Cathy's St. Pat's Birthday Cake
My close friend's birthday is also St. Patrick's Day, and I surprised her at her work with this cake today. Vanilla hex 2 tier cake w/ white choc raspberry buttercream. Roses are 50/50 gum paste and fondant using the EASIEST ROSE CUTTER EVER from FMM. It's not as smooth as I usually get. I overbeat resulting in air bubbles. OH, and I just found out the cake was never cut because it was too pretty. She brought it home and there it sits on her kitchen counter. I should have made it out of styrofoam.

Jenny's Mermaid
For coworker's close friend. Shell cake covered with marshmallow fondant, square cake with raspberry buttercream (made with white choc raspberry coffee creamer and Polaner's All Fruit seedless raspberry). Gum paste mermaid, fondant and marshmallow fondant turtles and starfish, crushed Girl Scout cookies. Cake was vanilla tinted purple, BD girl's fav color. I can't sculpt to save my life, so let me know what you think.

Valentine's Cupcakes For Paramount Coffee
These cupcakes were for my co-workers at a coffee company. The hearts, flowers and mini coffee cups are gum paste, lace is Sugar Dress (awesome), buttercream, french vanilla cupcakes. I would have made fuller roses instead of buds, but I just am not fast enough yet. Each was served with a mini fork and faux china plate, just to be a bit classy. Opinions are welcome.

New Years Eve '14 (12/31/14)
This is 3 layer carrot cake with cream cheese icing. I got the recipe from our forums and it worked FABUOUSLY! "Carmijok's cream cheese icing" The decorations are fondant (also has snowflakes on the sides). It was not meant to be finely decorated, I just didn't want it to be plain. Everyone loved it.

Coffee Cake
This was for my company (a coffee company) but the ride over proved disastrous. It is 2 tier yellow w/Nutella buttercream and fondant decorations. The coffee cups are cupcakes wrapped in fondant with edible images. By the time I arrived at work, the planks on the bottom tier were down, so the copper "bands" were split, the handles were off the cups, and the "bag" on top was wonky (cake wrapped in fondant). This is the post delivery pic. Did not get pic before it left my home, it was in perfect shape.

Albert's Cake
This cake was for the mother of the owner of the company I work for. It is 2 tier, black forest, covered with fondant, the carnations are 50/50 fondant/gumpaste, the roses are Mexican paste (very strong); leaves, plaques, letters, ruffle are straight fondant. There is a border of the same variegated purple around the bottom edge of both tiers. I planned more but I ran out of time.

American Legion Memorial Day 2014
This was inspired by Ann Wright's Eagle Scout cake. I made it for my local American Legion post, in honor of my grandfather who served in WW2. He and my grandmother were very active in their AL post in PA. My father also served in the Navy. The scroll is a replacement, the first broke. It is 16" square and 2 layers, with my own bc made w/french vanilla coffee creamer (yummy). The roses, bows and scroll are fondant, as are the flag, sky, rope and sides.

Lisa's Pops
These are a sample of the pops I made for friends. They are a yellow/vanilla recipe with sour cream, french vanilla pudding and white chocolate, then dipped in chocolate and decorated with fondant snow flakes and fondant stripes (painted with luster dust) and Wilton snow flake candies. The stand is a styrofoam cone painted green and glued to a wood base to keep from tipping that was painted gold.

Alex's Farewell
A special Girl Scout friend was leaving from Florida (hence the tropical theme) to Oregon, and my daughter and her closest friends threw a party for her. Since my daughter and I are huge Cakewreckies, she wanted to put an "organ" on the top, so she sculpted and painted a stomach for me. Alex and all loved it. I hope you do too. Satin Ice, piping gel, chocolate rocks, fondant turtles and shells, swedish fish.

Richard's 27Th Bday
I made this for my son's 27th. It's a long story, but it was the first I was able to make for him in 9 years (not jail, promise). Both tiers are square with the front corners cut off, then covered with the piping gel stream, chocolate rocks, buttercream icing and grass, fisherman and fish are fondant (fish are painted w/markers). I got inspired by another cake here (sorry I can't remember the caker). I can't sculpt to save my life. But I was able to do this. TFL.

Round Wedding Fondant Snowflake Dummy
I made this over the last 2 nights. Only the top and one very small 2" wide by 4" deep segement of the bottom are cake. The middle and rest of bottom tier are dummies. The bride was having ice cream cupcakes but the groom still wanted a cake for the ceremonial slice. I used the mini loaf pan set for cake segment. The inspiration was found web surfing. Everyone loved it.

Summer Bbq
I had fun making this cake. bc base and grass with fondant chairs / umbrella / flowers / BBQ. under the grill were tiny fondant charcoal briquettes. . The rocks were choc candy rocks like MMs. The chairs and umbrella were made with a gem cutter kit that is great! instead of making fondant/gumpaste bars I used lollypop stix and they worked fine.
