Home Sweet Home
I made this for a realtor who had the bright idea to give a house cake to her clients when they closed on their homes. It is blurry because I was still learning the settings on my camera. it is made with the wilton house standing cake pan doubled. Iced in buttercream (corinelli lace design around sides) with royal icing drop flowers and accents around the eaves. the mail box and forsale sign are paper and lollypopstick. It was an awesome cake and the pic does not do it justice.

St. Josephs
This was for a reception celebrating my church's 50th anniversary. My cake is exact to the photos I used, but my stained glass window in the front is abstract and the real thing has no "50" at the pitch of the roof. the roof and and the rest of the cake is iced in buttercream, the "stained glass" is tinted piping gell, the "50" and the enclaves on the right side and the rails for the steps are fondant. The base cake is 12x18 sheet (one layer), then 1-10"square for church, 4-10'sq cut diagonal for pitch.

Anniversary Cross
I made this for a reception at my church when I lived in Coconut Grove, FL (part of Miami). It for our recotor in celebration of his years in the priesthood. If I had done this today, I would have piped around the edge of the cardboard for the cross to cover it up. Since it is an older pic and had to be scanned in it is not easy to see the details on the roses. The cakes are entirely buttercream.

Miamian's Book
I made this for a member of a barbershop chorus. It was a last minute idea so I didn't have time to find the correct music for the Happy Birthday song, so I tried to wing it. It got a good laugh. It was made using the large Wilton book pan and is buttercream. I appreciate your comments. Thank you.

Confirmation Book
This is one of many cakes that I've made for my church's special occasions. This one was for a Confirmation reception. It is entirely buttercream with piping gel crosses, pearls, and plastic Wilton doves. Prior to serving, it was displayned on short push in pillars over a larger matching sheet cake to increase the number of servings.

Borders Book
I made this as a thank you to the Borders' staff from my Senior Girl Scout troop. Borders let my troop have our meetings there and treated us very well. When we found out they were closing we were heartbroken. So their last week we threw them a little appreciation party in thier coffee shop.. It is buttercream with fondant "pages." If you look closely, the corners are even curled up a little. Needless to say they did not want to cut it.

Laura's 25Th Anniversary
This was for a manager in my office a couple of years ago. We had a surprise party for her and she didn't know, but her husband was in on it and came. It is entirely buttercream with silver rings and dragees as accents. On the top with the roses are Wilton crystal-look butterflies.

Anita's Wedding
This was for a co-worker's friends daughter. They picked the cake out of a supermarket book but didn't want to pay their price. HA! I didn't let them off easy. I copied it exactly!! The only thing not buttercream are the flowers, they are silk. (I had not yet mastered gumpaste roses. Now, I may never use silk)

Laura' S Castle
This was for the daughter of a co-worker. This was a very fun cake to make. I used 10" and 6" squares and the smallest hex and yes, the cake is dowelled.. The towers are both types of ice cream cones: cup and cone. The entire cake is covered in buttercream. The llittle squares are sugar cubes and the windows are piping gel. There are also royal icing drop flowers on some of the cubes and the towers. Anyone can make this cake. I made it multi tier to add serviings.

Joe's B'day
This was for the DH of a co-worker. He is an avid dominos player. They are New York transplants to SoFla, hence the Statue of Liberty and Empire State Bldg. It is 10' square, the decorations on the top as well as the dominos are molded chocolate, the surface and borders are buttercream and cocolate.

Ida's Baby Shower
This is today's cake for a co-worker's daughter. I love the way the colors came out. This style is my most requested and the idea came from American Cake Decorating mag from many years ago. It is 12"x18" chocolate with a home made strawberry cream filling. The footprints were made using a rubber stamp I found at a craft store and are stamped on mmf. I hope you like it.

Dolores's Daughter's Wedding
This was for the daughter of a co-worker. This was a fun cake for me because this is a hobby and it was so classic looking, but with color. I used mostly butter cream and the pale yellow and lavender roses were royal icing. If you look closely, you will see some royal icing hearts attached to the pillars. I used 6" and 9" rounds and 10" square. Feel free to comment.

Cindy's Wedding
This was for the sister of my BFF, whom I would go to the ends of the earth for. She wanted an ivy look, so I used buttercream and fondant flowers and leaves. It was a small wedding so I think I used 6", 9", 12" rounds. I had seen photos in Wilton and American Cake Decorator mags which is what inspired me. I had a great time making this cake and I hope you like it.
