Applegumkitchen - that is so funny....

I have a 14 yr old DD and my boss who has raised 3 children ( none of his own) - they are nearing their 30's, always gives me advice. He said he used to ring up when they were at parties and claim some lame excuse like, " what time did you want me to pick you up again" etc.... just to see if the parents were home OR if the kids were really there!!!

We have a heads up on these kids who thinkm that they are the inventors of sneakiness...

WE have been there and done that - so Applegumkitchen, YOU must have been a very, very, naughty girl when you were little???

How funny - I can just see a group of kids running to the movies with that "sprung" look. He He He He.

And while I was dreaming Cheryl knocked me and my Patooties off Applegum's pedestal..... damn...and ouch by the way hope nothing hit any of you guys on the way down! icon_biggrin.gif

You guys are hysterical, I think first we should have a bakers' weekend in the country then we should all fly to Toni's in Italy, maybe we can even visit the states and call it Kath and Kim's Aussie Baker's World Tour! hhehehehehe

Hang on whaddaymean Kaf and Kim int real?

Applegumkitchen, just to clarify the first husband is still alive icon_biggrin.gif (abet with some major health issues)
We got divoreced as we 'grew apart'. We went throught a terrible trauma with one of our daughters and basically stopped talking to each other. He was wrapped up in his pain and I was left dealing with everything. He is a wonderful dad to the children, and still my best friend, and infact one of our sons and two of our daughters still live with him. icon_biggrin.gif

The second one I kicked out after he went to use me as his punching bag again when I was 20 weeks pregnant with our daughter. It was not the first time he had hit me...................... BUT it was definately the last. tapedshut.gif

And I am not doing wedding planning full time at the moment because I am studying law. icon_eek.gif Have always wanted to do it so back to uni I went icon_rolleyes.gif

So take me off the pedestal because I think it is easier to raise a larger family rather than a small family, I at least can ask the 13 to get the 2 year old a drink, and there is always someone to play with in our household. icon_lol.gificon_biggrin.gif

Nicolevoorhaut, have the pedestal back, its no good to me. (Am REEEEALLY afraid of heights icon_cry.gif )

Cheryl
p.s also have the 15 DD that has cealiacs disease and is suffering from anorexia at the moment am getting to become an expert at all this stuff, but do you have a recipe for chocolate biscuits that doesnt crumble everywhere. They are such a pain to clean up with the two year old icon_mad.gif

Cherylweddingplanner / lawyer

I have one husband with me , ONE 14 yr old DD, two horses in the purple zone, one dog with a bucket on her head, one cat who thinks she is bulimic and one rooster and one chicken who are not mine but visit every morning for a feed ( and leave messages of thx everywhere)

I have nothing to whinge about.

You are an amazing woman / mother. I bet not many people tell you that.

Cheryl you are a gem
anyone who can raise 9 kids and go through that whole pregnancy thing over and over again, you are a champ in my books. I only have 2 kids 6yo boy + 2 yo girl and that is enough for me. I take my hat off to anyone with more than 2 kids and especially those with life changing problems. I think we kneed a bigger or more pedestals to put you all on because 1 just isn't big enough.

I have 2 sisters in Melbourne who I visit and my mum lives near Marroochydore. So who knows I might run into some of you one day.

PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE, no pedestals. I am really, really, really afraid of heights. icon_evil.gif

All mums are special and we are truely the most under rated members of society. icon_biggrin.gif

And we work for less icon_cry.gif , we get paid in hugs and kisses icon_biggrin.gif , get no annual leave, sick leave, forget maternity leave, public holidays and what about long service , guess the best we can hope for is the kids pick a really nice nursing home for us icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

We are unqualified chefs, accountants, councillers, therapists, organizers, cleaners, gardeners (not me thought, I have 2 black thumbs) doctors, teachers, and the list can go on. icon_eek.gif

My darling BF who has 2 kids from a previous relationship walked into the house one day to find me BF the baby, on the phone to a teenager and stirring the pot on the stove at the same time. icon_surprised.gificon_eek.gif (Mental image: babe in one arm, cordless clamped under the ear and free hand stirring dinner on the stove, do you think I could learn to juggle?)

He HAD a problem with working mums before (only due to one in his office who takes advantage of his nice nature tapedshut.gif ) BUT not anymore thumbs_up.gif . His first wife didnt work, and demanded a nanny because she couldnt go shopping in Toorak with the children in tow. icon_rolleyes.gif

He now has a whole new respect for mums. thumbs_up.gif

And I dont view the children health issues as real problems they are just another learning curve so I can add to my long list of UNqualifications. i.e nutirtionist for the wheat/gluten issue, ent specialist for the 2 DS hearing problems, othamologist for the 18 DS partial blindness AND I didnt have to spend 5 years at medical school to get some letters after my name icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif And I have shown up some pretty arrogant doctors in my time icon_mad.gificon_evil.giftapedshut.gif

(Do they think I dont know how to do research, I have done countless homework assignments and gotten lots of A+, unfortunately they have the kids names at the top of the page icon_redface.gif )

God I am rambling, most log off and go finish the assignment I was working on.

I was just there in June of this year. We went down to the gold coast to do the theme park thing, then back up the coast for the rest of the holiday. My mum lives in Pacific Paradise and I would love to live near there. I love the sunshine coast, its got the most spectacular scenery it changes every few minutes. Its just beautiful.

The bad thing about the time difference is that I am in bed when you are all awake!!! Just took my darling children to school..... it is pouring with rain (I could be in melbourne), and I have come home to tidy and bake a cake... but the computer has seduced me and here I sit catching up on this thread!!!!!!! MARIA We have mosquitos here too in summer... they are nasty...... but just lather yourself with repellant!! The location makes up for it... morning cappuccino in the piazza... dinners outside at charming restaurants..... SERIOUSLY.... everyone who visit sme loves it here... except you have to pay for the beach!!!!!
Have to go to the supermarket... if I plan to bake today!!!! You have all made me giggle, and it is lovely hearing from other mothers.... you realise you are not alone with juggling all the joys of house, husband and children!! Sadly I don't have my beautiful mum anymore so it is nice to hear some good advice from more experienced mums!!!! icon_smile.gif

Can I come out for lunch too? Oh, and if you need anyone to look after your pets, I'm your girl!
My Dad's Sicilian and hubby and I took our daughter with us 2 years ago for a month of Italian touring, it was just the best 4 weeks of my life.
I just said to them both that there was a CC member offering her house in Tuscany, and they both put their hands up and volunteered icon_lol.gif
I would definitely be up for drinks, lunch, whatever, although I'm not sure you will be able to find classes over Christmas anywhere in Melbourne.
I'm in Warranwood, which is about 35 minutes east of the city.
