Son's Wedding Cake
6/810/12, Each tier had 3 different fillings of choc/white BC/red rasp. Iced in BC; fondant black leaves.Cake made from a photo supplied by bride."Stem" for the leaves is black BC. When I first set up the cake, it looked great, but I started noticing a lean to it after awhile. Youngest daughter mentioned it, too, & I knew I had to do something. this was the first time in my life I ever had to take a cake apart at a reception. Pulled dowels out of the two upper tiers, trimmed down the high side ones & re-assembled. Looked MUCH better! Not sure how that happened 'coz I measure one dowel & cut all others to that size, but as the staying goes "Stuff Happens!" Just glad it wasn't a drop off & I was there to fix it!
Hi, I love the cake you made for your son. I have to make my son's wedding cake in 9 weeks time. I'll also be doing a 4 tier. I've been baking cakes my whole life but I've never made a tiered wedding cake before.
I was wondering if you can please tell me what the height was of each of your tiers after filling and frosting. It is so well done.
Hope to hear back from you soon.
