Well ladies, I'm back from that wonderful hotel I told you about a few pages ago. It was my anniversary present to Jon. Hotel was was great. The jacuzzi was pretty big for 2 people, the 3 sided fire place cranked out some massive heat and having our own private pool in our hotel room rocked----only 1 problem!!!!! Jon had to work late. One of his clients servers was hacked into and crashed. Servers take a LONG time to get back up once down. So I was there mainly by myself the whole time! I was not a happy camper, but what could I do? He has to work to pay the bills. Bad thing is that Jon's client was only 5 minutes down the road from the hotel! So close, but yet so far. He finally just left and came to the hotel at 9:20 pm so we could spend some time together and left at 6:30am. What fun icon_sad.gif Finally got to eat much later at night. I didn't eat anything because I was waiting for him. Our romantic restaurant was closed now so we had a romantic dinner brought back to our room from Wendy's and brownie bites from Meijer. mmmm dinner at 11:45pm icon_confused.gif I'm not mad at Jon at all, just disapointed about the situation. I spent a lot of $$$ getting us this room and neither of us really got to enjoy it.

Tonight I was suppose to work a few hours at the YMCA but had to cancel. And they are ticked off at me for it! I normally can take my kids there while I work if I have too, but I couldn't today. MY daughters have head lice!!! I'm freaking out! They caught it from the Ymca last week and Thursday I noticed it. They must have just caught it once I noticed it because it wasn't that bad yet. But I've heard they are hard to get rid of.
Hate to say this but I'm paranoid!!! I've seen someone with a bone sticking out of their arm and have seen people with blood oozing from their heads and was fine but swarms of bugs are my fear! If I see 3 bugs or more congregating I freak, so you can only imagine how I'm handeling this right now!

Tonight was bagels, fruit and cherrios. my kids were really happy about it at least.

I just refer to it as Blue Box b/c of the commercials they use to have about the Blue Box Blues

Ok...Now I feel stupid. icon_redface.gif I've just never heard it referred to as blue box. Thanks Leily for being so kind with you answer.

Tonight was leftovers. I just reheated the bbq ribs and chicken, added fresh corn on the cob, and a few sides. Easy.

OH now dont' feel stupid! I have referred to it like that quite a bit and there are a lot of people that are ... what is that?

Tonight I made some rice krispy treats for an order and I think there will be a couple of extra for desert! Picked up some pre-made pizza boats at the store when I ran out for milk so I am having a pepperoni one and my BF is having Cheese.

I also made my mom a scratch chocolate cake (using my great grandma's recipe) and it came out great perfectly level in my pans (it fits in two 7" one perfectly!) well I was trying something new and only used my pan grease on one and on the other crisco and flour. I am so mad at myself. I ALWAYS use parchment paper in the bottom of pans and I didnt' on these two b/c I thought they will come out right? WRONG!! I have two 7" cake that the bottom came off. Normally I wouldn't care b/c I could take the rest of the cake out of the pan and put it together when I ice it. But my mom likes this cake plain with powdered sugar on it, I feel so bad, I know she won't care, but it is the principal. Never again will I do a cake w/o parchment in the bottom! (Thanks for letting me rant I am very upset with myself!)

Ok tonight or last night as I speak was what ever you can find. I was working on my nephews 21st B-Day boobie cakes. But I am making chicken rice burritos for DH when he gets home. And I am trying to plan cookout menus for our camping trip.

So far I have beer can chicken, with baked potaoes and baked beans I think.

And my meatloaf patty fiol packet. They have meatloaf patties, Diced potatoes. Diced baby carrots, and onions and pour tomato soup over the top and seal in a HOT BAG. And put on the open pit and turn about every half hour.

And of couse hamburger and Brats. And not sure what with them yet.

I wanted to try some dutch oven cooking but could afford the dutch oven yet. And DD and I are going to work on some of her girl scout badges and haven't figured out yet what we are going to cook yet. So thaey should be fun. I can't wait.

I hope I can check in tomorrow. But if I don't you know I am getting ready for our camp out.

Went out last night. I had a grilled chicken salad.

Kay...I hope you have a wonderful week camping. You deserve a break. I will be looking forward to hearing all about it.

I am catering a wedding Friday night. I should be more excited about it(or should I say about the money icon_rolleyes.gif ). But I am feeling over whelmed. I have to set up tonight, cook and serve and clean up tomorrow. Then over the weekend get everything cleaned and put away. My DS birthday is on the 4th, my mother in law is coming on the 2nd and we are flying out on the 4th in the evening, for vacation. I will need to pack for us all at some point, and we are in the middle of renewing our adoption/foster license. They have to come do the final meeting and house walk through on Tuesday morning. Gee...MIL coming, and a home walk through ......I guess I'll have to clean the house too.

I have no idea what I will make and leave for dinner tonight.

Wonder where Christi's been???

Hope you all have a great day.

well big day! I got my new car! (now just have to sell my old one fairly quickly!) Picked one house guest up from the air port, had the other one drive and arrive today. Baked my last flavor cake for the cake for tomorrow, made all my icings, and have 3 of the 5 at least covered in icing. But I am procrastinating big time in coloring my fondant! I need to color a lot of it brown =( and Satin Ice doesn't make a brown colored fondant that isn't chocolate icon_cry.gif

So what am I having for dinner?!? Ramen Noodles! LOL what a welcome to our house dinner huh? B/c they just left to go to the store for liquer and food.

Well back to the kitchen I think I might call it an early night after I mix all that fondant and cover all the cakes tomorrow. Wish me luck!

leily.....congratulations on the car. I've had mine for 18 months and it's still fun for me ( I'm a simple girl)lol Enjoy!

mkolmar... Everything went very well, but lets just say that there were a wide variety of folks in attendance. icon_confused.gif I was dreading doing this wedding, for some reason. None that I could really put my finger on. So before I left my DH reminded me to think about my upcoming trip to New York City ( first of December), since I am using this money to pay for it. Let's just say that there were a couple of times in the evening that I was working in the kitchen saying over and over....New York, New York, New York....lol
It did go well though, and we were so efficient, that by 11pm we had every thing washed and put away and home.
Today my MIL will be here, she is going on vacation with us this week. I did get most of the house cleaned yesterday. I only have a couple of hours of stuff to do today. Tomorrow, a worker from Children services will be here in the morning to do our license renewal. Then I am having lunch with my wayward daughter...always very hard on me. I still need to shop for my DS birthday (7/4). And somewhere in there I need to go to the grocery store, and cook for his b-day. However he doesn't want a cake icon_eek.gif
He wants Mississippi Mud. Ok....enough
Sorry to go on.......

I did cook last night. We had grilled steak, grilled onions, peppers, squash and zucchini. I do all the grilling at our house and just got a new grill(charcoal). It's large and I have been grilling everything. I loved all the veggies on the grill. I also made 2 cakes yesterday, one for friends and one for home. Yum.

Have a great day ladies....

Kay if you check in while you are in town doing your paper route....Hope you are having a great time. Can't wait to hear about your vacation.

Started cooking for the fourth. The fourth is my DS birthday. No cake for him. He didn't want any. I made Mississippi Mud and banana pudding for tomorrow. We will be having, brats, hamburgers, baked beans, rice salad, chips, taco dip, potato salad and watermelon, banana pudding, and Mississippi mud.
Have a great holiday ladies. I will check in first of the week when we return from vacation.

Thanks for the congratz on the new car! I only had my other one for about 8 months but I put over 40,000 miles on it so it was time for a new one. I did get the exact same brand model just a new year and upgraded to the LS series icon_lol.gif loving it so far Now it is onto a house icon_eek.gif

Well the last few days have been hectic expecially at work with a holiday in the middle of the week and half of the people gone at the beginning of the week and the other half gone at the end of the week and the same thing with customers/vendors/etc... To bad I dont' get vacation this week!

Saturday - Family reunion - Umm do I really have to name EVERYTHING I ate? I don't think I want to admit to everything icon_redface.gif but it was all really good icon_lol.gif
Sunday - Texas Roadhouse - Ribs (OMG they were sooo good)
Monday - went to BF's Dad's house and he grilled steaks (with an awesome marinade) corn on the cob, potatoe salad, grilled red potatoes, and we were going to have left over cake from saturday but well... yeah the steak was just too good!

Tonight... it is 10:30 and I still have to decide what I want. I think I am on my own as they guys (bf and two house guest) are on a REALLY weird sleeping schedule and I think they had breakfast at about 4pm! I did get a nice nap in this evening though so I feel pretty good now, just need to feed my tummy. I don't even have eggs or milk in the house after last weeks cake icon_cry.gif so I can't even get off that easy

Ohara and Kay I can't wait to hear about your vacations! Make sure to keep detailed notes!

Oh mkolmar so sorry to leave you sitting here alone ((HUG))

Tonight we had Happy Joe's Pizza, it was my BF's Nephew's birthday so we got to go out!

Last night I made enchilada's for us and our two guest b/c I am sooo tired of eating out. I regretted it about halfway through though b/c our air conditioning isn't working the best icon_cry.gif

OH and on the 4th of july? Yeah, we drove through Arby's b/c the other 3 in the house didn't move quick enough to go out anywhere icon_mad.gif

(Disclaimer: If you don't like vents please stop reading here, but I gotta let it go somewhere or I will take it out on someone I shouldn't)Can I just say I really like having the company and it is really good to see them since they only come home twice a year, but.... Having 3 guys in the house (that isn't big enough for me and my BF anymore) is crazy!! They are on really weird sleep schedules (sleep from 6am-1-2pm) and I feel like when I come home I am just a hinderence in my own home. I haven't had a hug from my BF in 6 days (I normally get at least 2 a day) I haven't been able to talk to my BF for more than 10 mins w/o interuption or him being distracted b/c when the guest are asleep he is trying to catch up on work. and I MISS HIM!!! I know I shouldn't b/c I see him everyday but I DO! And again tonight they left about 11pm and I got to stay home (trust me I didn't want to go where they were going), but still it would have been nice to do Something with them. Oh and I got kicked off of my own computer! Granted my BF set up another one for me, but you all know it just isn't the same! My Computer is set up right next to my BF's so usually we are sitting right next to eachother, well the one that was set up for me is in the next room and I feel secluded from everyone else.

Sorry to vent, but I needed to get it out, I know it shouldn't bother me b/c I know what to expect when our guest come to town, but it is getting really hard on me to have two of them home at once! And we don't have enough room for me to decorate a cake b/c our dinning room as been turned into an extra bedroom w/air mattress for one of them and that is where I do my decorating, and it is way to hot to bake anything else so I just ... well ... (huge sigh) So nothing that really releives stress for me, oh man I can't wait until we move to a larger home.

If you made it this far, congratulations! I appreciate everyone here everyday, even if I am not posting this site is still keeping me sane right now.

Hey Twin, you better get that breathing test done! You've been putting it off for a LONG time now. I'm not thinking about it too much, I prefer to try not to think about it at all till I get my answer. I just feel pretty weak right now and trying to take care of the kids is getting harder. May be it's a sign I just need to eat more chocolate and sleep more icon_lol.gif

Tonight was whole wheat pasta with marinara sauce, parm. cheese, a little bit of mushrooms and I had sauted chicken (in sundried tomatoes, cracked black peppercorn, salt, basil, oregano and a little garlic.) and of course garlic bread. Strawberry cake for dessert for some with strawberry-banana jello for the others.

I have yet another 4# rump roast in my fridge thawed out so it's probably French Dips again---oh darn icon_lol.gif My DH doesn't like pot roast and asked for more sandwiches instead.

It had basketweave around the cake with a slant edge and flowers cascading down the slant. And then it was iced smooth for alittle section and the the basketweave started again. Kay...I'm glad you had such a great vacation. You are on busy woman. I know your wedding cake will be awesome. And I agree with mkolmar, get those breathing tests done.

mkolmar....any test results yet. I am praying for good news for you. When do you start back to school?

leily...sorry to read about your house guests. You do write a great vent though.

We had a nice vacation. I have never been to Maine or New Hampshire before. We had been to Boston, Mass before, however, the day we were there before it rained 10" that day. So needless to say I couldn't see anything. lol We flew into New Hampshire and then drove to Maine and Boston. I took lots of pictures. The towns look like post cards. I love to travel, but it is so great to sleep in my own bed. I am leaving on Monday though. I am meeting my sister in Indianapolis for a week. It's a girls week, I will take my DD and she will bring her two girls( they are twins). Our Dad is going to come to Indy to spend a day with us. I'm so excited. I don't get to see my Dad as much as I'd like. It's a real break for my sister, as she has 6 kids and will be leaving 4 home.

I didn't cook tonight, we had errands to run, one of which being going to the grocery store. So we ate at Wendy's on the way. I had chili and a baked potato. Boring, yet some what healthy.

I have missed you all.

Jennifer
