Well,I go out of town an this is what happens...I MISS A REALLY HILARIOUS THREAD !!! I am just now getting to this GE978 and have not done anything but laugh... But on to my worst cake...I don't have a picture because it was very long ago, my first cake and Iwas angry..so any how here is the story...My first cake was supposed to be a black cat popping out of a pumpkin. now mind you I was also 7 months pregnant with my youngest and was having those wonderful mood swings. I was very proud of my first cake when my oldest who was 5 at the time came in and asked what the cake was. I told her "Black cat coming out of a Pumpkin", her exact words were "thats not a cat mommy, thats a ugly bear" My mother quickly took her out of the room and explained to her that it was definately a cat no matter what she thought and that she probably ought to stay away from me for a while. I was devistated !! The more and more I looked at it I couldn't disagree with her. So i never took a picture and never took it to the Fall carnival. We ate the Cat/Bear !!

I've made quite a few in my practice time. The guitar was covered with quick pour fondant but it was before I read that I had to use a base icing to make it stick. To make it even worse, I added canned strawberries that just made everything slide off more.
The gravestone was my first attempt at whipped cream icing. EEEEEWWW.
I did not like using that stuff.
I agree thoughthat even if they look bad they still usually taste REALLY good! 
I can't seem to figure out how to add these pix to my post so I'll put them in a file.

Genna: the bunny is soooooooo adorable...It does have a bit of a crazy look to his eyes, but I would have never noticed if you hadn't pointed it out. Actually, now that I look at him again...I think its the tilting of the head that makes him look a little deranged 
I still think the cake is so cute though 
mikaza: I was looking at your frog eyes cake, and my husband walked over to see what I was looking at. He said it looked like a sunbather laying down raising up her top to give us a peak at what she had underneath. Told him to get his mind out of the gutter. LOL!

You have me laughing so hard!! Yes, when I cut the 3D bear pan I didn't realize I cut it lopsided until it was already iced & on the "hat". I forgot to say that it was really hot that day and the icing was melting...which gives it the creepy eye look! Also, my friend delivered it for me and she said one of the ears flopped over, but it "just gave it some character"!!!! I hated that cake!!! At least the customer liked it....I only charged her $25 but she gave me a $10 tip...I'd charge about $75 nowadays...but it was a learning experience.

I think its much worse when the cake looks awesome and tastes nasty! I would take an ugly cake that tastes good over a pretty cake that tastes like poo poo any day! Once it's in my mouth I can't tell it was ugly!

Wow! Is that supposed to be a guitar? It kind of looks like someone was slaughtered on top! That is just like what my daughters bed looked like when she got into our printer ink refills and smeared them all over her room!

discolady, If I had, had that picture of Buster last month I could have won a contest! At my work it was national dental week for pets and we had a best smile contest--Buster would have won!!!!
I will never look at Chewy the same again!
