Flower Garden Cake
the 2nd cake I took to niece's shower (see also Hershey Kiss cake). I saw the fencing in a store and thought it would look great around a cake! Mini flower cookies on sucker sticks as flowers. The only tree cutter I had was a palm tree (but no one cared!). Had to use small flower cookies to prop up the trees .... they were too heavy to stand on their own in the cake. Cake was 11x15, half-n-half white/choc.

Hershey Kiss Cake
Made for my niece's wedding shower, which had a Hershey Kiss theme. My first time using fondant, on the white "ribbon", on which is written "Kisses for the New Mrs." Used the large wonder mold pan on top of a 10" round, then carved out in Hershey Kiss form. Thanks to indigojods for her help and advice!

Laura's Cascading Rose
4 tiers 12/10/8/6. All BC with polyester ribbon. Real roses and baby's breath provided by bride and attached by me upon assembly. This was one of my 7-7-07 brides ... the one that was featured in the USA Today article about 7-7-07 weddings. After the wedding, they had a chartered bus ready to take the bridal party to the casinos in Southern Indiana!

Top tier icing "wrinkled" .... never had that happen before. Any ideas why???? Iced in BC.

Thomas Duncan Hall Wedding
I just LUV'd the couple for this wedding! THey were so fun! They contacted me the Monday before their wedding and said they had been on my website and could they change their cake design to "The Hand Cramp Dots Cake"? (I think the "Choc and Pink" cake has a new name now!). My daughter came into the kitchen and said, "I got a picture of the cake for you, mom" so it wasn't until I got home and saw the pics that I could ask her, "Could ya have removed the little blue crumbs off of the top first?" hahahaha

Emily's Cake
This was a FUN cake! Bride brought me a pic that we modeled this cake after. The "sticker-outer-things" were handmade by me using florist wire and some mat'l found in the craft dept. The spots on the middle tier are some bleed-thru from the red-velvet. Groom requested draping ribbons from the top. There were lots of good comments from guests at the wedding! Add'l pics are posted on my Flicker website (in my signature).

Chocolate And Pink
This was copied/inspired by a cake in "Wedding Cakes" Issue 17 made by Little Venice Cake Company. (This magz is published in England). All BC. Each little dot piped on there one by one! (oh gosh my hands are cramping!). Icing smoothed and the ribbon smoothed down with the Melvira Method!! I had made this design for a bride in cream and white but didn't get any good pics, so I really wanted to do another for photo-ing...even tho' I knew the hand cramps were coming!

M&m Cake
Designed this because a niece is an M&M collector! 100% buttercream, iced in choc, orange and green ... M&M colors. I have close up's of each tier on my picture website, http://www.flickr.com/photos/55969028@N00/ . The border flowers have M&M's as the center; see next pic of flowers made of peanut M&M's.

M&m Flowers
These were made with peanut M&M's for my M&M wedding cake. A dollop of melted white chocolate (about the size of a quarter) on wax paper, then 5 M&M's laid around in a circle for the petals. A mini M&M is the flower's center. I was inspired for this by a pic I saw in a magazine where they used Jordan Almonds for the flower petals.

Basketweave With Ribbon
A styrofoam cake.... I needed to figure out how to weave real ribbon into the BC basketweave for a wedding I have later this year. Flowers and icings are all BC. I had to scrape off and start over a couple of times before I figured it out! I like this look, if I do say so myself! :-)

Fuscia Fantasy
A styrofoam display cake. I found this sprig of silk florals while shopping and thought "those colors would make a great cake!" THe flowers are a daisy-like with one petal fuscia and a touch of yellow in the center. Cake is iced in yellow BC to pick up the yellow in the flower and the fuscia is used as the accent color. A mound of icing on the top tier to create height, and topped with BC roses & some of the silk flowers.

1St Fbct - And It Is Bad!
Tried doing my husband's company's logo on my first FBCT...and it turned out terrible! I picked an image with lots of SMALL details (like the Cadillac symbol at the top) and I believe I should have used a smaller tip for the word "Cadillac". But I fell in love with this technique and can't wait to try more of them! Tips and suggestions on what I can try next time are very welcome!

Red Rose Basketweave
3-tier basketweave, all BC, decorated with real (blood red!) roses. This was for an older couple (well.... "MY" age!). My punch bowl is depression glass on a pedestal. i don't normally use glass glasses for the punch but this couple wanted to "upgrade" so I got real glasses for them. (I luv doing basket weave!)

Blue Christmas 2
I worked on "Blue Christmas" to see if I could improve it a little (see orig Blue Christmas in pics). I added drop flowers with a silver center on the top tier to make the top tier less plain & to bring the silver more into the design. Added large roses with silver foil leaves on bottom front & corners to give some "weight" to it. Tthe foil is to bring the silver color more into the design. Added some pearls/tulle between the tiers among the silver leaves for a hint of 'wedding' look. your thoughts?
