Applegumkitchen - that is so funny....
I have a 14 yr old DD and my boss who has raised 3 children ( none of his own) - they are nearing their 30's, always gives me advice. He said he used to ring up when they were at parties and claim some lame excuse like, " what time did you want me to pick you up again" etc.... just to see if the parents were home OR if the kids were really there!!!
We have a heads up on these kids who thinkm that they are the inventors of sneakiness...
WE have been there and done that - so Applegumkitchen, YOU must have been a very, very, naughty girl when you were little???
How funny - I can just see a group of kids running to the movies with that "sprung" look. He He He He.
SO hang on while I was sleeping Rickash turned 35 (HAPPY BIRTHDAY) which is me in 3 days and that makes us old! Pish posh young lady! I haven't even had kids yet, so I'm still a baby as far as I'm concerned (remember you're only as old as the man you are feeling )
And while I was dreaming Cheryl knocked me and my Patooties off Applegum's pedestal..... damn...and ouch by the way hope nothing hit any of you guys on the way down!
You guys are hysterical, I think first we should have a bakers' weekend in the country then we should all fly to Toni's in Italy, maybe we can even visit the states and call it Kath and Kim's Aussie Baker's World Tour! hhehehehehe
Hang on whaddaymean Kaf and Kim int real?
Never close your eyes - the world can change in a minute!!!
LMAO !!!
I was telling my DH about the "cakes" we want to make and he said we'll have to lock them up and if the cake goes "missing" we'll have to inspect them for ...
Tweaking!!
Ha HA HA
Sorry Jules, he had a big belly laugh at the vision of cupcakes!!

Look at Mooiiee, Nicole... They're lying! Kath and Kim are as real as real can be!
So, sign me up for that tour... when do we leave? Oh, and we have to stop by Croatia to visit Drgaddy - apparently, all the men there look like Goran Visnic!! (where's the Homer Simpson emoticon? Drooooollll....)
Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL THE BEAUTIFUL SEPTEMBER BABES!!!!! NEXT YEAR, WE PARTAY
Nicole you have the same b'day as my mum! I'm actually going home to visit her for her birthday too, so i'll be up your neck of the woods! (for about an hour while i wait for my connections!) I'll wave as i leave sydney!
And ozcookie i am all up for a stop in Croatia, those boys are so pretty!
Applegumkitchen, just to clarify the first husband is still alive (abet with some major health issues)
We got divoreced as we 'grew apart'. We went throught a terrible trauma with one of our daughters and basically stopped talking to each other. He was wrapped up in his pain and I was left dealing with everything. He is a wonderful dad to the children, and still my best friend, and infact one of our sons and two of our daughters still live with him.
The second one I kicked out after he went to use me as his punching bag again when I was 20 weeks pregnant with our daughter. It was not the first time he had hit me...................... BUT it was definately the last.
And I am not doing wedding planning full time at the moment because I am studying law. Have always wanted to do it so back to uni I went
So take me off the pedestal because I think it is easier to raise a larger family rather than a small family, I at least can ask the 13 to get the 2 year old a drink, and there is always someone to play with in our household.
Nicolevoorhaut, have the pedestal back, its no good to me. (Am REEEEALLY afraid of heights )
Cheryl
p.s also have the 15 DD that has cealiacs disease and is suffering from anorexia at the moment am getting to become an expert at all this stuff, but do you have a recipe for chocolate biscuits that doesnt crumble everywhere. They are such a pain to clean up with the two year old
Cherylweddingplanner / lawyer
I have one husband with me , ONE 14 yr old DD, two horses in the purple zone, one dog with a bucket on her head, one cat who thinks she is bulimic and one rooster and one chicken who are not mine but visit every morning for a feed ( and leave messages of thx everywhere)
I have nothing to whinge about.
You are an amazing woman / mother. I bet not many people tell you that.
Cheryl you are a gem
anyone who can raise 9 kids and go through that whole pregnancy thing over and over again, you are a champ in my books. I only have 2 kids 6yo boy + 2 yo girl and that is enough for me. I take my hat off to anyone with more than 2 kids and especially those with life changing problems. I think we kneed a bigger or more pedestals to put you all on because 1 just isn't big enough.
I have 2 sisters in Melbourne who I visit and my mum lives near Marroochydore. So who knows I might run into some of you one day.
PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE, no pedestals. I am really, really, really afraid of heights.
All mums are special and we are truely the most under rated members of society.
And we work for less , we get paid in hugs and kisses , get no annual leave, sick leave, forget maternity leave, public holidays and what about long service , guess the best we can hope for is the kids pick a really nice nursing home for us
We are unqualified chefs, accountants, councillers, therapists, organizers, cleaners, gardeners (not me thought, I have 2 black thumbs) doctors, teachers, and the list can go on.
My darling BF who has 2 kids from a previous relationship walked into the house one day to find me BF the baby, on the phone to a teenager and stirring the pot on the stove at the same time. (Mental image: babe in one arm, cordless clamped under the ear and free hand stirring dinner on the stove, do you think I could learn to juggle?)
He HAD a problem with working mums before (only due to one in his office who takes advantage of his nice nature ) BUT not anymore . His first wife didnt work, and demanded a nanny because she couldnt go shopping in Toorak with the children in tow.
He now has a whole new respect for mums.
And I dont view the children health issues as real problems they are just another learning curve so I can add to my long list of UNqualifications. i.e nutirtionist for the wheat/gluten issue, ent specialist for the 2 DS hearing problems, othamologist for the 18 DS partial blindness AND I didnt have to spend 5 years at medical school to get some letters after my name And I have shown up some pretty arrogant doctors in my time
(Do they think I dont know how to do research, I have done countless homework assignments and gotten lots of A+, unfortunately they have the kids names at the top of the page )
God I am rambling, most log off and go finish the assignment I was working on.
Hi Guys!
I was posting picture yesterday and saw this thread on the home page. By the time the picture was loaded the thread disappeared and I had to run search on "Aussie" today to find you all .
I'm from Adelaide. Love cakes and decorating. Seen some of your galleries and recognised Aussies from the flowers and fruitcakes
Yeah, another Aussie.

I was just there in June of this year. We went down to the gold coast to do the theme park thing, then back up the coast for the rest of the holiday. My mum lives in Pacific Paradise and I would love to live near there. I love the sunshine coast, its got the most spectacular scenery it changes every few minutes. Its just beautiful.

Again not in my experience, but then again if I attracted men that didn't think the bigger the better I'd be in trouble.....!
The bad thing about the time difference is that I am in bed when you are all awake!!! Just took my darling children to school..... it is pouring with rain (I could be in melbourne), and I have come home to tidy and bake a cake... but the computer has seduced me and here I sit catching up on this thread!!!!!!! MARIA We have mosquitos here too in summer... they are nasty...... but just lather yourself with repellant!! The location makes up for it... morning cappuccino in the piazza... dinners outside at charming restaurants..... SERIOUSLY.... everyone who visit sme loves it here... except you have to pay for the beach!!!!!
Have to go to the supermarket... if I plan to bake today!!!! You have all made me giggle, and it is lovely hearing from other mothers.... you realise you are not alone with juggling all the joys of house, husband and children!! Sadly I don't have my beautiful mum anymore so it is nice to hear some good advice from more experienced mums!!!!
Toni that sounds so divine!!! My partner is sicilian and we would love to go back to 'visit the old country' but we just dont have the money feel free to send us lots of pics! I'll send you melbourne updates! Currently cold again after our beautiful warm days we had, threatening to rain and 18c!

Nicole i just cant picture you... you are always the barbie dolly varden in my head! I think its time for us all to post pics! and not just of our cakes. I like to put faces to names!
I'll start with my most glamourous shot i can find, taken with my apples isight (which in my opinion adds 10kg to the cheeks!)
P.S no making fun of my dressing gown!

I'm a barbie dolly varden in my head too! hahahahahah, oh dear um, ok, this is an old photo of me but probably closest to what I look like now albeit believe it or not a touch heavier. I thought I better post some cleavage! hehehehe why the hell not, if you've got it flaunt it! And my hair is naturally curly but I'm one of those ungrateful people that constantly straighten it! I apologise in advance for shattering anyone's fantasies about me! hehehehehehehe

OK.. just before I now go back and bring children home.... this lunch time finishing is killing me..... Luckily from Monday they go back to finishing school at 4pm!!!!! Nothing in oven yet... but at least got all ingredients at supermarket. I will seriously announce when we will be coming to Melbourne..... and so anyone who wants to house-sit is welcome!!! And otherwise... all the Melbourne girls... it would be great to catch up for a drink (or two)... or lunch or whatever!!! Now the sun is out.... it really could be Melbourne today Back soon.........
P.S. am I a moron that I can't work out how to upload a photo for my 'avatar'..... it doesn't seem to work for me! And how long does one stay a 'newbie'.????? OK... am really heading out the door now.........
Can I come out for lunch too? Oh, and if you need anyone to look after your pets, I'm your girl!
My Dad's Sicilian and hubby and I took our daughter with us 2 years ago for a month of Italian touring, it was just the best 4 weeks of my life.
I just said to them both that there was a CC member offering her house in Tuscany, and they both put their hands up and volunteered
I would definitely be up for drinks, lunch, whatever, although I'm not sure you will be able to find classes over Christmas anywhere in Melbourne.
I'm in Warranwood, which is about 35 minutes east of the city.
all this talk of italy and cleavage.... I've been in bed with a fever and Vicks sinex up my nose so I can breathe. I am so over Melbourne weather. And I have my first non family cake to make for Saturday.
Oh no lilis!!! Still sick! Well i am sick too, tonsilitis blah! Sending you lots of white blood cells and well wishes!
