Fresh Hydrangeas And Green
I had fun doing this but was in a rush (to go camping, and still had a cake to deliver after this), so I ended up gashing my finger carrying it in when I hit a chair with the heavy cake box on my hand, and then dropped my new Blackberry in the flower water. argh. I really needed that weekend away! lol

Bridge Grand Opening Cake
I was thrilled to be asked to do the grand opening cake for the Freya St. Bridge in Spokane, WA. It's based on an arial map of the area, with the bridge made of GP supports, a graham cracker base, a layer of GP draped over the whole bridge and supports, then poured royal icing for all the streets, BC 'building' outlines. Signs are GP. I was very proud of my tiny piping on the signs--they were about 1-1/4" inch, and I loved how they turned out. It was coconut cake with coconut mousse, 12 x 18, and the city loved it. :) (I keep seeing all the things 'wrong' with it, but we're our own worst critics!)

Engagement Verses
All IMBC and royal Bible with 1 Cor. 13: 4-7 "Love is..." verses piped in navy blue. The piping took me almost an hour and a half, glad I gave myself time--I barely got done before she picked it up! It would have been easier to do in fondant, but they wanted bc. I wasn't sure I liked my writing, but in the end I was ok with it. Very hard to do without an arm rest, so I used a small fondant tub to rest my forearm on while piping, which helped a little. I used a strip of paper to help keep the lines straight, although I still saw some lines going 'up' in places...ah well. Fondant bookmark, royal edges and 'cover'. tfl

Tropical Cake
All imbc, 4, 6, 8, 10" cakes, satin ribbon. The flowers were paper and so fragile, I just royal iced some dots and stuck them to the cake. It was for an outdoor tent reception today, and it was raining so hard and so cold, I couldn't believe it...37 degrees when I set up the cake. I think plan B was to go back inside, hope they had a good day anyway! :)

My First Gp Person
This was for a lady who is a body builder or something, and it's a position she can actually get into...they wanted it in GP. For my first GP figure, it gave me fits, but it worked, AND it balanced on just the hands. I wasn't sure I was hapy with it, but they were thrilled, so I guess it worked out. :) thanks to all who helped me figure this one out! though I don't think I'll be specializing in Gp figures...

Bling And Ribbon
I loved this cake, though I was nervous about the red water in the fountain splashing and staining everything (including me, my hands, and my tan car interior), but it was fine. The bride's parents used to be my husband's partners ages ago, and the mom made these adorable bling-y bows for the cake, they found the bling ribbon, and I just added some rose petals. In person, it was just really perfect, but my camera wouldn't flash, so I'm not thrilled with the photo...

Monkey Theme
A child's birthday recently. There's a palm tree that was supposed to go on top, but we didn't put it on before they picked it up. I'm not the best monkey artist, but I had fun doing this one. Interesting to note that the imbc and the royal icing on the board are colored the same color; there's the difference between royal and bc when you add colors...
