That reminds me of that book with the girl statue on the front, and the even worse movie that was made out of it.

Midnight In the Garden of Good and Evil. My Uncle is buried in that cemetery.

Odd movie, never read the book.

I'm ever the oddball!! I liked the book, can't really remember the movie. Image

Makes me so mad. What are people thinking?

I saw that.

I know so many don't agree but I feel for these Mothers that kill their babies. People don't understand how some women's hormones go haywire and they have no control of their actions. They have to live with that the rest of their life.

But with all this coming out and being talked about not hidden away like the old days. When they feel it coming on tell someone, even a doctor. Get away for a day. If the child won't stop crying if you know they are not hungry or need changing then put them in their bed and leave the room for a while to get control of your emotions.

Think about how women are when they have PMS some women experience 100 times that after having a baby. Circuits in the mind just shut off and they can't control it. It it's so easy to judge when you don't understand. I can't imagine what that woman is going through.

We had a woman in this area snap, she walked over to a lake by her house and threw her baby in and it drowned. When the police talked to her she told them she don't know why she did it she just couldn't stop herself. I believe her.

When DD was pregnant her husband told her if you ever feel like you want to hurt the baby call someone it's a sign that something is not right and you can get help.

This reminds me of something that happened years ago in our area. But it was a man and there was no excuse, he just wanted his freedom.

This man was in his station wagon with his wife and three kids. We live by the Detroit river. He drove down one of the main streets that leads into the river and was going fast enough that he went right over the concrete barrier.

The car sank into the river. They were able to pull him and his wife out but the three small children didn't make it. I remember watching the video thinking how could those parents climb into the boat when their kids were drowning. I can't swim but you bet I couldn't just climb in a boat even if it meant me drowning I would have tried to reach the car and unstrap those kids.

Well, no one wanted to believe the worse. I watched the news and they were interviewing the parents. They were sitting on the porch in their lawn chairs talking to the reporters. I told DH then something is wrong. Those parents lost three babies and they can just sit there with no emotion talking about it.

It came out later he did it on purpose. I can't say if the Mother was in on it but she was convicted and went to prision. They could prove how fast he was going to skip over the barriers. He said his foot was stuck on the gas pedal. They had other evidence on him. He is in prision too.

Speaking of the Detroit river. I've stood by many times and watched it, you would not believe the current it has. The say when divers have to go in it is so murky that they can't see their hand. There is a lot of bodies in the bottom of the river from the Mob days. There are people that still fish there - ewwwww.

Here lately she's been "needing" help (we still make her do it) and been dancing around and/or waiting until the last possible minute to go. Yesterday she was at the park, said "Mommy, I have to go potty." I barely started saying "Kairi, you have to hold it til..." and she peed ON ME! She'll say she's gotta go, and the potty won't be put together and instead of putting it together, she does the pee pee dance back and forth, then when you make her stand still and do it, she usually pees on the seat before getting on. I don't get it. She was perfect for a while? How do you strengthen those muscles? At what point does she start getting in trouble for not making it there? I know they say potty training is a positive thing, but this seems past that point.

That's natural and will resolve in time. Heck I still do that. Sometimes I'm busy and think it can wait. By the time I get there I don't always make it.

What happens with kids they know in advance when they have to go but they don't want to stop what they are doing so they wait until the last minute. In time she will learn that she has to tell you when the feeling is first there.

Let's face it - it's an inconvience to go potty.

No, Cookie Monster has been wronged, he has just been pushed aside.

My DD said they even re-named him to be polical correct.

My husband was outraged that they made him eat veggies now too and not just cookies. He's COOKIE monster for crying out loud. I think parents need to be better role models for their kids and leave the pc stuff out of cartoons. Of course most of the cartoons now suck and are too violent for kiddos anyway. My dads favorite was always the old guys in the balcony. Anybody remember them?

I don't get why the cookie monster is wrong. You can have a cookie the parents just need to teach them when is a good time and not too many.

Another example of parents too lazy to teach their kids.

Janette, I agree with you. DH got called so many times to come home from work - his mom used to come over. I freaked out many times, but I warned everyone before I even had kids that they better come when I call - I didn't want to be one of those mothers.

Hahaha! Hilarious. So funny.
Reminds me of that joke...what does a 90 year old woman taste like?

....Depends.

I know, I know. ew. So now to share my embarrasing story. I can't believe I'm going to do this, but I don't have to look at you and I can't hear you laughing at me.

SO, My boyfriend and I were walking the mile home from school. (High School, I was a senior--too damn old to be doing this...) I knew I had to go pee, but I was with my man and we had already left school. About 5 minutes (we walked r e a l l y slow) from my house, the urge started to grow. I REALLY HAD to go. We were getting closer to the little shops and I was thinking, I'm so close to home, I'll be fine. All of a sudden it was like when you're pregnant and you gotta go NOW. I HAD to go, I was either gonna pee down my legs or find somewhere to go. There was a grassy knoll in front of a pre-school/daycare. I flopped myself down on it, pants and all and peed. (I had a large swim parka that didn't get wet and covered for the way home.) Meanwhile, I hadn't told John any of this. He just knew at some point I broke lose and ran and sat on the hill. I wouldn't look at him and told him to go away. He wouldn't! He wanted to know whats wrong. I told him "GO AWAY!" He wanted to know what he had done wrong. So under my breath and quietly I explained the situation. WHAT!? YOU DID WHAT?! Shut up and start walking. He helped me up and laughed at me the whole way home, but tried to be sympathetic as well. I don't know why in particular that day I HAD to go, but I did. Then when I was pregnant, you never saw your waitress leave the table so fast....
