I am so embarrassed!
I feel like I have gotten off on the wrong foot with everyone here at CC.
I am sarcastic in nature. My mother says as an infant I was sarcastic.
I never meant to hurt anyone and if I have I am so sorry. I am not a good writer and therefore I fear my true teasing nature didnt come through as intended.
I am so ashamed if I hurt anyone at any time. I will introduce myself and hope we can all start anew, as friends.

I am a mother of 4, 2 boys, 2 birls, I currently am a stay at home mommy. I run a advertising business from home as well as bake like a mad woman all day long. My hubby is an electrician.
In my past after college, I was the youngest manager of a certain corporate bank in the banks 60 years of existence here in the USA. I worked between two banks for 15 years. I managed both regular brick and mortar banks and in-store banks and wrote countless policies and procedures still being used today in the industry.
I left that world to run a mortgage company which I ran for 4 years before having my oldest child.
I have a sweet tooth like none other. I hate snow and the cold. Originally from Texas. Favorite color is brown. I suffer from Seasonal anxiety disorder. The poor weather makes this worse and I become very depressed.
I am the oldest of 5 siblings. My parents have been married for 34 years. I love to cook, scrapbook and play with my family on the weekends.
Now you all know me and I would love to know all of you. And those who have been offended by my posts in the past, I am truely sorry and ashamed.

Well Hi, your're not really new anymore ya know!

I don't know if you offened anyone, but if you did you would certainly know by now! icon_lol.gif

I would love to intoduce my to you! I am also a SAHM. My kids are 13, 12, 8, 6, and 10 months. I only have one boy, he is the 8 year old. That means he is totally surrounded by girls!

I'm 35 years old, been married for 14 1/2 years to my hubby who is a part-time preacher, and works in the security industry(cameras and such) full-time.

I enjoy running my kids every they need to be (really, I do), baking, decorating cakes, singing, and spending time on CC. I hope to open my own bakery in about 3 years.

My favorite color is red. My kitchen is red, and my window treatments in the living room and dining room are red!

Well that's pretty much all about me.

I don't think there was a problem with anything either.

I'm 32 and am a stay at home mom. I have one daughter who is 12. Had a candy business for years but now it's strictly cakes. My fiance and I have been together for 3 years. Unfortunately I see him about twice a month cause he's a truck driver. So I have plenty of time for the cakes!

That's me!
Welcome and hello to all!

SweetTooth,
Your letter to everyone is a kind gesture. I haven't noticed you being mean.

Don't forget good-ole Texas. We would love to have your family move back here. Instead of a cold / gray sadness, we have withdrawals if we don't get enough Mexican food during the week. Nothing like fajitas cooked over mesquite wood with fresh flour tortillas, or cheese enchiladas to brighten anyone's day. Jalapeno peppers release those good hormones we need. icon_lol.gif

We all understand.
I'm looking forward to visiting with you on CC. icon_biggrin.gif

About me? I am 52, have four children, three grandchildren, a wonderful husband, a cute little red miata and over 250 barbie dolls.

I got my "useless" degree in design, but was a stay at home mom (back then, we called it a Housewife) for 12 year, then I went into the IT field. During that time, I made cakes for every social event, party and excuse to have cake. All my friends kept telling me I needed to do it professionally. About 4 years ago, I took a real class in cake decorating and my instructor told me I needed to start selling my cakes. So I did. I just started charging everyone. 4 years later, I have left the IT field, have a full time busting at the seams home business, and live with my apron on. My doctor hates me because I am on my feet too much and eat too much sugar, but at least I will die happy.

And my grandbabies are cuter then yours!

Oh man, sweettoothmom, I bet we could have a sarcasm-off one day!! I'm constantly inserting my foot in my mouth...I'm getting to where I like the taste! icon_lol.gif

(I mean, have you ever made a comment to someone that their baby had "Hitler hair"? Might be more forgiven said in US, but not so much in Europe!)

About me....I'm a west coast girl (Calif/Wash), 43 yrs, married to a super Dutch guy, raising our super daughter Clementine (6) here in The Netherlands. I've cooked and baked my entire life, but just now giving it a (semi)professional go at it! I'm hoping to open a storefront in the next year...fingers crossed!

Thanks for the info about yourself....but where are you living in the cold and inclimate weather?

Take care!

Oh, honey, I put my foot in my mouth all day long, and have a sarcastic sense of humor, too. I haven't been offended by any of your posts. And if you've offended someone, don't worry, someone else will come along soon enough to take the heat off you. icon_lol.gif

I'm Michelle, icon_lol.gif am the Director of Sales for a hotel, and my whole career has been hotel and catering. My cakes are butt ugly, that's why I don't take pics, but they taste good! I'm married w/ a 5 yr old girl and 3 yr old (stinker) boy who refuses to potty train and is driving me insane. I grew up in south Georgia, moved to NJ after college, the PA for affordable housing. My favorite shampoo is Philosophy "Cinnamon Buns", and my gas-guzzling has 193,000 miles on it icon_eek.gif . I should get rid of it but I want to see how many miles I can get out of it! My secret obsession is Christopher Radko ornaments, and I'm such a nerd that I catalogue them.

Welcome to CC. I hang mostly in the Lounge.

Dear Sweettoothmom, we must be sisters or something icon_twisted.gif ! I can't count the number of times I've had something misinterpreted in an email icon_redface.gif ! Now when I write I read everything over several times and think about it and also use emoticons, all just to avoid hurt feelings and angry responses. I think I'm pretty good at understanding what others send me because I don't read the sarcasm into it and I always give people the benefit of the doubt. My husband says that's a character flaw!!!

I read so many posts around here, I couldn't say if you've ever posted something that someone was upset about or not.

I have seasonal affected/anxiety disorder myself. I lived 6 years in an area where it was cloudy, rainy and cold a lot of the year and it almost killed me. I live in the Bahamas now, lots of bright sunshine and blue skies. I don't care how hot it gets as long as it doesn't get cold!

I'm 45 yrs old and I will be married 12 years this month and have the pleasure of saying that I have a great marriage and my husband and I still like each other! We have 5 kids total, but only 2 at home, a boy 12 and a girl 9. I have a job I love, but I also love baking and decorating cakes. Since I live in an area with a very small population everybody knows 'the cake lady' thumbs_up.gif . I don't get much $$ for my cakes, but I really enjoy doing them, especially for people who wouldn't be able to get a 'bakery style' cake anywhere else. I want to open a little bakery and ice cream shop right in the middle of the little town near where I live. It's just a 'settlement', no big hotels or casinos, but lots of nice local people and about 100 yards from the Atlantic thumbs_up.gif .

mixinvixen...lol...was that youuuuuuuuuuuuu????

I'll tell you true...I don't know me.

My memory sucks....if you ever said anything I wouldn't remember until a year later. This ability makes it almost impossible to win a battle of wits 'cause, althought I think of comebacks, they don't come around until others have forgotten.

10/01/08 will be DH and my 25th wedding anniversary(I never dated him...met him 5 weeks before we got married and knew he would be the one I spent my life with!) We have 4 children...24, 21, 18, 15(b,g,g,b), 1 DIL and 1 GRANDson.
My favorite color is green. I like to wear red and I like red sports cars. I like loud music with lots of base and music that makes you cry (preferably not in the same songs). I like to drive fast when I'm by myself and wave at people I don't know. I say hello to anyone who looks at me wherever I go(who knows, they may be having a bad day). If I like someone's blouse, shoes, haircolor, hairstyle...whatever...I tell them. I get teary-eyed over small things...older couples dancing...toddlers sharing a hug without a nudging from anyone.

I hate flies and can not tolerate even seeing loose hair(not attached to a person.....like on the shirt or furniture)...yeah, I got issues.

I always try to read everything with an open mind, realizing that a lot of the time we are tired beyond belief, stressed to the max, or have tiny tots pulling at our arms to get off of the computer (as mine do, leaving behind lots of typos). Oh, and hormones... icon_rolleyes.gif

I like using smilies to help me convey my msg, but even that is difficult!

Me: SAHM of a nearly 4 yr old girl and nearly 2 yr old boy. Married 8 yrs. I have a degree in exercise science, which my dad still doesn't believe exists (the science of exercise part--not the degree).

I quit my personal training business to raise our kids. A little more than a year ago my mom showed me a show that she TiVo'd: One of Food Networks wedding cake challenges. I always wanted to take a Wilton course, but I was so impressed with what could be done in fondant!

I knew I didn't have the patience for BC, so I dove right into fondant, buying the Wilton stuff just to see if I had the knack for it.

Shortly afterwards I found this amazing community and I've been hooked ever since!

Nothing will take me away from CC and all of the wonderful people I've "met" here.

All4Cake - we could be twins! But my fav color is blue, lol.

My previous post was really boring... had the girl tugging at my arm.

I am huge on the "respect other people" thing, and it really ticks me off when others drivers get in my way! Respect ME and my big ol' red truck, lol!

I like most music except hard-core rap and metal. I am a big fan of the new music scene - coffee house. Oh, and I love coffee.

Sweet tooth beyond belief, but I am so sick of BC and WASC. Give me Nestle Tollhouse cookies and a 1/2 gallon of ice-cream!

My biggest hope is that people really do pay it forward.

I lied. My biggest hope is that my kids never become addicted to anything.
Same for their kids and so on...

Nice to meet all of you and sweettoothmom I've never seen any of your posts that could have offended/upset someone but just in case they did I'm sure this post MORE than makes up for it! icon_smile.gif

I'm a 36 year old SAHM of 4, I have 3 boys and 1 girl (I was aiming for 2 and 2 something I've wanted since I was a child myself but after 4 c-sections I think I'm done for). My oldest boy turned 6 this summer, my second son is 4, my daughter is 2 and the baby is 9 months old. I worked in the IT field as well until my oldest was born and my DH and I decided that one of us should stay at home and since he doesn't seem to have the patience.......
I was born in India, moved to Canada when I was 4 been married to my Scottish husband for almost 12 years and have lived in the US on and off since 1997. Our first baby was born in Houston but the other 3 were born in Canada. We moved back again in June/08 and although I miss Calgary, Alberta I love the states!! I also am homeschooling my 2 oldest right now and would love to get out and find a p/t job decorating cakes but unfortunately cannot because I don't have a visa to work here. If I could find somewhere to volunteer that would be perfect but for the time being the Wilton classes that I have started again and my kids keep me busy.

I find sarcasm a remarkable trait! One that I usually lack, not for lack of effort mind you. But I dont seem to have that knack that my husband does for coming up with stuff in a second. However i do appreciate and love that trait. About me? I'm 25, living in florida, married to a wonderful man, have the cutest 3 yr old little boy (when he isnt in trouble and sometimes even when he is). I'm a SAHM, working a few hours a week at a clothing store. I started doing cakes for family and friend when i was 14 and my gram's arthritus got too bad. I recently started taking the wilton cake decorating course at the insistence of my family and friend to expand my horizons. I love books, almost any craft and I love making cakes! I hope to turn it into a career. My favorite colors are pink and black. I also like really loud music, driving fast, and CC.

Don't feel bad. It's just the nature of the beast. When you have as many people in a group as we do, there's bound to be at least a few dozen who read too literally into everything.

If you ever have a snappy answer for me, just put a icon_lol.gif after it and I'll know what you mean.

"Spoken a true smart-ass." - Clairee Belcher, Steel Magnolias - that's what I think of when I read the posts of certain members. They make me laugh, and that's all that matters to me.

Hello I'm Jen. You can't worry about offending people. You are never going to make everyone happy all the time. And some people no matter what you do you will always be offended (subconsciously they want that.) As for me life's to short to get offended all the time!
As for me, I am almost 34 (not yet! icon_smile.gif ) I have been married for 6 years and have one 3 year old boy. I have my EArly Childhood Ed degree, and have been a nanny for 15 years and a pre-school teacher for 4 of those years. You may have seen my picture in the table of contents in Newsweek. I take care of the bi-polar child who was on the front cover a few months ago. (If I got offended by things that job would not be for me!)
I recently started getting into cakes to give me something to do during these god awful Boston winters! (I have S A D too) I now have a business out of my home making cakes. So hopefully this winter will be better. I too hate butter cream and am very good at fondant.
Don't get down on yourself! And go make a cake to make you feel better! LOL

My favorite color is red...my kitchen and dining room are red, as well as having accents throughout my home, that are red. I could live off of bc icing and starbucks. I'm back in school finishing up my teaching degree so I'm sure the cakes will eventually dwindle down.

I bake cakes for friends and family but that is about it!
