Our FORUM shouldn't be a 'peeve' to anyone.... as it doesn't apply to anyone but us writing on it.... and we seem perfectly happy I think!!!

Am procrastinating... ok, will say goodnight to you all, because I know you will all be in bed before me..... and off I go to cover my cakes in white chocolate fondant!!! There... I mentioned cakes too!!!! cake cake cake cake cake cake .......................................

OK Toni.... you can call me Pam (ooooh, aaahhhh) NOW that we're on first name basis I'll expect what all Aussies do - MATES RATES.. Thanks LUV and if I get around to resizing a photo to put on YOU WILL ALL BE very familiar! (Have we set a first on CC - No faces allowed in the CAKE (see I mentioned it too!!) photos - If anybody asks we'll tell them that life size sculpture is the latest rage down under - At least them I can blame my chubby cheeks on TOO MUCH FONDANT or my laugh lines as TOO DRY FONDANT - When things start to sag a bit we'll blame the ganache softening !! MORE REFERENCE TO CAKE - hahaha - this is what happens girls when one is sleep deprived - you sit on the computer at 5.13am and $HIT starts flowing from your brain!

Pam, I thought.... who would be awake now??? I finished my cake which is due for tomorrow afternoon so that is good..... Took photo but light is terrible in house, so will do a better one tomorrow... hopefully the rain will have stopped. I am happy with it, but i think I stare too much at CC because I never really like my cakes when they are finished... they lack that professional look..... I really need to do classes!!!

So.. why are you awake??? It's Saturday.... are you excited about the Grand Final??? icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

My cake is completely thanks to CC though... no ideas from my brain, that is for sure!!! Wanted to say... I also can't find a photo that is small enough to be accepted!!!!!!! I already re-size from original photo download.... am sometimes so ignorant where the computer is concerned.... I do know at least how to shop on the internet!!! So Dangerous!!! So Pam... do you go back to bed... or are you up for the day??? Surely you need an afternoon nap later!!!???

Morning Toni, Yep! up for the day - most days I am up at that time and don't go to bed early (earliest might be 9.30) Guess it is years of cheffing, late nights, early mornings - must admit I don't waste time trying to get to sleep - when my head hits that pillow I am off

Grand Final?!?!?! Sorry - you are heads up on me - my husband is a mad RUGY UNION fan - so not much else features here - BUT he has already headed off to work today, so looks like I get to do all the "at home" work whilst he sips on cappuccino. It is a LONG WEEKEND here so woo hoo I get another day to catch up - think wedding preparations MUST take centrestage - have to get that daughter of mine moving! March will be on top of me before I know it!

Ahhhhhh... a wedding to organise!!! Will this be your first child getting married?? My daughter is only 7, but I feel tears welling at the thought... Much worse when I thnk of my son marrying though!!! Such double standards I know!!!
So... will you be making the cake??? So much work goes into a wedding... you will probably feel the pressure more after Christmas.

Sorry about football comment.... should have realised you ARE NOT from Melbourne!!

My children have fallen asleep not too long ago!! Such a lovely time!

So tell a bit about the wedding?????

Hey guys does anyone know what candy melts are? Is it chocolate or lollies? I've seen it used on a few things here and I'm curious.
Thanks

Yeah I Googled it (and checked out that site) it sounds like chocolate only different cause it says "doesn't require the careful melting of chocolate" icon_confused.gif

Maybe they have an additive in it to stop it from chunking up when heating it. Dunno.

I think its the same as our cooking choc or choc melts/buttons...thats what I substitute it for and works fine...there is a really good online choc supply shop in S.A. they have great stuff and really good service.....she also stocks gold and silver deco paint....its cheaper than most cake supply stores...heres the address:

it is chocolate melts or buttons. You don't have to temper it to mold it...it has something in it that makes it easier to use...not sure what as I have only done chocolate molds a few times

Hey girls,

Just finished and posted my 2nd birthday cake, the reason it is another barbie cake is because it's a bit of a family joke, everyone gets to pick their own cake but then they don't get to see it until it's served, everyone else looks and oohhs and ahhs over it and we joke that it's something it's not, one year the kids nanna teased one of the boys that they were getting a pink barbie cake so we always joke about that now, oh wow great pink barbie cake, so I thought it would be funny to actually do a pink barbie cake. I had a mishap with the doll skirt in that when I turned it out it collapsed, so I ended up doing her all in fondant so I can keep her, and doing personalised individual cake bags for everyone to eat, I think the kids are going to get a huge kick out of getting their own special piece of cake!

This has been one of the most hugely satisfying cakes I've done that's weird isn't it!

PS, My family calls me Tia, that's another story! Hence the happy birthday Tia.

I would have thought that if you can't exactly SEE anything... it doesn't have to be in the naughty section.... I'll go and see the photo first... just thought there may be some bulgy bits icon_lol.gif

Thanks FRAN, have re-sized a photo... still too bloody big for avatar, but I will post one here of moi!!
Difficult to find a photo of me as I am the photographer in the family...my husband shot this one and even though I don't love it.... am struggling for choice!!!

Maria..... my children love your avatar picture... I had to explain exactly what it was.... they make a comment each time they see it!! I too wish shrinking my butt was a simple task... put on 6kg since May and am not happy!!! Having my super fit, extra skinny twin sister here is not helping too much either! YES MARIA, i can just see the type of cake icon_wink.gif that you plan on doing!! Will that be fondant or BC or SMBC or IMBC... I just love when all the abbreviations are thrown in... For example... is DD darling daughter?? I have a hard time trying to work out which relative one is referring to. DH is darling hubby I assume.... could also be d...head which at times is really the same thing too!! icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

There is page floating around here with all the abbreviations. Took me a while to figure out too. I still don't know what some are 'coz they don't apply to me. eg all the BC stuff and IBMC etc...

OH MY GOD !! I just went into the Naughty section --WOO HOO they are really naughty cakes. He He HE.

I just saw Torki's Torso cake. I love it - it's very tasteful if I may use that word.

Funny, you're not at all how I pictured you, but you could be the (much) younger sister of an old (length of time, not so much age) friend of mine. Ain't life strange?
