I forgot to tell you all...my dear SIL has stage 4 breast cancer. She has known now for about a month. They are recommending surgery, and then I suppose treatments, but she doesn't want the surgery at all.

I feel like it is probably her only option, but DB says she told him if she is going to die anyway, why go through the surgery.
A good question, I guess.

She keeps everything to herself (as I mentioned to you before) and I don't know whether to try to talk to her or not, or if I did, what would I say?

She has survived so many other times from less serious situations, but I'm just not sure she can do it again. She is a strong believer in God, that he can take care of her, so maybe she is right. I hope so, I can't imagine not having her here. Jan

VJ I am so sorry! icon_cry.gif I would at least try to talk to her.Breast cancer doesn't have to be terminal. The suvival rates are phenomenal theese days. Does the dr. say her chances of survival are low?
Even if survival rate is low if there is a chance.... I would talk with every breath I have . I don't know maybe that is selfish but to keep a loved one for just a little longer I would do whatever I could.Sounds like she is a strong woman.... but I would at least try to convince her to have the surgery. If it is meant to be her time then it is her time but I wouldn't let her go out without a fight!
Is her health good otherwise? I just don't know VJ....all I can really say is talk and pray!! I will pray for your SIL and I hope others will do the same.I guess you have to put your faith in God that she will make the decision that is right for her.Best of luck to her and you and your SIL are in my prayers.

Jan---I have to agree with lildeby. My soon-to-be SIL is at the end stages of her treatment and doing fabulous!!! She had a removal, went thru chmo and radiation and never looked better. I know all cases are different, but I'd have to say that although my SIL was sick as he!! she is alive today!!!

I almost forgot to post my clicks this morning.

Thank you all so much for your kind words and prayers, I really do appreciate you all so much, and so glad you are my friends! I'm wishing I could trade places with Peggy, she is such a good person, good to everybody and makes such a difference in this world, while I'm just here, taking up space.

She has been/and is so wonderful, taking care of the needs of my 94 year old mother (who now has major dementia) and my 83 year old stepfather, who live about hundred miles away from all of us. (For those who don't know, my arthritis keeps me from traveling...almost keeps me from walking too, LOL)

DB and SIL went to Oklahoma to a casino over the weekend to celebrate their anniversary, something they both enjoy. They had a good time (but lost a little money at the tables, DB Stan, loves Texas Hold'em and Peggy plays slots.)

Okay, I'll shut up. Thanks so much for being there!

AWWWW..Kly you went with a grease theme!! That is great! One of my all time favorite movies!!!! The names fit the puppies too!
VJ I am sure you do more in this world than take up space.Every person changes the lives of the people they come in contact with in some way.I find it hard to believe from talking with you that you just take up space. That would be a good arguing point for your SIL though what would people do without her?! I hope she truly does decide to at least try the surgery.
It is going to be beautiful here today.Trying to think of what I can do to get me outside. Still a little too cold to hit the lake. I have spring fever bad! I went yesterday and started refreshing my camping supplies! I can't wait camping w/ my DH is like staying at an outdoor Hilton!

They have some really cute stuff. When you get your package, everything is beautifully wrapped. One girl said it was like shopping at a Cake Boutique. Some things have a higher mark-up than other supply stores, but they do have lots of one-of-a-kind items.

Once again, I have to say thank you all for being so kind and making me feel better.

I spend 99% of my time alone, CC is my "social activity" and I have very little physical activity. Because of this stupid arthritis I do well to manage meals for myself, grocery shopping is possible (about every 3 weeks is all I can manage) because of the electric carts at the store, but anywhere else is just too painful so I don't even try to go. I can't clean my apartment properly, things just have to stay as they are, with a quick run through the middle with the vacuum now and then. This is why I say I am just taking up space.

My DB and SIL live about 25 miles from me, they are busy, and I can no longer even drive that far, so you ladies, my friends, and a few more on CC, are my family, and I do appreciate you all very much.

Enough! K'ly I love the puppies' names, very cute. Lildeby, so glad you are able to get out of the house for a while!
Ohara, hug that precious baby for me. Honeydukes, sounds like you had a party with your package, I love packages!
It is very warm here, about 80 I think, hot enough that I finally had to give in and turn on the AC. Enjoy the warmer weather, all of you!

Yesterday turned out to be a beautiful day! We took the big dogs to the creek. The kids played in the water and hiked around. We all waded. My dog LilGirl kept finding rapids and would jump in and try to attack the water falls! It was so funny! She loves the water but I think it was a little too cold still yet. She was shivering so bad when we got back to the van we had to cover her up with jackets. All in all it was a fun day though.
Nothing like spending the day with the family and seeing the kids get out and exercise!!(instead of sitting on the phone or computer)I have to say it did wear me out. I just can't play like I used too since I hurt my back!
Enough about me! I hope everyone had a wonderful day no matter where you were or what you did!
VJ do you ever just go out and sit in the sun? Or do you need to sit in a certain type of chair? I know arthritis can be very painful and very debilitating.I thought of you yesterday when I was out and wished you could come out and be with us if nothing more than to listen to the creek flow! It's amazing how I find that nature rejuvinates your soul. Then again I guess not everyone feels that way about the outdoors!

We are building a shed for the horses, but heck, that's work icon_razz.gif I wanna play icon_lol.gif I do plan on bathing all 5 dogs today, woo hoo!!!

I must admit, ladies, I'm not much of an outdoors person...I much prefer my air conditioned spaces. LOL

Also, I have a little bit of a problem with agoraphobia/panic attacks, and have a hard time getting myself to go out. That, added to the fact it hurts to go shopping, etc., I really do stay in a large majority of the time.

See, I'm just here, taking up space. I'm just a mess!

Wednesday clicks are done. It is raining here, and that is a good thing because we sure do need it! Of course that also means the temp dropped about 30 degrees since yesterday!

I am sad right now, I just read Barbaranoel's post that her DH passed away yesterday from the brain cancer they only discovered a short time ago.

Along that line, my dear SIL has gone into depression, and doesn't want to do anything about her breast cancer. She won't talk to me, and DB is getting really worried she isn't trying to get better. She usually is a fighter, so this is not at all like her.

Looks like we, CC friends, need prayers all around. I hope all of us will have the opportunity to hug somebody today.

VJ hopefully your SIL will come out of her funk and decide that she needs to do SOMETHING!!! Maybe just every chance you get tell her how much you love and and you don't know what your family would do without her. Eventually the message will start to sink in!Not to say she won't still be depressed.Cancer is a hard thing but even harder when it threatens you femininity.I know I never thought I was an especially feminine person but when they told me I had cervical cancer I felt as if they were taking away my womanhood. How could I continue to be a woman when the very thing that makes me a woman was being taken away?It took a while after surgery to realize that is not what defines me!
I define me daily in my actions and the way I treat others. But the depression is normal and even if those aren't your SIL's exact thoughts I know that deep down she is struggling with an inner issue that really seems silly or like noone willl understand. Bottem line for me was I had to work it out internally to prepare for the fight ahead. I have confidence that your SIL will work it out and come through with flying colors!(I pray this is how it will all play out for you and your family!)
Ladies have a good day! Gettin cold again today. BRRRR!

I, too love hearing from everyone. I don't get out much and my circle of friends is very small. But it's grown electronically just of late and I'm enjoying that.

To me, you just never really know how someone is going to handle such a situation. Maybe the way your SIL is acting is the only way she knows how to cope.

If I were ever faced with a truely life threathing situation I honestly don't know if I would repress myself or live life to it's fullest. Kinda makes my siggy seems wishy-washy...

Let's all keep Jan and her family in our prayers!!!
