Well my DH loves habanero. They don't really phase him. He's weird.

Julie, I did say that I was going to someones home for pizza. It's too late for me to cook and I'm a little lazy from that 2 hour nap.

Wow, I leave for diner and come back to 4 pages to catch up on! Wow! i was watching a 30 min meals with Rachel Ray and thought about all those issues people have with her "E V O O" and "yumm-o" and "sammys". She was making a Monte Cristo. Now I'm watching a Paula Dean off my DVR. She puts chunks of cold hard butter in her hamburgers meat.

I of course meant Paul's buttery hamburgers... I believe that lady would butter her water... oh wait... no her sweetened ice tea!!! icon_lol.gif DSIL and I have discussed Paula and decided that she is Paula the good Witch of the South... Glenda of the North's sister... Didn't you ever wonder why there was a witch of the North, East and West? But no south? I do declair...

Ok, real quick - I am nowhere NEAR catching up my reading on this thread and I just had to say - HOLY CRAP this thing is taking on a life of it's own now - LOL!!!

BTW, I am going insane and really, really desperately need someone to tell me that I am not completely nuts. icon_surprised.gif Ok, so we were out of the country for a few months and my daughter got really hooked on those mechanical rides like the ones that USED to be EVERYWHERE when we all were kids - - remember the ones that used to be out in front of the Kmart / Woolworths / Clover / Montgomery Ward / etc. that you put a quarter in and get to ride a few minutes? Remember those things? ANYONE?
Well guess what? They apparently don't exist anymore in this country icon_mad.gif - at least not in NJ icon_confused.gif - and my daughter is totally hooked on them! icon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gif
So tell me, is it all in my head? Did I imagine these things - were they not literally everywhere a few years back? Where did they go?
Are they in ride heaven? icon_eek.gif

icon_lol.gif Lady! My kids never ask to go on those! Unless they are with Grammy! They know she will let them go! We have a merry go round at the grocery store, 8 different ones at the mall with the movie theater, and a horse near the dollar tree. Good luck finding some near you! You could also check at chuck e cheese! Do you have that there?

Yeah - they have them at Chuckie Cheese? I think there is one a few towns away from me, will have to check it out, but everyone tells me it's not so good over there.. hmmm... boy I wish I was near your place, my daughter would be so happy! I just don't get it - they used to be all over the place not so long ago, maybe they all headed west? icon_confused.gif LOL..

LadyofCake- You are not imagining it. At least here in Arizona there are none! They used to be in front of every store, but I haven't seen them for years. My son would go nuts if we had them. I'd always have to have quarters. Hmmm...maybe a blessing in disguise?!

Good Night everyone..

We have those rides everywhere here. My daughter loves them. They even have one at the Babies R Us that my daughter HAS to ride cause its Elmo, (actually normally I don't have quarters), ones in front of the Walmarts.

She puts the butter in so when they grill the butter melts and moistens and flavors the meat. I actually like the concept of the Paula shows and Good Eats, too. They don't do the "healthy meals" they leave that to you to govern yourself. I LOVE Good Eats. My DVR gets all the Good Eats, the Ace of Cakes, and the Ellie Krieger. Yeah, she's a diet one, but I tell you I've made 4 of her recipes and haven't been disappointed with one. Her oven "fried" chicken is great, and healthy! icon_smile.gif My husband loves it and has declared it one of my specialities. Which is funny being the other two are FATTENING...Green Chili Enchiladas, and Handmade-down-to-the-noodles Manicotti. I wonder if he means my staples. There are certain meals I make regularly cause they're tasty and really easy. Like this one.

In a crockpot put in one jar chili verde (16 ozs or so), one can diced anaheims (I use the big can - 4 oz?) and 4-6 chicken breasts. Cook while you're at work on low or high for 4 hrs. Shred chicken and return to pot, add 1 can white beans and one black beans. Cook on high 30 more minutes, serve over rice.

The other easy one.

In the crockpot- 1 can corn, can black beans, cup of red salsa, stir and add 4-6 chicken breasts. Cook on low at least 3 hrs, I've used frozen breasts (Costco has the best price) and just left it all day. Add a block of cream cheese, cut up, (my DH likes less) and cook an additional hour. Serve with rice or torts, or both!

Okay, I'm cold, so I'm gonna go lay down on the couch under the blanket. I want to watch Heroes, but I have to wait for DH.

Okay, I know that everyone has left for the day, but I just caught up. It took me 1 1/2 hours! I tried to get on at work today, but boss guy wanted to takl instead. He knows I get on and he's fine with it...he was just lonely! Poor guy!

Okay, catching up since page 62 - here it goes:

Loops, I was touched that DS#1 walked with me too. He kept saying "I don't think that I'm allowed to do this", I just kept saying that I wanted him to. We held hands while we walked the last 1/4 lap. Gotta love the kid!

ALSO, the tests for my cancer were expensive for Kaiser. They didn't want to do any "unnessesary" tests. GEEZ, it's my well-being. You would think that they would run them!

Termite - I've lost this forum topic, too, a few times. It just disappears from my watched list...don't understand why.

Okay, everyone was telling real names....bet you can't guess what my name is!! Also, if you want to see my pics go to my myspace page. Same exact name there. I'm to old to remember too many usernames!

I wish that we could post pics here. I'm glad that I got to see them before they were taken down!

Okay, if you guys decide to change forums (go to the lounge) someone please pm me and let me know. I don't seem to be getting on here too much this week.

I had my first real cake disaster....stupid cake broke in half. Couldn't be put back together. Had to start making another cake at 8:30 tonight. Still need to ice and decorate it by tomorrow night. I think that I'm leaving work early for that! I did finish my firefighter helmet though. It turned out okay, but I didn't put a lot of detail on it. My BIL is graduating from the fire academy up in Chico, but I'm not going (I was, but boss guy has to take his DD to LA area - she got a part in a Ben Stiller - Jack Black movie). I don't know if I ever want to go back to the in-laws anyway. They treat me and my kids like crap. Another subject.

Oh...Wilton Fondant....just went and bought some for this firefighter helmet.....I just tell people to pull it off before they eat it....but I'm not going to be there....oh well.....

Oh, yeah, I remember Wacky Packages...I still have all of the ones that I got when I was a kid. I buy them for my kids now. (they are out again) and even have a cool little binder (folder) that you can put them in....I may have to buy that for all of mine! I even know where all of mine are! The same place I put them back in the 70's - in the nightstand that I used when I was a kid. Mom never cleaned them out!

Okay, I guess that's about it for now.....I will try to get on tomorrow morning when I get to work. I just got carried away today and did all of the work that I didn't do last week. I'm all caught up now. I don't know WHAT I'll do with myself!!! icon_rolleyes.gif
