Hi, I'm Trace and I'm trying to loose weight. HeHe. Okay sorry. I'm 27, 5' and in Mid Jan weighed, eek, it's sooo hard to say this outloud but, I weighted 183. As of this morning I weight 171.

I vow to continue walking my 3 miles every day. And to start doing those exercise videos that have been sitting on the coffee table for a week now.

Also remember if you want to do an official weekly weigh in, then the best thing to do is weigh yourself the same time of day ever time. Your weight changes many times during the day, so if you pick the same time to weigh once a week you will have an better idea of how you are doing. My offical weigh in is on Tuesday nights at 9pm.

I also challenge everyone out there to not only to read but to pay attention to the calories in the products you buy and eat, but also to the serving sizes.

Some things that have helped me lose what I have is that I gave up cokes, and replaced it with mostly water and tea. Occasionally I will have a Diet Citrus Lipton Green Tea. I also like those Crystal Light packets you put in your bottle of water. I have also tried to replace junk food with healthier snacks.

Another thing that helps me is single servings products. Those 100 calories snack packages are great. If I have a whole bag of cookies, then it's harder to stop at the suggested serving size.

I'd love to do the update thing, and I can understand the now necessarily wanting to do it in public. My only problem with Emails is that I am already getting enough emails from other places. Plus if I have a ton of emails I am really bad about putting them off. So I suggest an Yahoo E Group. You can set it private so the world can't see. It will give a place to support and share ideas. If emails work great for you, you can set it to recieve emails. If you like a place to go and read, then you can have that too.

I have to go teach a class tonight. But when I get home, if everyone is for the Yahoo E Group idea, I'll set one up for us and share the link for it.

I did look in the mirror.........yesterday, and would you believe it????????????? I couldn't stop staring, first this angle then this one, then this one....i was so grossed out!!!!!!!!!!! My first child gave me a ton of stretchmarks........EVERYWHERE! I about cried, but I didn't (this time). There have been many many times where I've gotten out of the shower crying.

My dh says, why do you put up with it? why don't you do something about it...NOW?!?! (because I always say I'll do it tomorrow or I'll do it starting mon.) But, he says if its worth doing, it's worth doing right and if it bothers you this much, start doing something about it now!!!

enough about him! LOL!

I think another thing is that I have been a sahm for the past 5 years and I feel like I WANT OUT!! But, I couldnt' EVER stand the thought of anyone else taking care of my children!!

I have been horrible for YEARS now telling myself that I would do it tomorrow, next week. I'm a HORRIBLE procrastonator.

I started in steps and that has helped me be able to do it. If I would have started walking, better eating and everything else all at once I would have gotten frustrated and wouldn't have made it very far.

Start by walking 20 mins a day. Or 15 or what ever you can manage. I think it is easier to start smaller with the walking and work your way up. Take it from a girl that jumped in to 2 miles a day. It made it harder sometimes to want to get out there and do it.

Then after you get use to walking, work on the eating thing. Then when you feel you are doing okay there add something else.

For me the key is to change my life to a way that is better and healthier but still doable and manageable. I have to do something I will stick with, other wise losing the weight is not going to do me any good if I can't keep it off in the end.

I have walked every day for 5 1/2 weeks. I never skipped a day because I know how I am, and if I was to skip a day then it would make the next time easier to skip, and I'd end up not doing it at all. It's not like I love walking 3 miles on the treadmill every day. I just know I have to do it, so even if I put it off until late evening I know that if I want to do it, I just have to get out there and get it done.

(Please keep in mind, everything I say is what has worked for me, or what I feel and believe. It may not work for everyone or others might not agree. thumbs_up.gif )

Hi Everyone,

So far there are 8 of us who are IN!

I think we should stick to this public "outing" of our weights right here!

It helps with motivation and since I put the challenge out there (inspired by mmdd in her post NOT HAPPY!) I will be MAKING SURE we don't "drop off" and get lost in the forums.

I have started an Excel worksheet with our names, starting weight and goal weight, I have made room to enter our weekly weights so I will know if you have lost motivation and not weighed in!!!!

IF your in for a penny, your in for a pound!!! as the saying goes so lets get going and loose some pounds (or KG!!!)

I'm off to do my 30mins of skipping RIGHT NOW!!

Sandra
82.2KG!!!

Ok, sandra, I just really want to know what does your weight convert to in pounds and what does your goal weight convert to in pounds?????

Also, since you decided to get excel involved in this, hmm............I guess I better be posting in a week or you'll come and hunt me down huh?!

Ok I went to this site and found a conversion calculator from KG to pounds.

http://home.earthlink.net/~sensei11/convert.htm

I weigh 181.2lbs and my goal weight is 132lbs

so I need to loose 50 pounds!!

Sandra
181.2lbs!!!

I'm all for "outing" our weight here, plus, if new people want to join, there would always be this thread.

But, it might not hurt to have a yahoo site, like Texas suggested. There, if we have private issues that we need to deal with to get us through the day, it would be more private. We could also post some recipes & tips over there, and we wouldn't be taking up as much from this site.

Just a thought icon_smile.gif

For those interested in the Yahoo Group, here is the infomration for it. I did set it up as a unlisted group, so people won't just come across it. Plus I did set it up as a member's group so only group members can post.

Group Email Addresses
Post message: [email protected]
Subscribe: [email protected]

It's been a really long day for me, so tomorrow I will add some websites and such that I have come across that may help others.

As mentioned above, there is a section for site address, as well as a section for files that would be a great place to share exercise ideas as well as healthy recipes and snacks.

1st, you guys are hilarious!

2nd, I'm in. I am 5'1" and 140 lbs. I'd like to be 115-120.

I have 3 kids - ages 11, 2, and 1. I am going to get my bike tires fixed this weekend so I can take the kids bike riding (they'll be in the buggy, not the 11 year old... but you get what I'm saying....) =)

alracntna, You could use your weight loss to drumb up business, make up a flyer.. work wanted and your number and a few details about the work your husband does with your business and do a letterbox drop or tape the signs to poles etc... while you walk.

use one to help the other!!!

Ok, I had planned getting on the treadmill this morning, but it felt so much better to just lie in bed with hubby; and then the kids woke up....so had to get up and take care of them. But, we're going outside here in a bit and going to plant some flowers and some landscaping (put some wood chips down and make the outside pretty) Of course we will play ball outside with the boys, so I feel I'm gonna do ok. It's funny, though, I don't get hungry until I am hungry. Iknow that sounds weird, but sometimes just sitting around or even while cleaning I'm like: I WANT CHOCOLATE!!!!

Well, I will catch up with you ladies later, just wanted to check in!

Good Luck everyone!!!!!!!!!!

And, socake, let me know when you need a new jump rope....I'll buy ya one, lol! (Imight have to buy myself one.........I have 5 sports bras, but I still think they'd jump up & knock me out "DD")

Ladies,

May I join also? I am 52 years old, that would make me the oldest, I think. I am 5 foot tall and weigh 150 pounds. icon_cry.gif I'd like to be 108 but that is probalby unrealistic. I'd settle for 113-119. 119 was my old Weight Watcher's goal 22 years ago.......

I'm heading into Passover, which is a VERY Foodie time of year. If I can hold the line for the enxt two weeks I'd actually be doing OK. Started Jazzercise again three weeks ago after 20 years and trying to get back to going to the gym regularly.

Can I play with you, Can I, pretty please?

Shalom,

Alrighty then - I've got through both threads and here I am!!
I'm a SAHM and can relate to every single post so far!!
So, count me in!! I'm 5'3" and weighing in at 218. The highest I've ever been! My goal is to get down to 135. That seems like so much!! We just bought a treadmill a few weeks ago and I've only used it 3 times. So, I promise I will use it at least 4 x's a week, for 45 minutes each time, for the next two weeks! No more sodas and stop snacking on the cakes!!!

I love this! I have to admit that yesterday I didn't excersize we had to leave early to bring my boyfriends mom to the airport, then we came home and made tacos for dinner. They were way too good. I will be outside today with my family walking around with their kids finding easter eggs, the city has an early easter egg hunting day. I will come home and get on the treadmill this afternoon.

There is a FREE website at

http://www.sparkpeople.com

where you can sign up to help you keep track of the food you eat and the exercise you do. It keeps track of calories, carbs, proteins, fats, etc. when you enter what you eat. When I used it, it helped a lot. I need to start using it again. It is amazing how much more control you have of what goes into your mouth when you write it down. It elso helps you figure out how many colories you can eat in a day to reach a certain goal by a certain date. You can even input nutrition labels from foods you eat a lot and it will keep them on file as your favoirites, so that when you eat them you can enter them really easily. You can put in all the exercise you do too. Iit will graph your progress as you lose weight and inches and track all your nutrition info. Not bad for a freebie!

Just another tool to help us. I feel motivated this morning, just knowing we are working on this together icon_smile.gif

Shalom,
itsacake!

I was watching a show on tv the other day and it said that if your walk on a treadmill, you'll get better results if you walk on it inclined...instead of flat. I may be wrong, but I believe they said walking "up a hill" is even better than running on flat ground.

Has anyone else heard this?

I can beleive it. Walking up a hill adds more gravity to your excersise and less unnescary and unhealthy strain and shock. Running adds unescary shock to your legs and knees. I guess i'd think of it as waking with weights on. I hope i remembered that right.

just a weight loss tip ladies... its best to have a BIG breakfast (consume most of ur calories for the day here) cuz then u have LOTS of energy for the day AND u burn most of it off by doing simple things through out the day!

good luck ladies!!

How is everyone going???

I made a cake today!!!....I ate some cake today!!! I'll be skipping twice as long tomorrow!!!

I think that I will add as part of my plan that I will not eat more than one small tester when I level the cakes I make.

Having a background in Food Technology and being a Quality Assurance Officer when I was working makes me need to taste everything but i just need to work on how many times I taste things!!!

I hope we all keep this up, It will take a long time to reach our goals but we will all feel soooooooo much better when we do.

On thursday when we all come back with our weights and advice for each other we need to keep in mind that we are all different and we may not see the results we are hoping for. DON'T GIVE UP!!!! Keep going for your goals, you will get there in the end!

Weight loss is a hard thing to measure, You might find that your weight stays the same for a while but all your clothes will seem to be getting looser as you change body shape!

Keep up the good work!

The easter egg hunt was fun. The eggs were the plastic kind, they didn't have anything in them. The kids had to bring them up to the table hand them in and then they got a very SMALL bag of candy (4 pieces). It was put on by the city. So I didn't have to resist any eggs!! I haven't been on the treadmill since Friday, not so good, but will today. I left the house yesterday at 8:30 AM and didn't return until 12:00 AM, was busy all day, maybe all the walking I did helped a little.

I tried to get onto the yahoo group, but was unable. I click on the link and I get my old MSN sign in page. I don't use MSN any longer.
