Hello Ladies and Good Morning to All!!! I've missed ya'll this week, but it was one busy week for me.

I had to take my Serv-Safe class and test on Monday, then off to a 2 day food show Wednesday and Thursday. Not to mention keeping up with all my normal paperwork and employee stuff.

Sunday is usually my only day off, so I plan to spend most of it in the yard today. Bought lots of stuff to plant...hopefully the ever adventurous puppies won't dig up everything icon_lol.gif

Jan---I'm glad your week is looking up. So glad for you that your Mom sounded good!!!

Ladies---let's up keep our chins up that this new week will be a good one. New jobs, good health and lots of love for all!!! K'ly

I wish I had a green thumb. No talent whatsoever in gardening. It doesn't help that crawly, wingy, buggy things creep me out. Our vast knowledge begins and ends with mowing and spraying weeds. My DH had promised that this year we'd have our neighbors' guy come and put in a flower bed. With things being tight, I just don't see that happening. icon_sad.gif Is it too late to plant seeds? I've always wanted a tiny little herb garden in the back.

Have a good week everybody!

Honeydukes---It is a little late for seeds, but you can still plant the herbs you want, just buy the plants themselves. That was one thing I planted yesterday. I have this huge container that has 8 separate spots to plant in and that's what I put my herbs in. Herb gardens are so pretty and smell so good too!!!

Well, I must tell ya'll I had plenty of help with my planting yesterday!!! 6 dogs, yes 6 icon_eek.gif Does that count as a herd icon_lol.gif Let's see, there were the 3 puppies Rizzo, Sandy & Frenchie, my 2 adult dogs, Belle and Matilda and my daughters 3-legged dog Pup that I'm puppy-sitting.

They were worn-out at the end. What with all the equipment they drugg around the yard, chasing the 4-wheeler and carrying sticks, what would you expect??? I'll tell you, a nice nap in my freshly tilled flower beds icon_cry.gif Thank goodness I only planted bulbs there for now.

Well, I must get ready for work. I'm going in a little late today.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Monday!!! Clicks done...

Its been very windy here for a couple of days and today we are getting some stormy weather moving through. Have a good Tuesday ya'll.

I bought more plants to plant yesteday including 2 enormous Sweet Olive Bushes. If you have ever smelled one of these you know what I mean when I say they are heavenly thumbs_up.gif Not a pretty bush at all, but those little white flowers put off an intense smell.

The size I bought normally run about $75-90 per bush but the sweet lady at the greenery we shop at sold them to me for for $35 each icon_eek.gif I couldn't pass that up. She wanted them out because they are getting so big, lucky me icon_razz.gif

I have a neighbor who does that! They line the walkway up to her door, and you can't tell from the street at all. I have really considered it just to add a little color to the yard. It looks so gloomy.

I am feeling much better today! At about 9 last night Ethan's dad called and said he needed a break and could I take him for a few days!So now I'm in the L/R watchin cartoons with ETHAN!!! I have missed him so but his dad is gonna have to realize I am NOT his full time care giver and that he is gonna have to take care of his son... it's ok to bring him for 2-3 days but not for the entire week he has visitation! It is his son and when Ethan comes here he doesn't even call to check on him!So I have mixed feelings anger frustration w/dad and sheer joy w/ Ethan!!
Kly do you live anywhere near where that tornado hit last night? I hope not I hope you are far away from the damage!I am a little scared cause all that weather will be moving toward my daughter today. Hope she stays safe!
Our rain has hit too!!Seems like the whole country is raining! I was watching the news and they were in Fargo,N.D. and showed a picture of elementry school kids in thier coats and mittens passing sand bags to block the flooding, Well I just burst into tears thinking about all those kids trying to help protect thier homes and the devastation that this flood will cause! Why don't parents take thier children and leave?? This is not just a flood but the waters are estimated to be 30 degrees or less! If you don't drown you will freeze!!! OK sorry about the rant!

Did anyone see that awful story on the news this morning about the Huston football player?Poor man! Seems he was rushing his wife to the hospital because they they were called and told his mother in law was losing her battle with breast cancer and ran a red light. He was pulled over in the hospital parking lot and the cop refused to let him go in till he was done writting the ticket. Even the nurse came out and said we are losing her right now she will not be able to hold on. The wife got to go up but the husband never made it because the cop was upset about the man's attitude about getting a ticket!!!!How appalling!! What a power trip that officer must have been on!The whole incident was caught on video! How would he have felt if that had been his mother? My heart goes out to the family!
We have a break in the rain until later tonight so gotta run some errands now while I can do it and be dry!

I saw that story almost immediately after it happened since it was local for me. That policeman is in so much trouble, and I hope he gets his sorry butt kicked from here to Timbuktu.

I've only seen/heard one comment to support the cop's stand, saying we'd all be reacting differently if there had been an accident when the football player ran that red light The video shows plainly that he stopped, and only proceeded when he could see the street was clear.

Several people tried to reason with him, but he was like a dog with a bone and wasn't about to let it go. IMHO he should have been fired immediately, if for nothing else, not at least going into the hospital with these people to verify what they were saying instead of arguing as he did!

Some of the Dallas policemen seem to think they can do anything they please and get by with it, sure hope this one doesn't.

Ohara, so sorry your son got hurt, especially on spring break, really makes it a bummer. Lildeby, glad you are getting to enjoy Ethan, but have to agree with you that his dad shouldn't put him off on you permanently, he needs to be the dad and take care of his son.

Thanks for asking, lildeby, but it is not good news about SIL, doctor told her last week the cancer has spread to several other areas. icon_cry.gif She is trying to set up a leave of absence from work, in order to be caregiver for my mother, that will also give SIL a chance to rest and take better care of herself. She is convinced she can heal herself. icon_confused.gif

DB says he pretty much has to go along with her, he can't MAKE her have treatments or surgery, just has to support her in her choices. I don't know whether to believe that she really thinks she can heal herself, or if it is just so bad she has given up and will use this time to do what she can for mother. They have been wanting to fix up their house, new carpet, paint, etc., and he says she is planning to do that too. I just don't know about all this, but then it isn't up to me. Please keep up your prayers, we sure do need them!

Hope everybody makes it through this weekend of what appears to be bad weather. Keep warm and dry, and take good care of yourselves.

We only saw bits and pieces of the story at first and it sounded like the cop had reason to be upset. Someone speeding and runs a red light late at night would make anyone nervous. (As someone who was hit by a red light runner, I have no tolerance for that. My guy slowed down, too, but that didn't make my broken ribs and collarbone feel any better!) We caught the last bit of the video and it looked like people were jumping out of the vehicle and going towards the cop (BIG no-no). It wasn't until we saw the whole video that we realized they were coming from the hospital. And then you hear the conversation??!! What an a**hole! "I'll take you to jail for running a red light!" You shouldn't speed or run lights, but they were at the hospital and the nurses verified what was happening -- for gosh sakes have a little compassion. It makes me crazy when these stories pop up. You never know if you're hearing the whole thing. We totally sided with the police (family members in blue!) and then the rest comes out. The cop should've been fired. Someone with that temperament should not be in a position of authority.

Ohara, my grandmother says when something like that happens it's because you were about to be up to no good. icon_lol.gif I'm sorry it happened at all, but wow, what terrible timing. He wasn't going anywhere special was he?

lildeby, glad to hear you're getting a little Ethan time. How are you holding up? When doctors say to give something that's hurting you a "little time" I think of a coach telling you to walk it off or rub some dirt on it. Cause, that's always helpful. icon_rolleyes.gif

VJ, maybe the time off will do your SIL some good.

Thanks for asking honeydukes! I am feeling better but my time with Ethan was not as good as it could have been! I am just glad that I already have pain meds for my back because I don't know if he would have given anything to take at home for pain! DR's here are scared to write pain med prescriptions. We have 3 DRs in this town who have lost thier Narcotics Licenses for writting prescriptions too freely! Of course that is how alot of people get high here. It's a shame that some stupid peoples overuse of pain meds makes it impossible for people who are really in pain to recieve any type of relief! The first 6 months after I hurt myself all anyone would give me is tylenol! When I did finally get meds I had to sign a contract that said I wouldn't share or sell them and I have random drug testing and pill counts!! I guess it's what they have to do to protect themselves but what a hassle!
OHARA I am sorry your son broke his foot! I know Amber(my DD) is starting to show signs of her asthma-she will probably be sick all of spring break! So tell your son he is not the only one who's spring break will suck! LOL!
VJ maybe your SIL just needs some time! If she has resigned herself to the fact that this is it than maybe she just needs support to take care of things the way she wants before her time is done. Or maybe she just wants things done before she commits to treatments that are gonna make her sick and render her useless for awhile. Who knows but I will keep her in my prayers and hope for the best.

Sorry Ladies, Lildeby and I have to talk racing for a sec...I'm not much of a Jeff Gordan fan either, but he is very charitable when it comes to children. I know there's a children's hospital in NC that is named after him. That was a very sweet thing he did for your niece thumbs_up.gif

Mark Martin wrecked his car during PRACTICE, so that put him at the back of the race. I'll have to be rooting hard for him today icon_lol.gif
