A high of 26. Geez.

My back is better. Still not great, but better. TFA. We are diligently looking for a new mattress. Why does testing new mattresses make your back ache?? We've found that going from one to another is painful. We now go in and try one at a time. Take a towel (for the pillow) and a book and stay put for thirty minutes. Got 'em narrowed down. My DH loves that Sleep Number bed, but I can't stand it!

Lildeby, so glad to hear your hubby is comin' home to stay! Maybe you can take advantage of the cold weather! icon_redface.gificon_lol.gif When is he home for good?

vj I did figure out the ribbon on my own I decided to use gumpaste instead-better drying factor. I bought this really cool ribbon cutting tool from wilton and the rest was just a matter of shaping. It may not be as pretty as some you see but I think it turned out ok.I will post the cake after the party(when it is all together!)
Thanx for your well wishes everyone. I know it seems there is alot of drama and illness in my life right now,but It's not always this way. Hoping things will calm down soon!

OMGosh, lildeby. I hope they didn't have to change the date because of anything bad. I don't do many cakes and the ones I do are BC.

Maybe you can freeze it. Do you have room? You and Ohara could probably store your stuff outside. icon_lol.gif Would you have to worry about bleeding colors? Somebody here will have the answer for you.

Hope everybody is doing o.k. and is ready for the week ahead.

Yep, another Monday, another week! Clicks done for today.

lildeby, maybe you should post your question in another forum/thread where you might get an answer quicker.

I've read that people freeze their cakes and do all right, I even froze one of mine once but it was only for myself and covered in buttercream, so it wasn't a problem...it was fine, by the way.

No it wasnt anything bad they just decided to wait till her actual bday!
I do worry about the color bleeding because I have a really dark purple on there and when I was putting it on w/ water if i didn't get it in place thats where it had to stay because the color bled so bad!!
I have to go to the store today and get ready to hunker down for the weather! We are supposed to have 4 inches of snow tonight wich isn't bad but it will fall on top of an estimated 1/4 inch ice! I live 3 miles from a main road way out in the country so it will be difficult to get out.
I'm sure the weather is not as bad as it is at ohare's house. To the north it is already bad! I love the snow though!

We are getting an ice storm coming through today and tomorrow, some of you have already been through it, I think! Not looking forward to it, these drivers here will have a million wrecks, mainly because they don't have sense enough to slow down.

That is a nasty looking storm. Is there a state that it hasn't hit? icon_eek.gif I love scrambling at the grocery store trying to figure out what we'll need. Cookies? Milk? Frozen pizza? Cokes? Butter for baking?! icon_biggrin.gif

We are hoping to miss the ice. We have been under a winter storm warning since Monday at 8pm...the warning goes through Wednesday afternoon. They now are saying that we will be 10-12" of snow with this storm. No school today, they have already called. And I'm real sure no school tomorrow as we are expecting 6" of that snow during the night.

All we got last night was a whole lot of ice but they are saying that the snows will come tonight! LOTS of it too! I have a bday cake to deliver today but they may have to wait. This road I live on is narrow and curvy and there is a big hill at the end that takes you out of the holler that I live in. I will offer for them to come pick it up but with Alot of stress on the danger of the road I live on.
No school for us today either and probably will be cancelled tomarrow. One of the boys went to work this morning it was only raining when he left at 4 but things sure have changed since then! I hope he will be allright coming home! He is driving my car today because I have the best tires! VERY worried about him! icon_sad.gif

Wednesday clicking is done.

We are pretty well socked in this morning, although there isn't so much ice right here where I live. Oh boy, the accidents they had yesterday, and will more than likely be worse this morning when these crazy Texas drivers try to get to work! They say it should all be gone by noon, I sure hope so!

Everybody stay dry, warm and don't go out unless you have to.

Cable went out today. Could be worse -- we still have electricity! DH cleaned up/ supplied the fireplace just in case. They're supposed to come out tomorrow. Likely. We caught up on movies and taped shows. I just hope it's fixed before the Super Bowl!

Hope everyone is safe and warm!

We already had 5" from snow Sunday and Tuesday morning icon_cry.gif We are thankful that we didn't lose power. It did go out, but came back on quickly. No school for the third day. I'm here, just finished my clicks.

We went below freezing again last night, and some fog rolled in, so now we have frozen fog on the roads and making it treacherous with ice...more and more wrecks. Even a policeman wrecked his patrol car this morning and is in the hospital. This freezing fog is evidently more dangerous than just plain ice!

I'm fine, but I don't go out when it is like that, wish a lot more people would do that. I think Ft Worth had over 450 accidents in a 24 hour period, and Dallas almost that many. People here are so tied to their cars, they just have to go out and drive! Stupid.

Your right Janice....people should just stay home till the roads are more clear. Ours should be much improved by late morning or early afternoon. At least the main roads.

Honeydukes...it is pretty....unless you have somewhere you have to go. I am SOOOOOO looking forward to spring.

We are expecting another snow storm on Monday and Tuesday. The good news is that it is time for my annual girls trip. And thankfully this year we booked and payed for it back in September. My 3 girlfriends and I will leave Sunday. We are taking a cruise out of New Orleans. The weather doesn't look fabulous there....but compared to here....well, maybe it does!

I am here too! Yesterday every time i tried to post it said it was forbidden in big bold black letters! My internet was really screwy yesterday!we had alot of snow yesterday!Things are warmer today but they say it will snow fri mon and tues!!
My oldest dd and her boyfriend left yesterday to move to GA!! I was terrified with them leaving in all this snow and had to go through the mountains in TN and all! But she was insistent, she is due at her new job at 11 am today. So I bit my lip and said good bye. icon_cry.gif They got there allright and she is off on a new adventure in her life!

I sent lildeby a PM, but didn't want you guys to think I ignored her about Mansfield.

Had to look up a map, but found Mansfield is about 40 miles south of me (not so far by Texas standards,) more on the Fort Worth side of DFW while Carrollton is Northwest of Dallas. When I was in high school in the Oak Cliff area, I probably was pretty close to Mansfield, but I've never been there (at least that I remember.)

The temp is creeping up here, so hopefully the ice will all melt today, so all these fools can go racing around without running into each other so much!

Honeydukes...I always use a box mix with brownies. I never have any luck with homemade. I guess, I doctor the mix, I add choc. chips and chopped nuts icon_wink.gif They are the ones my family enjoys.

I have the Super Bowl snacks ready for them. I leave in the morning for my girls trip. So, I will watch the Super Bowl from New Orleans.

lildeby...we only had school this week on Monday. Hopefully next week will be better. There's a storm brewing, but they are not sure if we are going to get it or not...on Monday and Tuesday. Here's hoping we don't.

Yes, good 'ol Texas weather...we are supposed to get into the 70's today. Go figure after all that ice earlier. The old saying "If you don't like the weather, just wait a little while and it will change" definitely applies here.

Hope all of you get better weather too, so your kids can go back to school soon. I know it disrupts the whole family when the kids schedule changes.

My dd swim coach makes no sense to me! DD placed second in regional qaulifying then coach says she isn't putting her in regionals because she is a first year swimmer!! Then why did they even take her to qualify? So aggervating! She was really excited about regionals. She placed first in 100 meter freestyle! There are 3rd and 4th year swimmers that don't swim as well as her and there are 1st yr swimmers going to regionals!!!!

I know VJ! This is what she has been working for all year!SHe practices 4 nights a week 2 hours a night! SHe has no life, it's all about swim Team! She missed her cousin's bday patry and gave up her entire SAT to travel 70 miles to qualify and the VERY next practice the coach tells her her season is over! I am sooooo PO'd I want to grab her coach by the throat and scream at her!!! I don't know what to do I don't want to be one of "THOSE" parents! She will inevitably want to swim again next season swimming is the one thing she enjoys! Don't want to make the coach mad at me n take it out on her!
It's just with her asthma she's always been afraid to participate then she found swimming and she actually pushes her limits! Maybe coach is afraid of her asthma she's always asking if Amber brought her inhaler! I don't know just aggervated and ranting!

Lildeby, what a horrible way for her season to end! When I see things like this I wonder if she's not being set aside for someone else who's "due." You know, someone who's been there or is "owed" or something. I'm sorry, that sounds so cynical of me.

You know what, next year she'll come back bigger and stronger. Tell her to use this as motivation. thumbs_up.gif
