Cup Cakes With Four Leaf Clover
These are mini cup cakes, and instead of a cup cake liner, I baked them in the pan then cut MMF and applied that to the base of the cup cake as an "edible liner" and then decorated the top with green frosting and 4 leaf clover's I'd made out of royal icing. VERY sweet, but the kids loved them.

Present Cake
OK, here's the third present cake to go with the red and blue ones. I didn't finish this one till late since I had trouble flnding the cookie press I was looking for to decorate the "paper". The cars are imprinted with the foam cookie decorator stamps then filled in with frosting using a #3 tip. Then pressed flush with the base layer of frosting. It's time consuming, but makes a nice design. My friend was floored when she picked up all three cakes this morning.

Birthday Present Cakes
Fondant ribbons and bows. I tried the half butter/crisco frosting for the top cake, and it is really droopy (maybe my frosting was to thin) so I think I'll stick with the all crisco recipe. But It turned out pretty good otherwise. They wanted all bright primary colors, and it's definitely that. I still need to do the last lone cake (yellow present with green bow). This was a fun interesting project to work on (the cakes are for a friends family party for her father in law's 80th bday).

Purple "fairy" Flowers For Tinkerbell Cake
Here are the purple flowers for our upcoming Tink cake. I tried to get a photo of the cake topper that has these on them, but, I didn't want to take it out of the plastic for fear of breaking it or getting it dirty before I need it, so I couldn't get a good shot. But it's a really good match to them, so I'm happy with them.

Fairy Flowers For Tinkerbell Cake (Cake Coming Soon)
These are the first flowers for my dtr's 13th bday party caken next month. I used the petunia directions and tried to match the pink flowers on the Tink paper. I'll be doing the purple ones later today using the lilly directions to match the flowers on the center piece for the cake. My dtr was giddy with excitement when she saw these last night (I only had to go through about 10 before I got them right-it's been a loooooong time since I've used the lilly nail sets) I made 21, so hopefully,I won't need more!

World Of War Craft Edible Image Transfer On Cake
This is just a practice cake to see how easy the edible transfers are to work with and how they taste on a cake. My husband works for Blizzard so we did the front of one of his game boxes since I send all my practice cakes to work with him. The image was harder to work with (smoothing) than I expected so I'm glad I got this practice run before the "real" cake is due next month. I forgot to trim the cake to the image, so I made a "frame" around it to cover up the excess cake exposed around the image. Ooops.

Monarch Butterfly Valentine Heart Cup Cakes
My dtr asked me to do something for her school vday party, so I started on some cup cakes. The first ones were fondant butterfly's, then my rice paper came in the mail the next day, so I made these ones. The butterfly's are drawn on rice paper using edible food markers. They came out MUCH better than I had hoped for. MMF hearts used for a base since there was no liner to separate the cupcakes (and I didn't want them sliding into each other). Thank you for all the feedback while I was designing these!

Chocolate Present With Fondant Hearts And Bow
Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. I cut out fondant hearts to decorate the "wrapping paper" and then fondant ribbons and bow. This was my first fondant bow, and I definitely need LOTS more practice. The picture makes it look better than it does! But at least I know I can do it now.

Rock Climbing Bday Party Cake
Three level stacked cake covered in MMF. I did not totally blend the black into the fondant so it'd give it more of a marblized effect for the rock. MMF for the snow peak. The "climbers" are from the toy store and worked well with the theme. I had a hard time deciding on a border, but finially decided the tuffs of grass with spaces between them really gave it more of a balanced look and the green with the flowers made it more cheerful and feminine (since it's for a teenage girls birthday party).

Care Bears Winter Holiday Cake
This is a cake I put together for my oldest's scout party this afternoon. I found the care bear candy characters attached to candy canes and though "Cool! I can use those on a cake!". Funny how everything is a potential prop for a cake now. The house is tiled with candy as well. The snowman is frosting and I used sugar cones as bases for the trees.

Pastel Snowmen Cookies On A Stick
Sugar cookies baked in the snowman pans and decorated with Royal Icing. I was in a hurry, so the colors came out really pastel, but, I think they look cute that way. My dtr only gave me one days notice for their holiday party at school, so I threw these together (fortunately, I already had sugar cookie dough in the fridge since I had done some similar for the weekend). Presentation is key to me, so I put them in holiday baskets with foam board in the bottom so they could all stand upright.

Gingerbread House
This is my Gingerbread house for this year. Last year was the first time I tried doing these, and got totally hooked. The girls made them this year too. I was planning on doing a winter wonderland with tons of little animals, but found the Kandy Klay was quite the dissapointment to work with. So hard and brittle. So I only made the one little kitty. Windows are gum drops and the door is a giant hershey bar. I kept it very simple and am quite pleased at how it came out for only my second one.

Lucy Cheers Them On
This is a cake I put together per my daughter's request for her softball team. They had their tournament this weekend, so we figured Lucy (from Charlie Brown) would be the perfect mascot. I put "Go Team, Go!" on there, but neglected to snap a photo afterwards. This is a FBT, but instead of putting a boarder around it, I filled in under each section w/the color of the top area to make it look more natural and 3D. I was pretty happy with how it came out (and the girls LOVED it) :)

Castle Birthday Cake
My 3 y/o is having a Cinderella birthday party tomorrow. This is the castle cake I made for the event. I'm very happy with how it came out. Eight 6 inch cakes make the side towers. Four Square cakes for the main building and 3 oversided cupcakes for the central tower. An ice cream cone for the center tower top. The side towers, I used the top for the castle cake in a kit. Then of course, grass, vines and flowers (not drop flowers, they were made on a flower nail). Oh, and royal icing for the door.

Nemo Birthday Cake
Another crazy cake. My dad says they are more like my art projects. This was for my son's birthday last year. He was TOTALLY in love with Nemo. Nemo, Marlin and Dory are hand molded out of fondant. And all the fish, sea horses and turtles and starfish were made from fondant and colored with food coloring pens. The sea anenomie is one large ball cup cake upside down then the tentacles for it out of thick frosting using a #12 tip. The coral is also fondant. and then frosting for the sea weed of course.

Golden Gate Bridging Cake For Girl Scouts
My older daughters troop participated in the annual event held by the Girl Scout council of San Francisco, where the girls walk across the Golden Gate Bridge as part of their "bridging" from Junior Girl Scouts to the Cadette level. This is the cake I did for their bridging party afterwards. It's a FBT of an image I found of the golden gate bridge online.

Baby Christening Cake
This is a cake I made for my friends baby christening today. This is a similar design as what she had on the invitations. Other than the cake is crooked and I don't do shell borders very well, I'm pretty happy with how it came out. Using the FBT technique of course (I think I'm addicted to this technique now).

Ariel Birthday Cake
This is a cake I designed for my daughter's 9th birthday. There were a lot of challenges getting it done (the major one being supporting the top of the candy shell w/out breaking the cake - again) but it came out great! I did have to re-bake the top layer as it split from the shell supports. I perfected that on the second attempt (thank goodness!).
