All ok here. My mother in law was here all week last week. So even busier than usual.
The babies both have doctors appointments tomorrow.
It is a rainy fall day here. A little cool and some leaves on the ground. It's 12:30pm and it's only 71 out. Soon that will be a warm day.

Janice how are you feeling? How was your visit with your Mom?
Hope everyone checks in soon.

So glad to see you Ohara, and that everything is okay with you...hope you aren't in the flood areas.

Our visit with mother was really good, she gets so happy when we go...she is crazy about my son, Keith. I took her some new crayons and coloring books, she says coloring really relaxes her. I found some good ones with flowers and quilts, she was really happy with those. My stepfather is not likely to be here much longer, he no longer even knows my mother, which upsets her a lot, and he has lost use of his legs and stays in the bed most of the time. Very sad, and the same situation is happening to lots of families.

I'm not feeling well, but still have no answers as to why. I'm just tired all the time and want to sleep a lot. My dr. appt. is Thursday afternoon, maybe some help then!

I think Deby is okay, I see her on Facebook sometimes, but don't know about the others. Take care, I'll check back tomorrow.

Hello, hope you all are okay out there. I'm still clicking every day!

Not much help at the dr., at least no infection anywhere, so that is good. He says I just have to continue taking it easy until everything heals. I guess I just forget how slowly I heal in general, and at 73 it has gotten slower.

Hope the babies' dr. appointments went well, Ohara, and that the rest of your family is well.

Wish some of the others would check in! Jan

Janice glad to hear that there is no infection. Sorry that your such a slow healer. It is hard to feel yucky all the time.
The babies doctor visit was good. They both are well. The 7mo old is small for his age..but healthy. The almost 2yr old is also a little on the small side, also healthy.
We will have a small birthday party this week for his 2 year birthday. That is Wednesday. Not sure if I will make a cake or cup cakes.
It has rained here for over a week now. I am so tired of the gray skies. Also we need to go outside and play.....but not today thumbsdown.gif

I hope everyone is well and checks in soon.

Hi there again, back hoping some of our friends had checked in. Ohara thats great that both the boys are doing so well.

We have had a lot of rain the last few weeks too, but usually get breaks in between so it isn't so bad.

Well, my stepfather passed away last Sunday morning, and his funeral was Tuesday. My mother handled it very well, I think. SF's daughter was her usual self...not worth a darn. Can you believe at her own father's funeral she was wearing an ugly knit shirt and pedal pushers...very tacky IMHO. I'm still very upset too, after the minister's sermon (Baptist) he announced there was no graveside service, we should just to back to the fellowship hall and visit. They put this poor old man in the hearse and took him to the cemetery and nobody went with him! We were actually so stunned with no graveside service, by the time we realized what was happening, it was too late to go. This woman, and her brother, have pretty much ignored their dad for years, and it continued into his death. Very Sad.

My grandson has gotten the swine flu, but seems to be doing well with the medications. He is a big strapping boy, in good health, so hopefully he will be over it soon. He is 13, probably now 5' 10", has pretty much passed all of us except my younger son who is 6'4". My son reassures me that most of the people who have died had lots of other illnesses and problems that Zach doesn't have.

I'm feeling a little better, but still tire out quickly, and some things make me hurt, so they just have to wait until later. LOL

Take care, Ohara, and lets hope some of the others check in soon. Jan

d3sc3n7 no sexist comment at all....you are more than welcome here!!!!

Janice I'm sorry to hear about your stepfather. I'm glad that your mom is handling it.

Keep us posted on your grandson. Scary stuff. I agree with your son though, a young, strong healthy person should do pretty well. Will keep a good thought for him.

Glad to hear that you are doing a little better. It will take time. I'm sure it seems like it has been forever already!

My dad came over for the weekend. He lives a couple of states over. I enjoyed my time with him, just not enough time together. I cooked and baked for him. He is a good subject...he enjoys it so much! He would let me bake bread and cake all the time.

A family friend, who grew up with our son, was killed in Afghanistan this past week. His body came home yesterday. The services are set for next weekend. Funerals are all hard...this one will be just a little more difficult. He and his new wife would have celebrated their 1st anniversary next month. He was 23yrs old.

Take care and keep me posted on the grandson.

How awful the loss of life is . The undescribable grief of loved ones and the inability of friends to be able to comfort the ones left behind! I can't begin to say how terribly sorry I am to hear about your stepfather jan and the loss of such a young and promising life of a soldier! I wish there was something that would make the young widow feel better but there is only love and support. I wish I could tell every person who has lost someone to this war how much I appreciate thier loved ones service and dedication to the protection of me and my loved ones!!
I am so terrified of swine flu! My DD is not healthy she has alot of respiratory problems and I have spent many nights awake worried that she would not wake up from the regular flu! I don't know why but it has terrified me lately. I used to worry like that when she was born, they had to give me tranquilizers to make me sleep after the first two weeks! We have battled many illnesses in her lifetime and why this time scares me so badly I don't know but I can't seem to grasp that she will be ok!!
I am sorry I have been gone for so long !! I have missed ya'll badly. I told jan on facebook just awhile ago that for some reason I had been blocked from cc and low and behold here I am! I was hoping when my DH came home this weekend he would get me back on here but apparently I don't need him now! I cherish the friends I have made here and hope to never lose ya'll! Ohara are you on facebook? You should if not at least as a second contact for us all. The breast cancer site is on Facebook now also!!

You beat me back here, deby! Glad you were able to finally get on CC.

My grandson is doing fine, DS said he probably will go back to school by Wednesday. Hope your daughter is still without fever and feeling better, deby.

Such a shame about the young soldier, Jennifer, and so sad for his wife and family. I agree deby, thanks to all who have and are still serving and sacrificing so much to defend all of us and this country.

Yes, I'm hooked on Facebook too, lots of fun to be had there, plus a great way to keep in touch with friends and family. Lots of CC and other cake people there.

Well, I'm off to bed again...I was almost asleep when one neighbor (not sure which one) turned on the guitar music too loud. If I ever figure out who it is, the mgmt. will stop it.

Good morning ladies! Another busy week. I have so much to get done today it is overwhelming! Today is the visitation/calling hours/viewing....depending on what part of the country you are from. Tomorrow the funeral. I am cooking to take food to the family today. Such a little thing to do, at such a time. My husband has laughed for years that in our family we cook...we cook for happy times, sad times, special times, crisis times... that's what my mom did, that's what my sister and I do. I imagine most women are like that.

lildeby...I'm so happy for you and your lawsuit. I know that getting your benefits will be such a blessing. I'm glad that you were able to get back on CC. You were missed icon_wink.gif

Janice I'm glad that your grandson is doing better. Did you get the flu shot, either or both? I have been meaning to ask...how is your sister in law doing? (if you don't mind me asking)

I am on facebook. Just barely. I only recently signed up. Not sure how much time I will spend there. I don't know how we all connect....as I said I am just barely there. Have a few friends, because they friended me.

Rain, rain and more rain here today. It has rained for 12 hours already, and we are expecting 2 more inches of rain today.

Have a good day friends. Click

Well, first of all, my sister in law isn't doing well, sick a lot, but we don't know what is causing it. I'm really worried. She has lost weight due to not being able to eat and keep food down. She just keeps going most of the time, though. She obviously needs help, but won't go for it. I don't know what you are supposed to do in a case like this.
Just keep her in your thoughts and prayers, please!

No, I haven't had a flu shot, but plan to go ahead and get one when I go to the doctor next Thursday. Yep, seems like a long long time with all this recovery.

I am so happy, got my car back in running shape again and inspected this week, it is 17 years old and beginning to show its age.

Are you on FB as Jennifer Ohara? I'm just Jan Wilson. I think you'll find it comes in handy once you get into it, especially with messages to family. It occupies my time really well, I'm operating 4 farms right now (2 for me, Farmtown, and Farmville) and 2 for Pepper Wilson, I find it a lot of fun. If you have trees, etc. and you don't like where they are, you just pick 'em up and move 'em. Like moving furniture at home, without the backache. LOL

Yeah, we are about to float away around here too, quite a bit of flooding and lots of wrecks due to the weather.

Hope you all are keeping dry and staying well. Jan

Hi all!!! Yesterday my oldest dd was sick so I took her to the dr. They did a strep and fku test and they both came back negative. She doesn't have insurance so they are not sure what is wrong with her. They gave her a braod spectrum antibiotic. I hope that it helps her. Just what she had done cost $105.00 then the medicine was another $53.00!!!
I am sorry to hear about your SIL Jan. icon_sad.gif I do hope that she finds some relief.
Yes it is true Ohara- thats what women do-cook! My BF moved into this rental property and the landlord took to her and her husband as if they were their childeren. Well the other day the two men were out working in the yard and went in to check on the older woman and she was laying in the kitchen floor dead from a massive coranary! So what did I do? I cooked for him took him a cake and a cassarole! I think there is something thereputic about cooking - relieves stress occupies the mind helps you to cope-you know?

I don't think my anti-depressant RX is working, mainly because everything I read, and see on the news makes me cry. So much pain and sorrow everywhere I look.

Yes, baking for a grieving family is done here in Texas, and it does help to be able to do something for them. When my stepfather passed recently, the church ladies made food to serve at the church, since mother and CR had both moved out of their house and there is a renter there now and we had no family place to gather. (Before you get worried, my DIL is going to make Thanksgiving dinner for everyone this year, so we do have a family place for that...and that day is mother's 95th birthday as well.)

I hope you made it through the funeral ceremonies all right Ohara, that is so hard, especially with such a young person. Deby, what a shock that had to be to have the lady pass like that.

My GS is better, but still has fever so can't go to school, or mix and mingle. I'm hoping my DIL doesn't get it, she works with school kids every day. Also, hope that your older daughter is doing all right, and getting better, Deby.

Thanks for your name Jennifer, I'll look for you on FB too. Jan
