for me...On one hand you are having to watch your mother go through this....and on the other had....you have your mother! I lost mine when I was only 38. And even then I had to watch her suffer till the end. Again I am so sorry. They seem like such hallow words, but know that they come with much sincerity. ((((HUGS)))))
You aren't alone....we are all here for you! Thanks for sharing...I know it was hard for you.

Oh VJ like Ohara said... I am so sorry!! I know typing it seems really insincere, but as she said the utmost scincerity is behind it. I guess I am lucky I still have my mom in good health. I can't imagine the pain of watching her digress into old age. I know that depression is very common in the elderly especially when you factor in dementia but that doesn't make it easier to deal with.LOVE AND ((((HUGS)))) my thoughts are with you. I wish there was something I could do or say to help.

Seems most of us agree that an unlimited budget would lead us all to Ireland! (for that matter limited to australlia!) I wonder if that is the power of suggestion or do we really have that much in common? VJ I know you have better things on your mind but taa minute and answer...let your mind free of your worries for a min and fantasize!!!

Jan---As the others have stated I too am very sorry about your Mom. I wish I was there to give you a big hug and let you know we are here for you even at a distance.

Rascals is doing okay...thankyou all for asking. He has an upper respiratory infection. He's 14yo and already has bad kidneys so this is just one more thing. But he's a spunky kitty so he will be fine.

Lildeby---I noticed that about Ireland also. Just one more thing we have in common.

One year ago today I found out I had cervical cancer! I can't believe a year has gone by so quickly!

VJ- is the fact of your mother being ill putting any extra strain on your SIL? I hope that they will be able to find some medication th help make her life a little more plesant(?)did I spell that right?

Kly- It sure sounds like your kitty is feisty and well taken care of! You don't find many 14 yr old cats. People think that pets are disposable and don't take care of them so they can live long and healthy. But what do you expect in a world where people have come to think of thier own children that way?

Sorry mini rant! A man on the news held his 4 yr old daughter's foot to a hot stove burning her so bad she had to be hospitalized-shock and infection- and says he was teaching her a lesson!! OOOOOOOOOO that makes me mad!!! What kind of lesson could he have POSSIBLY been teaching that baby?!!!!!!!
