Red, White And Black
All BC, 6, 8, 10 and 8" satellites, black satin ribbon, and fresh rose petals that had to be "glued" on with icing because of the strong winds blowing everything all over. With the (ahem) 82-degree heat, I hope it all held up until they cut it; it was already too soft when I left!! I'm swearing off outdoor weddings...

Embroidered Pink Cake
This was a 6, 8, 10, 12 that was transported all as one and carried by myself up some serious stairs (I barely made it!) It stressed me out the worst of any cake this year--all I see is what's wrong with it; fondant cracks, bulges, lopsided etc, but they loved it...Design copied by one from here; sorry I can recall who, but they did a MUCH better job on the original! I'm just glad it's done!

White On White
An IMBC cake with royal drop flowers and cake sparkles all over. Supposed to be outside, but a mousse-filled cake in 98 degree heat doesn't work, so it sat in the house until ..?....they took it outside later I suppose. When I got there, they realized the cake flowers they'd ordered for the top and around the base weren't there, so we improvised and used the bride's toss bouquet for the topper--good thing I had a hollow dowel to use! whew...

Hot Pink Scrolls
Done today in bride's choice of colors. IMBC with royal scroll work. Pic take before delivery because it went in the venue's cooler for hours before the wedding--no idea what topper she provided. I hate when I don't get to see the final setup...It was fun though! Thanks for looking.

A Wilton Style Garden Wedding Cake
From a Wilton wedding cakes book. All white and chocolate cakes with coconut and chocolate fillings, done for an OUTdoor (in a barn) wedding in the heat of summer. All BC with royal roses and silk flowers. You can't see in the picture, but each tier had *5* different borders to pipe, which I realized that at about midnight! It took forever and gave me hand cramps, but I loved how it turned out.

Western Theme Wedding
6, 8, and 10" buttercream cakes with fondant barbed wire (held up with strategically placed toothpicks in the HEAT!), royal icing lilies that barely dried in time, fondant barrel pillars, and little toy accents from Michaels between the tiers. Lots of fun to plan, much harder for me to pull off...

Princess Birthday
A homemade fondant recipe that didn't work out at ALL, but I hid the "disaster-ness" of it under lots of fun design work. All fondant with royal icing piping and curlicues, and my first luster dust-painted royal icing tiara, which I was very proud of! Inspired by a cake in the Wilton year book. Chocolate cake with peanut butter mousse. They LOVED it!
