Wwe Wrestling
For my grandson's 6th birthday. He's a BIG "WWE" fan and even has his own wrestling name (given to him by his aunt!). 10" square, 2 layer. white fondant top with black fondant sides. Posts are dowel rods rolled in black fondant. Found it easier to wet the dowel rod (wipe excess water off) then roll it in the fondant and it stuck together great. Was going to use red licorice as the ropes but couldn't find any, but being the crocheting gramma that I am, I had PLENTY of red yard that worked fine. Free-handed the logo in BC on a black fondant square.

Teal And Lavender Floral
6/10"; teal and lavender buttercream flowers (pansies, carnations, roses, rosebuds); ribbon around the bases. Friend brought paint cards so I could match the colors and the colors were a perfect match! I was very pleased with that! Marble cake with choc filling for an 80th birthday party for my friend's mom. I cascaded the flowers on the side so they would have room on the top for the topper they had bought. Was VERY happy they did not want "Happy Birthday" written on it anywhere!

Trish's Birthday Cake
Made for a co-worker's birthday (which is why it's on a Tupperware base!). 2-layer, 10" round marble; iced in my Dreamsicle BC; topped with a pool of chocolate ganache with BC flowers "floating" in the pool of chocolate! This was a last minute deal, baked and decorated in an afternoon, which is why the flowers are simple and sparse.

Michael Jackson Smooth Criminal
For my grandkids' birthday. 10" round (serves 38); all BC with black fondant cutouts. printed off MJ's sillouette from the 'net and cut out with an exacto knife. Tried to use some of the bead border to make musical notes but they didn't work out as well as I thought they would. Grandson ate the MJ sillouette and I got a pic of his black teeth! LOL!

Son's Wedding Cake
6/810/12, Each tier had 3 different fillings of choc/white BC/red rasp. Iced in BC; fondant black leaves.Cake made from a photo supplied by bride."Stem" for the leaves is black BC. When I first set up the cake, it looked great, but I started noticing a lean to it after awhile. Youngest daughter mentioned it, too, & I knew I had to do something. this was the first time in my life I ever had to take a cake apart at a reception. Pulled dowels out of the two upper tiers, trimmed down the high side ones & re-assembled. Looked MUCH better! Not sure how that happened 'coz I measure one dowel & cut all others to that size, but as the staying goes "Stuff Happens!" Just glad it wasn't a drop off & I was there to fix it!

Sara's Wedding
6/8/10, iced in BC, wrapped in blue ribbon with (plastic) pearls on top of the ribbon. Man, this 6" top cake gave me fits!! This cake was a gift for a friend renewing her vows on her 10th anniversary so it was very special to me and I swear I was ready to throw the 6" across the room! LOL! I bet i re-iced it 4 times. Laughingly told friend Sara she owed me big for the little cake! bottom line was she told me even her non-cake-eating friends asked for seconds, so I guess all went well! the cake sat on a large clear bowl filled with clear marble-like items and Sara had pushed small LED lights into the marbles, giving the cake base a wonderful glowing look (that didn't come out in my pics).

Valentine Roses
Made for a co-worker's birthday. All BC. All BC roses. She wanted a cake that looked like the Target logo ... red and yellow circles. I said, "oh honey, I'll make you something MUCH better than that!" So I covered it with circles of red and yellow roses. torted, 4 layers with rasp, choc and white BC icing fillings. Took it in and she almost cried. Said, "I don't want to cut it!" I said, "Don't you dare be one of those people! I didnt' stay up until 2 o'clock in the G*@% D@*$ morning so you could NOT eat it! hahahahaha!

Winter Wonderland
6/8/10/12/16, designed to serve approx 300 (at $3.50/serving = $1050, in Indiana). I don't charge extra for simple design elements, like the sugar or the pine cones. Iced in BC, covered in sugar crystals. I used 3 lbs of the crystals, with some leftover. When doing this design, it's best to have too much of the crystals. After I stacked the cakes, I piped a tip #7 line of icing at the base of the tiers, then added more sugar and pressed it in place. An easy way to add this line of sugar was I put the sugar in a disposable piping bag and cut a hole in the end big enough for the sugar to flow thru. Super easy! Pinecones and snowflakes are plastic from Michaels. I got sugar all over the black tablecloth at the venue & while I was trying to clean it off, the venue managers said, "Oh leave it! It looks like snow!" Cool! Luv'd that idea!

Carnegie Pink
6/8/10 square; pink BC; white BC decors; real ribbon and plastic pearl strand at base of tiers; silver dragees on bottom tier; I have no idea what happened to the right corner on the middle tier. I noticed the mess up corner in the pic..... I would swear it was ok when I was setting it up! (No! Really! I swear!) :-)

5 Color Hexagon Cake
I LUV doing hexagon cakes! It's been years since I've made one and omg, please send me a bride with a hexagon request every weekend! I was nervous about doing it, but it was amazingly easy! This was for a 25th anniv. Couple's daughter helped with the design. I LUV the different colors ... soft sage green, peach, orange and fuschia pink. Top 2 tiers were spice with apple filling, then lemon with dreamsicle filling, then choc with choc-raspberry filling. The 16" single layer base layer had no filling. Cake serves 218 as shown (at $3.50/serving = $763 in Indiana). The Precious Moments figurine was from their orig wedding cake. I also did the catering with some new ideas and setups (see my Flickr site for those pics).

Roses And Pearls
6/8/10/12square dummy cake for a bridal show. iced in BC, wrapped in real ribbon with strands of plastic pearls. BC roses, sprayed with PME gold luster dust, Juniper green for the leaves, with snips of pearls strands scattered thru-out the roses for accents. I LUV'd doing this cake ... a chance to showcase the almost-lost-art of BC roses again! Cake as shown would serve 146 x $3.50/serving = $511 (indiana). I would not charge extra for the BC rose cascade.

Square Motif
6/10/12, BC iced, then covered with chocolate & fondant squares. I'm not happy with this cake. The icing didnt set right. I poured the chocolate too thick, so when I cut the squares, they were really too thick to look right. I should have left the fondant to dry a bit more before attaching, to make them easier to handle. Also should have cut ALL the chocolate squares while the chocolate was "kinda" warm. It got to cool & was hard to cut. Ended up remelting and re-cutting some.

Chocolate And Blue
6/8/10 (serves 100), all BC. Bride & groom gave me a list of 6 phrases each to put on the cake & neither knew the phrases from the other so when they see the cake, it will be a big surprise to both of them! Words applied freehand as I didnt' have any presses with letters small enough to fit everything in the space.

Tree Stump Grooms Cake
three 8" rounds, iced in BC, then covered with fondant. I colored the fondant a fleshtone, then mixed some brown coloring in water & literally just slapped the coloring on with a paintbrush. Used the handle end of the paintbrush to carve the heart and a toothpick to carve the letters. Then used Aztec gold luster dust to dust the carvings to get them to stand out. Added some luster dust sporadically on the stump to give it highlights. I really couldn't believe how easy this cake was! From rolling the fondant to cleanup was only about 30 minutes! Wow! This was also my 1st opportunity to use my new custom made "woodsy" stand!

Fall Colors
6/8/12, all BC, on free standing acrylic stands. I was so excited to do this cake! Bride picked the design from one of my older pics (like from the 80's!), and I got to do lots of colors in BC decorations. I was also thrilled when I was able to really match the colors in the silk flowers she supplied (see add'l photos). They are big hockey fans, so she had a plastic trophy to sit next to the cakes. I had to rearrange them about 3 times before I found the setup that complimented the trophy and the cakes, without hiding the cakes.

Cherry Blossom
5 tier, 6/8/10/12/14, serves approx 200, all BC with gumpaste blossoms. If I had charged for this cake, it would have been 208 servings x $3.50 = $728 plus the cost of buying the cherry blossoms (mom paid about $50 online for them.) Made for the daughter of a very good friend. MOB even came to the shop and helped bake it. I stayed to help with the buffet and serve the cake for them. MOB did most of the decorating work and eveyrthing looked awesome! (see add'l pics on my Flickr site).

Blue And Brown Ribbon
6/8/10, serves 74, iced in BC, with brown and ivory ribbons wrapped and tucked. Made from a photo brought in by the bride. This was not hard, but not as easy as it looks. I would strongly recommend this design be done only in fondant next time. There is so much touching/tucking of the ribbon that it's hard NOT to leave fingermarks in the icing. But I DO love the look!
