Ohara---I love strawberries too. I get a case each week from my Sysco man and they are so big and beautiful. I always have to sneak a few while making strawberry shortcakes. icon_redface.gif

Great fun on Facebook...I love my new farm thumbs_up.gif

Still no prospects for a decorator... icon_cry.gif I looked at the calendar today and today was my 12th day with no time off. I was talking on facebook with my Brill rep and asked him if he had ever heard of death by decorating. He said no, well I may make history icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

Actually I shouldn't complain because atleast I have a job. A vehicle to drive me there and back and legs to stand on to work. thumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gifthumbs_up.gif

I know what ya mean Kly! When I was working at Oakwood there were times I would work 40 hrs overtime then sleep 5 hrs a night. I complained like crazy when all the mandatory overtime was going on! Now--- Oh how I wish I could be back there working overtime!
I got out of the house for a little bit yesterday! Went to dinner with my mom and to Wal-mart! I was tired when I got home but man it was nice to have a break!
I am actually going to attemot to bake a cake for my step-dad. His birthday is tomarrow and my DD is gonna help me with it. I will post it if I manage to accomplish it!. The only thing I am really worried about is rolling out the fondant. That is hard work even feeling well!

Hi Ladies! I'm here and I think I'm okay, but am having something strange going on with my eyes, so I have an appointment for Thursday morning to check it out.

I have what I've called "shimmer" lights that form geometric shaped designs, kinda hard to describe. They start out small, usually in a V shape, and over 15 or 20 minutes they spread out until they disappear. I've had them happen once in a while for probably 3 or 4 years, but now I've had one on Thursday night, one on Saturday evening, and again about 1:30 this morning. After the one on Saturday, my DB (who has his own optical shop) said we'd better check it out, and made the appointment with one of his eye doctors yesterday. When I told him about this latest one, he said I should "chill out" until we can figure out what it is. So, that's what is going on here.

Today is my DD birthday, my "baby" is 45 years old! If you're on Facebook you can see her, her name is Dana (Wilson)...her two brothers are there too, Keith and Brian. Lots of cousins, aunts and uncles, etc., quite a lot of family...even my ex SIL and her ex, my ex BIL, and my wife-in-law (ex's present wife). Very interesting!

Clicks are done. Have a good day!

Hey ladies!

VJ, do you think this might have anything to do with your blood pressure? You might mention it to your doctor.

Lildeby, how's our stunt girl doin today? How did your cake come out?

Take it easy with all the overtime, Kly. Get as much rest as you can. Have you had any prospects for a decorator?

Oh, man we love strawberries, too. DH can't have chocolate so I ordered some carob wafers from CK -- they're actually not bad. I made him some "chocolate" covered strawberries. He's never had them before!!

We went for a bike ride on Sunday. Same route, but we were able to finish a little faster. I'm sore all over -- not as much as the first time. I had some cramping when we got home. DH said to eat a banana... I did but then I piled on some ice cream, chocolate sauce and pecans for good measure. icon_redface.gif

Hi ya'll, the eye doctor says everything is okay, my lenses only needed a small increase even after 5 years. He thinks the flashing lights may be a form of migraine. I'm going to talk to my Primary Care doctor on Monday, see what he thinks. My BP goes around 130 for a while, and then drops down to like 116/85 this morning, so I don't know what to think. Needless to say, it seems to confuse my body, and I feel tired a lot...was really tired after the outing yesterday. We had to take my car which has broken air conditioning, and the temp was somewhere around 102. Keith and I stopped for lunch at the Waffle House (a little private joke from Facebook) so we broke it up into small segments of HOT so we didn't expire.

I've been clicking, just not always posting. Hope you are all okay and having a good day today.

Good Morning ladies.

Janice I'm sure being out in that heat was exhausting! It was only 90 here yesterday....and I was worn out last night when we got home! Glad that the eye doctor didn't find anything really wrong. I will be interested to hear what your primary care doctor thinks.

Honeydukes I love your version of getting in your bananas! Here I've been eating them plain! ha!!!

lildeby how are you doing?

Kly you must be working like crazy. I hope your well.

Life has not been very good here lately. We have dealt with some really crappy stuff this week. So yuck I won't even go into details.
I also picked up a summer cold. I have had a fever, sore throat and stuffy nose since Monday. Of course the mama has to just suck it up and keep going. LOL
On a different note they want to put our baby with his older brother (he's 20 months). So I thought they were going to move the baby. But now that it is all playing out.....I think we are getting the 20 month old. So we will have both boys. The baby turned 4 months this week.
I told the agency that I can't take him until first of next week. Our DD is running for Special Olympics this weekend. It is the end of our season...this is the state games. We have to be there all day today, Saturday, and a good part of the day on Sunday. It will be around 90 all weekend. She is VERY excited!

Sorry to be so long. I hope you all are well. Try to keep cool.

Welcome dchhester!! Hope you will become a regular in our little group!
ohara- I hope everythingis going better for you!Wow a 4 mo old and a 20 mo old! U will B busy!!
I have had a very busy week! The cake was ok but not great! I couldn't get down to that level well so some tareing in the fondant and the lettering came out crooked. But all in all it looked good my sted dad liked it and didn't even notice I spelled the name of his ship wrong! icon_redface.gif Then my computer got infected by a virus and had to be completely wiped clean and redone! My DD moved home from GA this week then her b/f broke up with her once they got home! Jack***!!!! He did it on purpose! So he wouldn't feel guilty leaving her in GA!Then sat morn 9 family members and I set out to Indiana for my Gma's 90th bday party! It was good to see her but her alzhiemer's was acting up. Not a good idea to have so many people she was very confused. Then on sunday we went to Ohio to see my Aunt and the graves of my dads parents. Then got home sun night. I am still exhausted! My Dr. frowned on it but understood my gma may not have a 91st bday.
Hopefully the week to come will be boring and uneventful! I need the rest!

Doctor appointment on Monday was okay, had to see a lady doc rather than my regular, and I don't like it when they switch on me like that. She also has no idea what the lights flashing in my eyes is, but we decided to just keep watching...haven't had any since last Sunday night. I've lost 15 lbs, a happy thing!

usaribbon.gifusaribbon.gifusaribbon.gif Happy 4th of July usaribbon.gifusaribbon.gifusaribbon.gif

Good morning ladies.

I did get the older brother on Tuesday. And yes I am busy! A 20 month old and a 4 month old are a lot of work. It will get better when we get settled into a routine. When ever we add someone to our home it takes a couple of weeks to find our "new normal". He is a good boy with a sweet personality. He has some speech difficulties. We need to find a speech therapist. That will be easier said than done.

The last day of Special Olympics went great. Lizzie ended up with a gold medal for the 4x100 relay race. Our girls were awesome! So, all in all she ended up with a bronze for the 100 m race, a silver for the softball throw, and a gold for the relay race. She was a very happy girl. It was a wonderful weekend! We had such a great time.

lildeby I think that it is awesome that not a lot is going on at your house. How are you healing?

Kly I hope you get some time off soon. Are you off today for the holiday?

Janice good for you for cutting carbs and losing 15lbs. How was the blood pressure?

Honeydukes how is the bike riding going? It sure is hot in you part of the world for riding.

What plans do you all have for today?
Today is my son's birthday. He is 24 today. How can that be? We are having a cookout for about 9 of his friends around 1pm. They are all leaving late in the afternoon, as they are all going to watch our professional soccer team play. We are then having friends over this evening. It will be a very busy day. I have most of the cooking done. No cake....none of mine have cake on their birthdays. DS chose Mississippi mud, always a favorite.

Well I hope you all have a great day.((((hugs)))))

VJ, hope you and your mom have a good visit. icon_smile.gif

Have you found any help yet, Kly? At least you have a day or two off for the holiday. Yes?

We've ridden a little, but cannot go unless we get out early. We see people riding at noon and around 6 in the evening. I have no idea how they do it. . . . I actually bought a pair of cycling shorts!! They're kinda expensive, but they have this amazing pad sewn in at the tushy. Nice. Think of a rather thick and quilted feminine pad from front to back. Looks weird, but makes riding so much easier.

Have a great holiday weekend!
