Well for the last 1.5 years I was teaching up to 10 classes a month at Michael's as a Wilton Instructor.

I am scaling back from there for many reasons and going into home childcare. I have all my classes done except for first aid, and a business license. Once that's done I'll go for my inspection so I can be registered to run a certified location in the eyes of the county and state.

Right now, I work for an insurance company during the day, teach GED class in the evenings, work the front deask at a hotel two nights a week and decorate cakes every chance that I get. Hubby and I are in the process of adopting a baby from Russia so we need all the funds possible to make it happen.

I was an environmental technician for an oil company in southern Alberta. Then I was a SAHM for 7 years. For the last 2 years, I've been working casual in the health records and registration department at the hospital here. Since I'm casual, I often have days and days off....... that's when I make gum paste flowers and read as much as I can about cakes. I would love to have my own cake shop, but I'm too chicken and just good enough yet, and afraid that I won't have any customers! icon_smile.gif

Can anybody help me figure THAT out?

Here is a change for ya...I am a Correctional Officer at a State Prison in Florida...yes I supervise 144 inmates 5 days a week usually by myself. Luckily I have an office they can not get into. So I am half way safe. The funny thing about it is that my hubby is an officer also. Makes for some interesting conversations around the supper table. I am a Mama to a 7 year old girl that thinks she is still a lap baby. She is our only one at this point so in my opinion she can be a lap baby all she wants. icon_wink.gif Other than that we have custody of my husband's little brother and he just went off to college last August to the best college ever...University of Florida!! Go Gators!! Outside of being a Mama, Wife of an Officer and an Officer myself, I love to bake...especially from scratch. I would love to do more baking than I get to do. Just a little too busy at this point.

I am a stay at home mom to an amazingly cool 13 month old. I made a Winnie the Pooh cake for her birthday last month and decided this might be a fun hobby during naps and after her bedtime. I am the food/nutrition director for a small rural hospital. Been there for the past 26 years. Started this career at age 18. I am married (26 years) to the most wonderful man in the world. He lets me do whatever I want to do. We do not have any children and we spend a lot of our time together riding motorcycles. (yes I ride my own 1300 vtx retro). I have always played around with cake decorating and starting getting really serious about it in the past 3 months. I take all my profit from my cakes and donate the money to my church.

I'm an accountant/auditor with one of the "Big four" accounting firms. I have been so busy with work, but always seem to make out time to bake a cake or two quite often. I also like to drool over the beautiful cakes I see on cake central.

I was an RN for almost 20 years when I came home one Friday evening, and told my husband that I was done with nursing. He wanted to know what I was going to do, and I told him I wanted to do cakes and chocolates.
We opened my business on December 1, 2003 and I love it sooo much. I started here in my home, then went to a shop. The shop was neat, and I loved it. However, it was 189 years old. It was the first schoolhouse for Miamisburg, and the gentleman who refurbished it did a great job. He wanted the original doors and windows to remain, and that ended up creating an problem. With ancient doors and windows, you can't keep heat in, or out, or cool it off right either.
I am back home where I am licensed. I am looking for a new place, but haven't decided if I will go back into a shop. I am doing great here.
We will be celebrating our 33rd anniversary this coming Friday March 20. Our oldest son is 31, and our youngest is 25. I just started taking art classes, as I want to be able to do more with my cakes such as hand-painted scenes on them.
