Karate: I am just curious how you have a screen name of "karate" ... Without going through 137 pages of posts, I'd assume you take karate; but I didn't notice it on your exercise program (unless I missed it). I'm 47. I have been taking karate for 9 years; so your name caught my attention.

bethyboop - welcome! You're off to an awesome start. And it helps so much when you've got someone (like your spouse) to go along with you.

good luck! I'm looking forward to getting to know more about you!

Of course you can joing Bethyboop! The more the merrier! icon_biggrin.gif
Last night was a somewhat easy night for exercise for me, but when I woke up this am my tummy looked a little better for it.
Here is my exercise log entry:
Crunches  100  reps
Combo Hinge Crunch  100  reps

Tonight I have a chiro appt, my tailbone feels like it's all jammed up, probably from jogging in the wrong kind of shoes. But I just picked up some running shoes this weekend, so that should solve that problem. After my chiro appt I'm going to Bally's to work out again. icon_biggrin.gif

Carol you are doing great on your workouts. It is nice to have a work out buddy, keeps both people accountable to someone when either one doesn't want to work out.

Tina, too bad on not being able to work out. Be careful with the cut on your foot, those can get bad!

carol, keep working out and getting that little bit of "me" time and sanity, this will keep you going with your new business and busy life to come!

bethyboop, of course you can join we welcome everyone who wants to make a change in their lives! I am 5'5 and was 216, I have lost 8 pounds. Not much considering that I was one of the first ones here over a year ago. But I wasn't in the right mind to loose. that is always the first step! Now that I am, I am trying harder, it can be done and we will all do it!!!! I too am big breasted, it sure does make working out harder, we almost have to tape them bad girls down so we don't get black eyes!!!

LittleLinda- I was training when I was in my early 30s, I trained for 5 years and was 6 months from my black belt, when things got crazy in my life. I had to evaluate all of the things that were demanding my time and of all of them Karate was the least important, which was too bad because I gained so much confidence (I was an introvert, and still am a bit) but taking those classes, taking the tests, doing tournaments pushed my comfortable envelope wide open and I learned that I could do anything I put my mind to. I loved it and just hated to leave, but at that time I worked full time, which included quite a bit of travel....I still have that job and still travel. I was going to college part time.....thank goodness I graduated. My mother had just passed away and I was taking care of my father for the winter.....since he has healed from his broken heart and remarried. I now have just in the past 2 years gotten a boyfriend and his family is huge and I once again have very little extra time. I have thought about going back, but at 41 I just do not have the heart to fight, I hated it then and would sooooooooooo hate it now. If I could just do the Kata's and the general workouts without having to Kumite that would be heaven!!!!! Anyway that is my story, I still use Karate and my old style, Wado Kai, as my names because even though it has been many many years since I have quite, it is still in my blood!

I got up and worked out this morning, not has hard as I should or as hard as I want to. I sure have been in a slump lately and need to get out, my travel season starts next week and I know I have no time nor any place to work out when I am out of town!!! At least I can watch what I eat and make sure that I have a salad once in the day, that should help a little.

Is Kumite doing tournaments? Your school forced tournament participation?

Kumite is fighting. We had to fight in class, to get used to using the techniques that we would learn in the Kata's. No they didnt force tournaments, but they were recommended, and were required to do at least 1 before we could test for black belt. What style are you? Do you enjoy it? What level are you?

I got up and worked out this morning. Glad for that it always feels good when it is done. We had Burger King for dinner. Not the best I know. Neither of us felt like cooking.......

How is everyone doing?

I worked out at Bally's last night after my chiro appt. I wore this fleece stype work-out pants, I got very sweaty and stinky wearing them along with my sports bra and a t-shirt on, but I wanted to try to burn more calories.
Here's my exercise log entry for yesterday:
Elliptical Machine  20  min
Inner Thigh Press  30  reps
Outer Thigh Press  30  reps
Prone Stationary Bike  10  min
Crunches  100  reps
Bicycle Crunches  100  reps

I personally haven't.
Yesterday I decided to wear my high heels to work. Well, I had a nice close space to the door so I could leave asap for my doctor appt, but when I came back I had to park out in Timbuktu and had a good 10 minute walk up to my desk and then when I went home 10 minutes to my car. I also did a little walking around with some errands when I got home from work and I didn't have a chance to change yet. The good thing about this was that when I woke up this morning my body was toner looking. thumbs_up.gif
Other than yesterday's walking I didn't do anything else, I was too exhausted to even do my crunches.

Happy Saturday everyone

I took yesterday off from work. I did not get up and work out, but.,....

I vacummed the whole house, washed the tile areas (kitchen, dining room and all hallways), cleaned the kitchen, straightend up our computer desk. I believe these chores were far better than any 30 minute walking on the treadmill!!!!!!!

I will clean the bathroom today so there is my work out again.

m0use, I havent worn high heels in years, I have started again, and boy do the legs get a great workout!

Sami, not sure what medifast is, sorry

holy cow!!! some of you have been VERY busy! congrats to all of you for doing it....
sorry, I am not a frequent poster, but i do read every day. I dont have the time to post everyday between work, family, exercise, sleep and down time...where do you find the time to post icon_razz.gif

This past week, I have walked 2 miles every morning and worked out to "biggetst looser" every night (except last night..I needed a break). in addition to exercise, I am also counting points with weight watchers. this week I have lost 4 pounds! before I found this post, I was at 242. Now I am at 233.
I find my motivation by making it "my time"...ya know. We spend so much of our day doing a "job" for our boss, our family, PTA, etc...I just got tired of working for everyone else, and in addition to that, getting up with to a lousy alarm clock for my dredded job. So, I just decided that what difference does 30 minutes really make when i am half awake anyway just too lazy to get up. So, this week, getting up for me and not for my boss or anybody else has been my motivation. I have to tell you, I feel GREAT, as I am sure the rest of you do to. 30mins a day, why is that so hard???

have a great week, I look forward to reading your successes and encouragments to one another---what a great bunch of people!

Hi all
Got up and worked out this morning. Glad for that! I didn't work out all weekend, and was very lazy both mornings. Had family gathering time both evenings, and you all know for me that means a lot of very good (tasting not good for me) food.

The worst part is I start to travel on Wednesday. I will be gone for almost two weeks straight. I will be home 1 1/2 days between my two shows. Will try to post during that time, I dont take my computer on the road with me so will be out of touch (computer wise). If I can borrow a computer I will post at least a Hi since I wont have much time or place to work out while gone. I will however keep a lid on my eating, this should help!

Bethyboop, great job on the working out. It does feel good to take time for you huh? I dont have children, but do have a DBF and he can sometimes be like a child!!! HAHAHAHA I tried weight watchers on line, but found the weekends I didn't log in and track my food intake, wasn't really working for me either. Great you are doing so well!

Tina: get out there and job girl. I, being large on top can not run, hurts too much! Not to mention I just HATE!!! running. HATE IT HATE IT HATE IT HATE IT!!!!! I could walk till the cows come home. Put me on the tread mill, give me a movie or TV to watch and I can walk at 3.0 witha bit of an incline and I am happy, could do that for 1 hour (if not at 4 AM, which is my usual work out time).

OK well I better run and get some work done.

I didn't exercise Friday night.
I walked/jogged a 1/4 of a mile Saturday with the In-laws dog and I then did 100 reps each of crunches and bicycle crunches.
Did exercise Sunday because I was on my feet all day cleaning my kitchen, baking cakes, and doing some laundry late into the night.

Hi Everyone,

I guess this post it's been going for a while now, but here I am on my start day!! I'm 29- 5'7- 241 lbs icon_cry.gificon_cry.gificon_cry.gif

Anyway is a long story I was able to loose 40 pounds 10 yrs ago (got down to 145 lbs) and kept them for almost 4 years but after my mom past away (6yrs ago) and 1 pregancy this is getting worst every day.

So I think today is a good day to start and I feel I will have the strenght to do it! I've pray about it, I talked to my husband about it.... so it's time to start!!

Anyway, as many of us around here I'm addicted to CC icon_rolleyes.gif so it was good to see that you guys share experiences and motivate each other; I hope I'm still on time to join the club!

Have anyone ever used Nutrisystem? Maybe you already talked about that but I really can't search 138 pages!!! Any feedback on that program?, I'm about to order at least 1 mth of food from them but I'd like to know if someone around here have already tried it (sometimes you wonder how real eopinion's posts are....???) does it work??

Thanks!!
Nyma

Welcome Nyma. Anyone is welcome to join at any time!
I also wanted to try the Nutrisystem, the reason I didn't was because I thought it was a full weeks meals already prepared and all I had to do was take from freezer and heat up. Someone told me that some of it was just starter ingredients for meals and you still had to add things and cook. Now dont get me wrong, it wasnt the cooking part, but if that was the case then I still had to make two meals, one for me and one for DBF.

If you do decide to try it, make sure you post here how you liked it.

I got up and worked out this morning. I did find out that both of the hotels that I will be at for the next two weeks have work out rooms, so I can try to keep up at least partially with my work outs.

Everyone have a great two weeks.

Hi everyone,

I haven't posted in awhile. The weight has been coming off slow lately, but at least I'm still losing. I got a little bit of a boost this past week. I have been working out at Curves 4 times a week. I lost 7 pounds since May 1st. They have a six week competition going on. I'm excited about that. Also, I have been chosen by Woman's World magazine to try out a new diet for them. It will last for two weeks. I don't know exactly what the diet is or how much I can disclose, but I will tell you all EVERYTHING I can as soon as they let me know all of the specifics. The only bad part about it is that I will have to stop taking my B12 injections and pills to participate. Well congrats on everyone's progress, and good luck!

Looks like everyone has taken a break this week. I am back today, but then off again tomorrow for my second business trip.

I worked out one day while at Disney, then walked all day one day at the Disney MGM Studios.

I watched what I ate so didn't do too badly I must say!

How is everyone doing? I know that Tina has had computer trouble and it is in the shop so she will be back in a few days. I will be back in about a week. Until then everyone lets all get back to posting everyday!!!!! At least a little something.......

Hey Everyone-
I haven't forgotten about yall, but I've been busy training at work, so I can't get on here as much as I would like.
Quick summary-
I started a diet plan, yes an actually keep me on track for eating food diet plan. I bought the book "The Biggest Looser" @ Barnes & Noble because it is a real diet plan that I can do.
Breakfast = 1/2 protein serving, 1 whole grain serving, 1 fruit serving
Snack 1 = 1/2 protein serving, 1 fruit serving
Lunch = 1 protein serving, 1/2 whole grain serving, 1 vegetable serving
Snack 2 = 1/2 protein serving, 1 fruit serving
Dinner = 1/2 protein serving, 1/2 whole grain serving, 2 vegetable servings

I feel so much cleaner feeling when I started eating like this. AND it is helping me drop pounds when I do my exericising.

Health Update!!! I had my bloodwork re-done last week and met with my doctor last night, everything is back to normal! Yay!!!!! She said though keep going on the vitamins and accupuncture as needed for another 6 months to prevent a relapse. I'm so happy! I showed her my diet plan and she approved it and was glad to see that I'm seeing results from it.

I will keep you updated when I can, but I'm still keeping my exercise log going, and I'm doing a food log now too.
Bye!

Just stopping by to say Hi, don't want this thread to get lost.
Good news, I've been on my new diet plan for almost a week now and I am very happy with the results. I am currently at 146.8 lbs. I feel so much cleaner now body wise with my new diet. It feels great to whole wheat products again, I haven't had them in forever. I've been able to switch my hubby and my son over to whole wheat tortillas and whole wheat spaghetti, we're already eating whole wheat bread.
I'm still on my exercise plan, except last week I slaced due to having to get a big shower cake prepared, everyone loved the cake, and it was SOOO yummy. I'll post pics soon, I promise...
As soon as I am done training I will be here on a regular basis again.

m0use - congrats on your doctor's appointment! That's awesome. Is your energy back to normal?

Also, congrats on the new diet plan. That's so exciting that it's working and you feel so much better. I need to get started on a diet plan once we move. I'm in Atlanta right now visiting family. My brother and his wife went to Mexico so my mom and I drove in with the boys (10 LONG hours in the car with a 4 year old and 2 1/2 year old) so that we can watch my 2 year old nephew while they're gone. I also have a sister that lives here, too. We'll be here through the 26th. The bad news is that we're supposed to be moving next week so my hubby is going to have to facilitate the move without me. I planned this trip back when we thought we'd be moving in April so when our move got bumped, hubby told me to still definitely still come on this trip.

The good news is that I get to visit Nicholas Lodge's shop while I'm here. I'm very excited about that! Too bad he doesn't have any classes scheduled that I could have signed up for but I'd love to just see his store.

My energy levels are just about back.
Last night hubby and I went to see a band that his co-worker is in, so I was dancing like a mad woman last night. I was pretty happy to see the weight on the scale this am say 146.2 lbs.
I'm at work today and totally don't feel good though bcuz I did some shots last night and I'm on 3-4 hrs of sleep. icon_sad.gif
Also, last night we went to a little carnival that was being put on by a local grocery store, had half a hamburger (gave the rest to hubby) and then went inside to the grocery store and got a small salad for myself off of their salad bar. icon_biggrin.gif
