All the doctors I saw in the hospital were strangers, never to be seen again once I left the hospital, so now I have to have a regular one.

Lildeby---glad to hear from you, but hate to hear you are in pain. I guess it's good that you are able to get up and walk to help with the spasms.

We had a great day at Special Olympics. lildeby is right....the pride and joy that these kids (and adults) feel is contagious. We all cheer in the stands as the runners come by. I love when they turn to the onlookers and smile. It is a day filled with congratulating and praising. Our daughter runs track. She came in 2nd in the 100m, she also ran the 4x100m relay. She is the second leg of the race... it makes me nervous when the baton gets handed off. They came in 2nd in the relay. The final event that she does is the softball throw. Her weakest event. She did come in 4th with that. This was our last area games. In a few weeks our team will compete in the summer games. We are very excited about that!

Well, the doctor's appointment got canceled/postponed after all. Oh well, I didn't want to go in the first place.

Well, my week is just having flips flops all over...I took Monday off trying to rest up for my pending non-days off. I felt worse Tuesday than I have in weeks. So, I come to work, do some catch-up and get ready to go to Jackson with Mom to get some Walmarting done. My dd calls not 15 mins after I left and my bff has had 3 seizures back to back. I go back to the store and she is still out of it.

Long story short...her Mom takes her to the University Hosp in Jackson...they wait 8 hours in the waiting room!!! Needless to say bff was pi**y by that time and she came home.

Fast track to today...last day for my decorater. UGH!!! But I will prevail. Tomorrow is a new day!!!

Okay, Okay! I went to the doctor yesterday, and low and behold, I liked him! He fussed at me for any number of things, had me to take some other tests, and adjusted my medications. I'll go back on Monday for results.

We've had bad thunderstorms going on here, not bad at all where I live...at least no damage from winds, no flooding etc. We are very lucky! Not so lucky in other areas of DFW where there is lots of damage, and now flooding. Also more storms possible later today, but we all sure hope not.

Earlier today I had a call from Honeydukes, checking to see if I am okay. Where she lives they have been without power since about 7 pm yesterday, and no great hopes for it to be restored any time soon. She is hoping it isn't a repeat from 2 years ago when they were without power for two weeks! She asked me to post so you'd know she and DH are all right, just powerless, and she will be back as soon as she can.

Got power late last night. Just wanted to shower and go to bed. Everything in the fridge is ruined! Just sick about it. I just bought about 10 llbs. of butter for some summer baking -- cookies and cobblers and such. My freezer was full, too. All my nuts for baking! Oh, and DH's steaks we bought on sale for the 4th. We might lose the fridge. It is old and doesn't seem to be getting very cold. We're giving it through Sunday morning and then we'll go out looking for a new one.

It could be so much worse. We still have our house and each other -- we're very thankful.

Hope everyone else's days have been drama-free!

Honeydukes---I hate it you have had such a time...I've been kinda outta the loop here. I know I told ya'll one of decorators quit so I really have to get off my butt and work in the front of the bakery now. That means less computer time I hope your fridge is okay. My washer (RIP) finally gave out after 17 years so I sold the dryer and bought one of those new High Efficiency washers and dryers. The ones with no aggitator in the middle...it hold so much stuff. I love it!!!

Anywho, I hope everyone is doing well despite the bad weather, docts visits and our gosh awful heat!!!

Honeydukes sounds like you have had a rough go of it. I am so sorry. I hate when the power goes out and you lose all the perishable foods. I hope things get better at your house.

Kly I hope you find a new decorator soon. You will be exausted! I will hate the day my washer dies! Mine is 22 years old this year. We bought it in a scratch and dent sale all those years ago!

My friend has gone to visit her mom for a couple of weeks, then she will be back. We have had a great visit so far! When she left for her moms yesterday I realized how much I'm going to miss her again when she leave to go home!
This past week my DH and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. Not sure how all those years passed already! We didn't do anything special for our anniversary. We are taking a trip in October with friends to celebrate. I am really looking forward to that.

Just keep working at it, Ohara, I have to say that...mine ended after 28 years...isn't that awful, to live together that long and then give up! I've been divorced 26 years, and ex has been married to someone else almost 25 years. Yep, you are hearing some regret...

Tomorrow I have PT (here) and go back to the doctor to see what else those tests discovered are wrong with me. I can hardly wait.

I finally got to go for a car ride a few days ago(to the DR) can't ride more than 15 minutes in car right now.Veejay you are not alone- I too got yelled at- I have been taking too much pain medicine but they said not to wait until I rally hurt to take it or it won't help and it only lasts about 1-2 hours so I can't go 3 more in pain! Dr. finally saw my point of view and left me alone. I can't drive a car until after appointment on july 6th!!
My DH is leaving to do some work on tues and my youngest dd is coming home to help care for me. I worry that is alot for a 14 yr old but my mom and sister will be here whenever they can so I will be allright.Just don't want DH to leave because he takes such good care of me! LOL! My DD will not be likely to baby me so much!!

The fridge is cold, but it teeters on the edge of 39/40 degrees which is the highest it's supposed to be. I checked the internet and it seems 34-38 optimal. We're not restocking everything until we find a new one.
We need to replace the dishwasher too, It's been dying an "I Love Lucy" prolonged and overly-dramatic kind of death, but we can wait on that one.

Good morning! Wednesday clicks are done.

Glad to hear that you are mending well, lildeby. I still can't drive either, but in my case it is because my blood pressure is still on the high side. My DS is good to take me where I need to go, and did some grocery shopping for me again on Monday.
All the tests the doctor did last week came out great, no new problems! I'll go back again in two weeks, hopefully BP will have gotten better by then. Therapy is boring, but the therapist is an okay guy, so not too bad.

Grandson is almost good as new now, the antibiotics took care of the strep. The problem now is convincing him he needs another day or two of "recovery" time. LOL

Ohara, glad you understood what I was trying to say.

Honeydukes I also am not technologically savvy. I don't do my space or facebook. I used to get on my space....then I was learning to much about my young adult children than I really wanted to. so.....I quite reading their pages and their friends pages. Me and my friends just call or email.

Kly how is it going with you? With you being so busy are you still doing the Ali diet? I know it's really hard when you are working all the time...much easier to just grab something quick!

We actually have part of a day free. It seems that we have something scheduled all the time. We don't have anything till evening.

Tomorrow evening DD is giving a little speech at an awards banquet thanking the all star football players in the state for including Special Olympics in their week of activities. It will be an evening mixed with excitement and anxiety!

Dr. appointment sucked,,,just before he was going to see me he got called to the hospital... so i was left sitting in back for almost 2 hours!! I was exhausted. Then yesterday morning I fell in my bathroom. I sttood up and my legs just collapsed! I hurt my knee my wrist and back and I hit right above my left eye on the corner of the sink! My whole family is freaking out so I am callin the dr today. I am very sore!!

Nope still no decorator, just me and the dd. We have worked so hard the past 3 days and tomorrow is going to be no better.

Ohara, I am still taking the Ali. So far I've lost 5 pounds. Staying busy keeps me from eating and when I do I just make sure it's something healthy. I'm not sure if I'm going to turn into a whole wheat bagel or piece of watermelon first...

I'm on Facebook too. I never got into MySpace. Facebook is so much easier to navigate. Lildeby---I've tried to find the farm app. with no success...What I am playing is called Barn Buddy. Kinda similar but all you do is plant and harvest veggies. There's a little more to it but I'm only on level 4 so I'm still pretty new to it.

With both FB and MS you only let in who you want. You only let who you want to see your profile, pics and any info...I have re-connected with old school friends I haven't talked to in 20+ years. My id is [email protected]
