Honeydukes.....I have read that if you put a bowl of vinegar with several drops of dish soap in it and leave it on the counter it will attract the fruit flies and when they get in it the dish soap makes it so they can't fly. I feel for you....I hate when I get them.
We didn't go to the flea market...we decided to hit a bunch of thrift stores around the city. Then we went out to lunch. It was a good day. After we got home we sat out back and let the kids run.
Janice....you can tell us anything. When we had to put my grandmother in a nursing home we did the same, we made her room as homey as we could for her. My mom went almost every day if not every day. (She lived about 5-10 min away). All the folks that lived there were so happy to see her each day. When we would go and take little ones we were almost mobbed. The residents loved the babies. Sad that more people don't go to visit.

I can't believe it's been almost a week since I have posted!! Sorry ladies did not forget about you but have been busy. My sister has been up from GA. and I don't think I've been in bed before 3 am in a week! I told them I am gonna have to rest for a week to recover from this. I am still not healed from my surgery and my DS's keep a hectic schedule when here.
Somethings I have had to just sit out, but I try to go and atleast sit around everywhere they go. Time with the both of them is so precious and few. I have been pushing myself to enjoy it but the pain I am inflicting on myself is unbelieveable!Court was postponed until aug 13th. Probably be December before it gets settled. 
Veejay does your step dad have dementia? The things you say he does sounds alot like my grandpa when he was in the nursing home. One time they went out on a trip to wal mart (before he lost his power of attorny) and he had paid someone 500 dollars(his savings) to purchase a truck and have the guy leave the truck at walmart. He tried to drive back to his home but got lost he was missing for 3 days.Hope u and your mom are well!

Oh yeah ladies ... I forgot to tell you my rottwieler had puppies! There are nine of them. Both mom and dad are rottweiler and the puppies are so cute!!! They are 3 days old now,I won't go out and mess with them for about 4 more days but when I do I will post a picture. She is a good mommy and takes very good care of them.

Thanks, Ohara, I will try that! Thrift stores are almost as good as flea markets; just inside. When my nieces were little we'd put on a CD and they'd dance until they dropped -- then straight into the tub!
I heard a comedian once talk about taking care of her nieces. She said her sister called to check on them and asked about trouble getting them to bed. She answered, "In bed?! We're sitting up, eating candy, and drinking liquor!" She said her only job was to keep them alive. If they were breathing when she took them home -- her job was done. Makes me laugh every time the girls are over. Just keep 'em, alive!

Same here, lildeby, not feeling like talking a lot. Surgeon told me this morning I have a 4-5 inch hernia that will have to be repaired. We set it up for Friday August 7th. The doctor, my son and DIL are all going to be out of town between now and then, so am waiting until they are all back in town. Dr. says hernias usually start from infections, and this one probably happened because my gall bladder was infected. He said a couple of days in the hospital, so that won't be so bad. (I hope!)
It seems my stepfather's mind is gone completely, poor thing. Mother is doing pretty well, she just gets frustrated with DH that she can't get through to him, not recognizing the same thing in herself.
Well, I'm worn out just from the visit to the doctor this morning...time for a nap.

Hello Ladies...How is everyone? I am so sorry I havent posted in such a longtime. Things at work are super busy right now and the new decoartor is just starting to get it together. I'm really trying to be very patience with him.
I haven't read thru all the past posts I've missed yet...I'm going to do that after I post this. So I really hope all is well with ya'll. I have so much exciting stuff going on in my life right now. My Mom has decided to move here to MS. We went and looked at a fabulous house today to buy. I loved it time I drove up in the driveway!!! A person from my past that I have missed more than words can explain has come back into my life...more details to come later on that.
I really havent slowed down any at work...I'm still working 6/7 days a week, but I guess I'm just use to it now. Oh well...

Veejay - I am sorry you are not feeling well! I hope the hernia surgery goes well. My BIL had to have it after he had surgery for diverticulitis and he was back on his feet before he knew it! Hopefully the same will be true for you!!! Until then try to get plenty of rest.

Things are pretty boring around here. I did get a termination letter from the company I worked for. Not going to look good on thier part in court! Judge is already unhappy that they are wasting her time arguing about injuries and withholding payment. DH coming home next week and we are going to attempt to go camping, he is gonna buy me an airmatress that has a frame so it will be like getting in and out of bed. I hope it works!

It was a fairly "normal" week here. We had an end of the year banquet for Special Olympics. It was a fun time. We are going to Illinois this next week to visit family. All our family is there. It is about a 5 hour drive so not to bad... we'll see how the two babies travel. I will be nap time when we leave so I think that they will do just fine. All our kids have been great travelers. So I will be away from my computer for almost a week. We will leave on Tuesday after the babies visit with their mom.

Ohara, you are a genius!!! The fruit flies are all but gone. There is a straggler running around and we're gonna get him soon! That mixture definitely has done the trick. I woke up and saw nothing in the bowls and was so disappointed. Something made me pick one up and YUCK! there they were, at the bottom. So grossed out and so happy! I tried white and apple cider vinegars and the apple worked much better. I threw everything out and wiped down anything that didn't move. I cleaned out the fridge (still sorta empty from when we lost the AC) and cabinets. Found a disgusting black banana at the bottom of the two-tier wire fruit basket! (We eat a lot of fruit.) I cannot tell you how happy I am to be (mostly) rid of them. Isn't it funny how something so small can be so annoying and make your life so miserable???
Babies travel well in the car, don't they. I hear so many parents say how they fall asleep better in a car. Have a great time on your trip!!
Kly, OMGosh. I'm so glad your mom is moving near by. You sounded so happy when she was visiting. I'm glad your decorator is coming along. And you will have to spill (eventually)... this stranger sound soooo mysterious!!

and trying to get my stamina back. Dh had too many errands and a few honey-do's. We found out his sister and her husband ride 100 miles every weekend.

Sounds like everyone has alot going on.Not alot here except the puppies. Lil Girl started out with 9 and now is down to 5 total. One of wich we found outside the pen covered in maggot eggs! YUCK!! We cleaned him and tried to give him back to his mommy and she tried to kill him! We got him away from her but he has a big chunk missing out of his face! So now we are tube feeding him.He is fine and seems strong and healthy though. Well ladies hate to cut it short but it is time to feed the little fellerHave a good day! Clicks done!

Have I told ya'll my Mom is moving here? Well, she is. My brother and his crew packed up her house yesterday and he's headed here today. We also found a new house this weekend and will be moving at the mid to end of August. I love it!!! It's out in the country in a very secluded wooded area on 13 acres with trails for 4-wheelr riding or horseback riding. The only thing I didn't like was some of the colors inside so we are painting this Sunday. As much as I hate moving, I am still very excited about it!!!

"a very secluded wooded area on 13 acres" sounds like a little piece of heaven! DH wants so badly to move out to the country. Not too far out, just enough land where we can't hear the neighbors, but can still see them. I LOVE to paint. I try to re-piant at least every other year -- even if it's a shade lighter or darker than before. It just freshens everything up and makes old stuff look new. What colors are you using??

We lost power AGAIN on Monday when storms moved through here -- actually took a lightning hit. It fried two phones, a modem, router, the printer (which we just bought about a month ago) and our cable. Hoping the printer is covered in the warranty. What is it with the storms over here??!! The electricity was out for about 6 hours. DH stayed home on Tuesday so he could talk to the repairmen. It might have affected our AC, too. It's running, but something's not right. They are coming out next week.
I just don't understand why we always lose power. The neighbors across the street didn't and usually don't. DH says we're on a different part of the grid, but still. Very frustrating!
