Quilt Cake
11x15 french vanilla cake. My only freezer is a side by side :( So the only way I could think to do this was for each square to be a FBCT. It was a bit of a trick to get them all the same thickness. The 86 year old recipient loved it and said she had actually made a quilt that was represented by each square.

Nice work!!! The cake is beautiful. I did a cake very similar to this for my aunt but I piped most of it. It doesn't hold a candle to it but it's in my photos is if you want to take a look.
That is excellent and the papertowel pattern on the center looks like actual quilting too!!

My Mom is an avid quilter (and so was her Mom)....I showed her this picture and she LOVED it! She also said she'd done a quilt representing each block! Funny! This is a beautiful cake....very special!

Very nice cake! I especially like the double wedding ring block. Anyone who quilts would have to love this cake. I have never seen anyone do the actual quilt designs before.
