Well my daughter made it home safe and sound. She did have a good time, but I'm not sure she is looking to repeat the experience.

Janice, I am soooooo envious of your warm temps. As I type it is 14. The good news is that we are supposed to get up to 50 later in the week. I hope you can get out and enjoy your warm weather.

I know what you mean ohara 18-21 yr olds think they are invincible! When my DD was 19 she said she was going for a "girls night out" and ended up driving 12 hrs to easter island,SC !! In a car with a bad transmission. Just so they could put thier efet in the ocean and turn around and come home! By the time they got home my DD had 20 min to change before going in to work an 8 hr shift!
I tried to tell her being tiered was her problem that I was only upset because of the dangers that she put herself in potential to run into! I got but we didn't we are fine! Mom you need to quit worrying so much nothing bad is gonna happen!
Looks like our temps will be in the 50's later this week too! Come on spring!!! I hope if we do have anymore cold it's not as bad as theese past few days have been!

Clicks for Saturday!

This is getting ridiculous, it was 90 here on Thursday, but started down yesterday and is due to freeze again tonight! I hope you all are getting warmer wherever you are!

On Tuesday when it turned cool again, my heater all of a sudden wouldn't heat, but maintenance fixed it pretty quick. Thursday, very warm, my AC wouldn't cool...go figure! It was late when I figured out it wasn't working, so managed with a couple of fans, knowing it was cooling down again the next day.

They will be here Monday or Tuesday to take care of the AC (it will still be cool by then.) Apartment living isn't great, but it is nice to be able to call someone to come fix what breaks and not have to worry about paying the bill!

Hope you all will have a great weekend!

Just posted a comment on your Nascar cake, lildeby, I think you did a great job. Don't we always feel like we'd like to do the cake different after it is finished? I know I usually do!

Good luck with your cupcakes for today, Honeydukes.

It sure got cold, and the wind is blowing, glad the heater got fixed! Its only 36 right now, sure feels colder with the wind though.

Happy Saturday ya'll.

Hello ladies!!! What a week for us all. This weather is nuts icon_eek.gif I had on shorts earlier this week...now we have SNOW!!! It's crazy, but it is pretty icon_lol.gif

Glad everyone is doing well. I have 3 new additions to the critters in my family. I was looking out the window while talking to my brother on the phone Wednesday and I saw a lady in the road following after something. Well, I was far enough away that I thought she was after one of the dumpster cats (yes I feed). Well she was shooing them out of the road, well I then knew it wasn't the cats because she was way too close to them. As I'm walking to the other side of the yard (outside now) I tell bro. "I gotta go" there's puppies in the road.

To make this much shorter, I now have 3 new puppies. Lab mixes and they are of course just precious. Took them to my vet and had them check out.

I don't know how people can sleep at night doing something so horrible. Dumping these adorable little animals at the dump and driving off. I couldn't possibly leave them to get hit icon_cry.gif

So, I can't think of names for them. It's three girls...2 yellow and one black. One of the yellow ones was apparently the runt. She is much smaller than the other 4...a friend of mine took the other two males.

If ya'll have any name ideas I'd greatly appreciate it.

Oh yeah, clicks done this morning. K'ly

Cute puppies, and lucky puppies to have been "dumped" near you K'ly! I agree, that is so cruel, to just dump them somewhere and not even care what happens to them. They could at least take them to a shelter where they would stand a chance!

Basic name suggestions for those three, Blackie, Goldie and Sandie. You did good, you at least got all three tails in the pic. LOL The one you can see has a really pretty face!

Those four legged bed buddies really help, don't they. My kitty is a great foot warmer! Lildeby, I'm so glad you are enjoying together time with your DH! It got to 29 here last night, but should start warming up today.

Hope all of you are warm.

Awwwww... Kly they are so cute!! I too have a place in my heart for the critters!! If I could afford to feed them and could move well enough to care for them I would take in every stray pup I could find!! I have 5 right now-Big un-Lil' girl-chubs-bella and tiger!! I plan on finding a home for Bella and Tiger but I won't just dump them like some cruel people would!! I guess Goldie would be a good name that's the first thing I thought too then the runt maybe Tiny or baby then the black one I would go with EVIE or maybe chance.....If not for you they wouldn't have had one!! I am so glad that I am not the only one who takes in strays! My DH says I am crazy!! But he puts up with it. It's a little difficult theese days cause big'un and lil'girl are rottweilers and they are very protective of mommy and daddy. The 3 pups I have now are Lil'girls and she won't let them near us!
I went and looked at my cake comments after I left the forum yesterday and I just wanted to say thank you to the three of yu who left comments I appreciate you takin time to check out my cakes!

Kly...cute puppies. Good for you for taking care of them.

We have a new baby in the house. We got a call last week to take a newborn for a while. (We are foster parents). The first couple of weeks are always the hardest....lots of appointments, getting a schedule going...just basic adjustments. He is 8 days old today. We got him straight from the hospital when he was 2 days. The plan is reunification....as it usually is, just doesn't always work out that way. He is so precious.

Clicking for Monday done!

Awww, very cute puppies, Kly. I do not like dogs. Even so, I'd never be able to do that. There are shelters with people who do love them and will do everything they can to find good homes for them. May I still suggest names? I'm partial to Cookie for the runt. When my DH gets over losing his cat, I want to get a new cat (shelter kitty, of course!) and name him Cookie. I like Char (lotte) for the black one.

Ohara, You must have a really big heart. I would never be able to give a little one back. I watch my little neighbors and have a hard enough time returning them!

Got my American Girls cupcakes done! Completely freaked-out doing them. I only do about 10 cakes a year. (Mostly I do cookies.) My plan was to do a swirl with a 1001? and a #18 for the dolls' CC. Couldn't find it and panicked. Used a large round and #10 instead and a #18 for some "fireworks" looking ones. Used the Wilton mini star pans for the bday cake. My DH, who is a rock, did the star sprinkles and carried them over as I finished. I'm not sure I want to see the pictures. They tasted good, though. Banana cake with cream cheese icing, yum!

I need to clean up the kitchen -- does anyone else's kitchen look like a storm blew through it when they're done??!! I'm going to order a pizza for lunch and take the rest of the day off!

Oh Ohara!!!! How do you do that? I'd get so attached I wouldn't be able to let them loose. But without kind souls like you what would all these poor little sweet souls do. Atleast they are getting off to a fabulous, loving start.

Thank you all for the name suggestions. I have to decide soon. My bf keeps calling them 1,2 & 3 icon_lol.gif

Well, our snow melted of course and now it's just plain ole cold. But only till Wednesday and it'll be back up in the 70-80's.

Can you believe the time chnages this weekend icon_eek.gif Wow, time sure does go by fast these days.

Have a great one ladies!!! K'ly

K'ly, guess you could build on the 1, 2 and 3, and make them onesie, twosie, threesie.

Ohara, obviously you have kept in practice with fostering children, but at this point I wouldn't remember much about taking care of a newborn baby! Maybe it is kinda like riding a bike, and if I needed to do that it would come back to me. I do really admire you for what you do!

Our temps are headed back up too, supposed to be in the 80's by Friday. Looks like this year we may skip right from winter to summer again.

Have a great Tuesday. Oh, yeah, I clicked too.

Janice...yes, I have had a baby in the house pretty much for the last 14 years. Our oldest is 23, let me tell you, it is amazing that he lived. All the things we did then I think are a no no now. lol
I am always learning though, since none of my birth children were given drugs instead of prenatal vitamins. It is very sad.

Thank you all for your kind words. And yes, they all take a piece of my heart when they leave. Every time one leaves, I think that I just can't do this again. Then when the call comes, I just can't say no. I love them all.

We missed the snow this time. Just have bitter cold. It is 6 this morning. Thankfully no winds. We are supposed to warm up in the next couple of days.

Honeydukes-I'm glad you got your cupcakes done! I try to clean as I go but yes my kitchen usually does look like a hurricane blew through by the time I'm done!!
Ohara- fostering is such a wonderful thing- I was about to sign up for the foster parent program when I got hurt. Now I don't think they would allow it because i am officialy disabled. Such a shame! I have so much love to give out to childeren who need it and I love taking care of them.
It's just one more thing this stupid back injury has taken away from me. I guess I kind of get my fill with Ethan and other kids like him that I come across- but I would love for the courtss to say(to the parents)you have to do this and this BEFORE you can have them back.It leaves my heart unsettled when they go back to the same situation they were in and there is nothing I can do about it. It is so frustrating!!!!
I haven't seen Ethan since before valentines day-I still have his presents waiting for him but I probably won't see him again for awhile if ever! His dad has screwed up his end of the custody agreement! His birthday is on march 18th- I doubt I will see him then either! I miss him terribly!!
