Seashell Wedding
My first seashell wedding cake, I looked forward to doing it for a long time! Used 4 different lusters to paint the white choc shells. Cake is 14/10/6. 10" is my first official Rum cake, too! It looks like the 10" has some overhang on the left, but it's just the camera angle .... no overhand. Sand is crushed graham crackers with gold sanding sugar. What I would do different: cover cake tops with sand BEFORE stacking so the entire top could be covered (duh!)

Condle Wedding Cake
3 tiers with double ribbon (blue base with smaller white ribbon over it). Bride furnished the "C" topper and artificial calla's ... I added the little pearly things as a small accent. One young guests (about 7 years old) came up to the cake table and asked "If you've already had a piece of cake, can you have another?" I said, "Honey, if it's on the table, you can have 14 pieces if you want ... and if your mom says ok!!" Luv it when they ask for more!

51St Birthday
I booked this cake at my first visit to a networking group's meeting!! The only direction she gave was "sheet .... blue ... not navy". It's 1/2 yellow and 1/2 choc, all BC. I sprinkled some sparkly dust I had on hand that was leftover from my granddaughter's birthday for a little extra zip!

Nascar
A simple cake for a church event. Evidently folks are assigned to "tables" and each month, the adult at the table has to bring a birthday cake if anyone at his table has a birthday. One of the kids was a Nascar fan, so we did a simple circle race track with Nascar toys on top. (Dang! Nascar toys are Expensive!!) All buttercream.

Red Fondant Circles
My 2nd time using fondant. 3-layer white cake, iced in BC, with Satin Ice fondant red circles and fondant border. The birthday girl wore a dress with this pattern at a Bridal Show I was at a nd I tracked her down to tell her, "Your dress would make a great cake!" So her mom ordered this cake for her birthday. They drove 2-hours round trip to get this cake!!!

Richmond Basketweave
Made for the Richmond (IND) Bridal Show last weekend. Real ribbon woven into the buttercream basketweave. Florals are silk, as is the butterfly. This cake was popular with the brides planning a western themed wedding. Pics of booth are in my thread "Good Bridal Show Yesterday" in the business forum.

6-Tier Poinsetta
From the Richmond (IND) Bridal Show last week. 6 tier dummy cake. Each tier decorated differently. All in white so the red florals between the tiers would "pop" with color. Top tier has gold dragees. This was my "WOW!" factor cake at the show and it did just what I wanted it to! Pics of the booth are in my thread "Good Bridal Show Yesterday" in the Business forum.

Festive 40!
I HATE over-the-hill birthday cakes! 40 is when the best time of your life is just starting! So for a very good friend who also works for me, I made this cake and took it to her day-job office. 10" round/6" square with push in pillars. Bought regular gift topper ribbons for the top of the cake and also wrapped them around the pillars to drape out over the bottom cake. Top tier has sparkles sprinkled on it. Noticed after it was all done that the dang ribbon on the top tier was crooked!

Dessert Cakes
Not much to see because the test is in the tasting. Left cake is a white chocolate cake with white chocolate BC filling, with melted white chocolate drizzled on top. Right is a made from scratch (my first!!!) chocolate cake with choc/raspberry filling, icing is made-from-scratch chocolate icing (& I used butter, not crisco!). Using my family Xmas as the test tasters on my ventures "outside the box" with a modified mix cake & a scratch choc cake!!!

Lockhart Birthday
For the president of the company my husband works for. This FBCT was the first one I tried previously (very badly!) and the lady who ordered the cake wanted this logo on the cake, even tho' hubby told her "I don't think she's ready to do those for customers yet". Too bad. Lady said she liked it. So...... tried it again. Still not good enough for my taste (are they ever good enough for "us"?) but they liked it. 18x24, all BC, 1/2-n-1/2 white-choc cake.

Piano Cake
Inspired by the many piano cakes I've seen here on CC, I made this dummy cake just to see what I could do. All BC. My daughter came home from school and thought I had ventured into fondant! (yep, I took that a a great compliment!) Working with so much black icing on white is very stressful and more practice is needed before I offer this one for sale. Feedback, suggestions and critique welcome! The dummies are 12/8.

Help!! The Beatles
My daughter's 30th birthday cake. She is a Beatles maniac ... even got married on John Lennon's birthday. I saw a similar cake by LittleLinda back in April and saved it because I KNEW this was the cake for my daughter! It's my 3rd FBCT, and every time I do one, I gain more & more respect for those who do these all the time! I still have a long way to go before I offer FBCT to real customers! How do you get the teeny details?? Daughter and her friends LUV'D it and that's all that matters at this point!

Funfetti Cake
Real ribbon woven into BC icing basketweave. This is my funfetti cake (see other pic showing a slice of cake where you can see the pink and green funfetti). I didn't even know you could order special colored funfetti's until this cake! I was a little thrown when I saw the topper - it's a music box and VERY heavy, so that's why it appears to be leaning. I had no idea it was something this heavy and didn't do any support-prep to the top tier. Bride LUV'D it! Real rose petals tucked in each layer.

Funfetti Cake Slices
Pic 2 of 2. (See other pic of the whole cake). Just wanted to show what the inside of my special-request-cake for pink and green funfetti looked like! Slices shown are white cake with pink and green funfetti (from CK Products ... bag was marked "Pink Jimmies" and "Green Jimmies"), which were the wedding colors. Some had choc fudge filling and some had red raspberry filling. LOTS of comments on how unique this was!

Square With Fountain
All BC, 2-toned roses in yellow and orange (fall colors). I discovered at the last minute that the square plate the cake was on wasn't big enough to work with the fountain! So I had to use round plates above and below the fountain, then the cake, on a square cake plate, was sat on top of the round plates. The 1" gap, caused by the plate legs, was filled in with silk florals. For a near last minute disaster, I don't think anyone knew it wasn't SUPPOSE to be this way!

Burgundy Ribbon
14/10/8/6, all BC, wrapped in burguncy ribbon with dots. Bride didn't have a topper so I made one from the ribbon and added some baby's breath. The top two tiers fell over during transport, and fell into the bottom tier (you can kinda see it on the left side of the pic). The shell border was an add-on at the reception to cover the damage. Staff at the country club said it looked great (whew!)

Anderson Museum Wedding
A 5-tier basketweave for an October wedding, bottom tier is styrofoam, 2" of hidden pillars between tiers, then filled with silk florals (provided by bride). All BC. Real ribbon woven into the BC icing. Cakes are 12/10/8/6 with a 16" styrofoam on an 18" silver plateau. I rec'd LOTS of compliments on the cake while I was cutting it!

Mandy's Wedding Cake
Another of a very popular design for me; made for hubby's niece's wedding. 16" styrofoam base with a 14/10/6. Added sprays of pearls among the flowers. On the far right are a couple of flowers and I used a few gold painted pine cones that were leftover from the table decorations. Transported the bottom 3 (silver stand, styrofoam and 14" cake) all in one pieces. Even tho' it was styrofoam, it was still heavy!! It was my gift to the bride and groom. for 150 guests at a country club.

Gold Ribbon Square
Ribbon is actually "latte" color. Similar to the black-ribboned cake I did. What's different: top tier is square instead of a different shape (round); Instead of tying the ribbon around the top tier, I wrapped ribbon around the base, then made a bow & pinned it to the front ribbon. The weight of the straight pin pulled on the ribbon but a dollop of BC held it in place. Bottom tier is styrofoam, 12" middle; 8" top. All BC w/ edible pearls on tiers. Pic taken before delivery, so no flowers or topper yet.

Choc Ganache Mini Wedding
Pic 1 of 2. Mini wedding cake covered in choc ganache; live roses supplied by bride, & red raspberries. Chocolate fudge w/ red raspberry-choc fudge filling. 9" styrofoam base with 8/6/4" cakes. Stand provided by bride. Also had a 18x22 cake for the guests. My first delivery of a fully assembled cake. It traveled GREAT!!! See 2nd pic of top view showing better view of the raspberries. would have preferred smaller roses with a mini cake. Bride wanted ALL roses used on the cake!

Fielding Wedding - Front View
All BC with edible pearls as accents; 14/10/6. Bride brought me a photo from LaFarine.com website and wanted the cake with slight variations (i.e. no monogram). The design is a little more ornate than the plain scrolls. Cake was assembled on site with flowers provided by bride. Cake table was right by a window so the lighting was not the best.
