Mkolmar...My daughter is doing alright. As you are aware, she has Aspergers, and change is harder for them than most other kids. They also have given her a lot of responsibility this year. I think that she will settle in soon. Did you have the strong winds at your house on Sunday?
We had winds that topped out at 75mph. They said on the news that those are hurricane category 1 winds. We have trees down and some siding that will need repaired. We were luckier than most of our neighbors. I can't imagine living through the devastation that those in the south are facing.
No school for our kids yesterday due to wide spread power outages. Part of our school district has power so, those schools only will have classes today. The news is reporting that Columbus and the surrounding neighborhoods, can expect power back on by Sunday icon_eek.gif . I am so thankful that ours in on.

Sunday was beef stroganoff with noodles, carrots, peas, homemade bread.

Monday was tattertot casserole with peas and cottage cheese with leftover bread.

Hope all are well....

My son is having the same issues with change right now also in school. The teacher said he seems to still be stuck on last years class schedule, but he's coming around. My daughter on the other hand is off to a rough start. We had her at a school for kind. and 1st grade that wasn't any good for her. We switched schools when we got the information that she was below for her age. The schools performance come to find out is way below what it should be. She is getting caught up now, but it will take a while.

Tonight is breakfast food at the kids request.

I have so much stuff going on it will probably be a while before I'm able to get on again. I'm getting pulled in 100 different directions right now between the kids, DH's business, family (not my DH and I--were fine), and work. Life--it's always crazy. icon_lol.gif

Have a great day my cake table family.

Thank you everyone for keeping me in your thoughts. Although you know on reflection she was ready to go so it does make it a little easier.

I've been soo busy with cakes they seem to be coming out of the woodwork LOL, which is a good thing, just weird though. I had 3 days to do a Christening cake and the only thing the customer said was I want his name on it. The cakes were from the top 2 tiers of her and her sister's wedding cake an 8" round and a 8" square icon_eek.gif . I ended up cutting the square cake into blocks and making, well, blocks with his name on it and the round one was a baby under a blanket with stars on wire. Don't think I want to do that again in a hurry.

It was my DS birthday on Wednesday he's 15 and no I didn't have to make a cake for that, he wanted ice cream cake thumbs_up.gif . We had tuna curry and rice for dinner (his fav) and we'll get takeaway on Sunday.
Thursday I made grilled Dory, baked potatoes and greek salad.
Yesterday (Friday) I took my friend out for lunch so was a tower of strength for me at the wake and took over the kitchen, cooking and serving food. She was totally amazing. We had a beautiful lunch looking over the bush and river she had barramundi and I had atlantic salmon with naturally a glass of wine or 2 icon_lol.gif . I even organised a chauffeur service (DD & DH) one drove us there and one drove us home didn't want to risk RBT.

Then we went to a Tupperware party, haven't been to one of those for ages, wow is it expensive but it's good stuff (DS eldest) drove us there and home. Well we had to have a wine or 2 didn't we it was a party after all icon_rolleyes.gif

Well you guys are all so busy too.
Have a great weekend ((hugs)) to all

Last week a friend of hers called and wants me to do a smaller wedding cake for her Oct. 24th.. I told her I would have to wait till after this one to call her back.. I will be calling her tomorrow.. I am in SHOCK

I haven't had time to read up.. I will try to later today

Wow....not only are the chiars dusty, the whole table needs a good wiping off. icon_surprised.gif Ok....now that's better. Table and chiairs all wiped off. Clean enough to eat off of....hehehe
Hello table friends. I have missed you all this week. Not been a good week for me. To much DRAMA to go into details. Dealing with my oldest daughter most of the week. She is our DRAMA QUEEN. I am hoping that it is about to die down for now anyway. I also had a catered event on this past Sunday for our church. It is my ministry, so I donate my time and services. The church money budgeted for these events only covers supplies. I do enjoy blessing others. It was just a lot of work this time. I do have a great friend who works with me, always a good time to work with her.
I have another catering event on Friday for 200. I am pleased with that.
DH and I are trying to plan a trip to go out to Utah. I don't know if you will remember that my best friend for the last 16 years moved out there this past summer. DH has some extra vacation time that needs to be used so he and I thinking of going out to visit her. I am checking on details, so hopefully I will know by first of the week.

Janine....Congratulations of finishing 2nd. That is awesome. I sounds like you have been crazy busy. How is your mom doing? I hope you get some relaxing time soon. Is it spring in your part of the world? It is finally fall here. I am trying to like fall this year. Most years I spend fall hating it because I know that winter is coming next. I am trying to be more positive this year. I'll let you know how that goes.

Kay...your cakes were amazing!!!! You should be so proud. I hope you are getting some rest and catching up on all that went on while you were caking. How is Mike doing...you haven't given us an update in a while.

Sparkle...It sounds like you are really busy as well. I love it when my kids want an ice cream cake (mine is an ice cream pie). It is so much easier than baking and decorating. I like any party that has wine involved. icon_wink.gif How nice you had drivers to escort you.

Melissa...how are things going with you? Is your son setteling in to school? My daughter is doing well. I am not impressed though, there is a 7th grader who has crush on her. I am NOT ready for that. Her teacher called and was telling me about it...my daughter has no clue. She can't understand why he picks at her all the time.

K2...it's been a while girl, how are things in your neck of the woods?

I have been cooking....
I have been using my grill quite a bit lately....
We had steaks with potatoes and onions, sweet corn and italian bread
Wednesday we had grilled hamburgers, with macaroni and cheese (homemade not blue box icon_razz.gif )
Friday was grilled chicken and left over mac-n-cheese.
Today we has pizza and I made brownies....that sounds really healthy doesn't it?

Well take care and check in soon.

Thanks for dusting Ohara My chair looks wonderful icon_biggrin.gif

Boy am I still exhausted.. The wedding is part of it but I am having some girly issues..So I am really tired, achy and crabby.. I want to try to get to the doc this week if I can.. Mike has a doc appointment Mon. We have been battling his short term dissablilty..And he needs to be seen by the doc for that.. But he needs to go back anyway.. He started having probs about a month ago and it is getting worse.. And they have had more layoff scares at his work as well. He dodged it again they did a buy out thing with people who wanted and could retire.. Mike hasn't been there long enough.. They were going to layoff 20 people and 34 went in for the voluntary layoff/retire. So he is safe for now.. But since he is starting to get sick again I am worried...

I am embarrassed to say I still haven't read up on the table icon_redface.gif I am just so dang tired.. And I am having to force myself to go bake. I have that other wedding the 24th of Oct. I also need a small B-Day cake for the 2nd, I need to do cupcake cakes for a niece the 26th and a nephew the 15th and Brooke's B-Day is the 28th.. Dang I get tired just thinking about it icon_cry.gif

Ok what did we eat..

Last night I broiled pork sirloin, fries and cornbread for Mike and Brooke. And I made chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, gravy for me.. Mike doesn't really like chicken fries and I have been craving them so I just made them for me icon_biggrin.gif And it was YUMMY

Thur. night was spaghetti, and cheesy garlic bread
Wed. night chicken nuggets, cheesy mashed potatoes, corn
Tues. was tuna helper

Ok I need to get to the kithchen and do some baking icon_cry.gif Well maybe I just sit here and think about it icon_lol.gif

Wow! Ohara you did a fabulous job of cleaning off the table and chairs. Sparking!

I've been busy helping the kids with school work. I just jump from helping one to another going down the line. I'm sick of their homework already and we have a lot more months to go! I've been basically helping them with homework from the moment they get home from school till they go to bed. Then I pack their work in their bags and get clothes ready for the next morning. My goodness do these kids get a lot more work (and harder work too) then when I was their age.

Sunday we went to Cedar Point with our 3 kids and my BIL. (He's such a good uncle.) DH and Uncle Dan took the oldest 2 on the big rides while I stayed with my youngest daughter and we did the smaller kids rides that she could get on. She was so mad she couldn't ride the big ones though icon_lol.gif She has very little fear. Our youngest son stayed with the grandparents and had fun playing outside and at a cookout.
We had a great time and I just love watching the magic of pulling up and my youngest daughter seeing the amusement park for the first time. She was so excited.

Kay and janine--where are the pictures???? I need to see these beautiful pieces of edible art.

K2--you need to re-post that cake photo you took off. thumbs_up.gif

Sparkle-hope your family is doing alright. That seems to be a lot of cake orders, make sure to take some pretty pics of them to post.

Ohara- I hope you can go to Utah!!!! That would be wonderful if you can get to see your BFF again.

Let's see- Monday night was butter-garlic marinated boneless pork chops, mac and cheese, cinnamon baked apples, focaccia bread (herb bread) with perogies that were potato and cheese filled that I sauteed.
Sunday-- we ate at Cedar Point so it was not healthy in any way shape or form. I'd rather try to forget the food I ate that day icon_lol.gif (especially since I'm trying to get healthier)
Saturday- DH and I had shepards pie. This one is made with a crust then shredded slow roasted lamb. Topped with garlic red skinned mashed potatoes mixed with a little peas and carrots and then everything is topped with a layer of bubbly cheese. YUM!!!!!
Friday--I ate a baby spinach salad with kidney beans and a hard boiled egg. The family ate spinach-ricotta cheese--italian cheese stuffed pasta shells with garlic bread. I made the ricotta cheese from scratch so it was very fresh and very creamy.
Thursday was taco's and steak fajita's.
Wed.-- was steak with roasted potatoes, green beans, applesauce and bread. (the leftover steak went to TH fajita's)

Hi Everyone!

Mkolmar - sure sounds like youre busy with the kids, and yeah, the work is sure harder than when we went to school!! I hope that things ease up a little so you can get some "me" time too!! Your food sounds awesome - making me hungry - lol ok, i finaly got the picture into my album here is the link
http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-photo_1271090.html
hope you like it, its a bit rough, but i got 81% for it, had 3 % deducted for not having wedding rings or bells on - oh well, we live and learn

Sparklepop - long time no hear - how are things in the land of ozz???? Hope youre all well and coping!

Well, lets see, last night dh took me to the casino while he and my son went to the movies - lol so i made my money back - lol, and then we had dinner at a pizza, pasta place near home

dinner was: oven bake speciality - consisted of a piece of chicken lazagne, a piece of beef lazagne and fetta and spinache canelloni - dh and i shared that and a rib and chicken pizza, ds had rib and chicken pizza only - lol

we brought some back home for lunch today - lol

I hope all are well, and at least eating if not at the table - lol on your laps??? lol
Big Big Hugs to all!!

Geez O'hara not only are you a chef and cake decorator extrodinare(?) but your also an amazing cleaner, I think I might hire you to come to my house icon_biggrin.gif . I also feel for you in the Drama Queen Dept I have one of those, life certainly is never dull and quite challenging at times Good luck.

Kay your life is one big roller coaster, hope everything works out with Mike's job and health thumbs_up.gif

Janine glad you had a great time away, who needs sleep icon_lol.gificon_rolleyes.gif I bet you were in with the rowdy crowd anyway, we know what you're like icon_rolleyes.gificon_lol.gif

mkolmar don't worry about the kids and their homework, as soon as they hit high school they don't seem to need too much help, thanks goodness because I have no idea what they're doing at all icon_eek.gif

Well guys I haven't been around for a while still busy with cakes, got 2 for this weekend. When I have a minute I'll put them up for you to see, hopefully sometime next week.
Everything else is going OK at the moment the kids are on a 2 week holiday. Only bad part is I sprained my ankle last night icon_cry.gif and it hurts icon_cry.gif (any sympathy greatly appreciated icon_wink.gif ). So that's cut my wings a little bit. Would you believe I fell down a gutter (no I wasn't drunk icon_lol.gif ) after a cake decorating meeting, it was night time and there were no lights, thought I was on the driveway and I hit the ground. I also found out I bruised the palm of my hand when I was kneading colour into icing and realised my hand was hurting icon_redface.gif and there was a beautiful bruise.

So to food: Tonight was whatever was in the freezer cause I didn't cook.
Suikayaki(?) with rice last night
and a BBQ Monday night, lamb chops, salads, finally it's getting to be BBQ weather.
Anyway I'll check in early next week when my cakes are gone and I have more free time.
Ta Ta for now

Well truth be told....cleaning is where my real talent lies icon_redface.gif and now my secret is out.

Janine...thank you for all the lovely comments on my cakes. Your competition cake is truly amazing! You should be very proud! I will tell people I knew her before she was a famous cake decorator icon_wink.gif

Sparkle....My drama queen is 20 now...and still going. She wears me out! I pray that she out grows this at some point.

Melissa...I hate homework! I am amazed how much they expect these kids to do. My dd usually has a lot on Monday, some on Tuesday and then Wednesday and Thursday are usually just study days. I hope it slows down with your kids soon.

Kay....I'm glad that Mike missed the last layoffs. Keep us posted on his health. Wishing you great rest!

Last night I cooked a pork loin roast on the grill. It was yummy. I ate fried cabbage with mine....the rest of the family had tater tots..

Monday I made them salmon patties with french fries and cheese sauce....I had chicken and cauliflower.

See a pattern....yes, I'm trying to lose weight again. The story of my life. Actually weight loss would be good, but I am just not feeling my best and I know it's been because of poor food choices. And a little stress from my oldest daughter, but I have control over the food, so that's where I'm trying to focus. icon_wink.gif

Another week has passed. The table is dusty again........ok, now that I have wiped the table down will you all come back icon_cry.gif I know, I know, everyone is busy icon_eek.gificon_lol.gif .

I would love to report that life has settled down here....but it hasn't. The weather is perfect fall weather. We are expecting some rain this week which is good as we have been so dry here.
Our youngest daughter finished up with soccer last Saturday. She had so much fun playing. The drama continues with the older DD.

Lets see...
Here's a brief menu for the last week....
Wednesday....we had meat loaf. The family had pasta with herbs with it. I think I had left over veggies.
Thursday we had McDonalds.....I was getting ready to cater, not time to cook icon_wink.gif (I had a salad)
Friday.....I made Italian sausages with peppers and oninos with stewed tomatoes in them and they ate it over rice. ( I had chicken with peppers and onions)
Saturday.....we had taco salads. Easy to make and eat while watching foot ball all afternoon.
Sunday...DH and I went out. We had Mexican. I had fajitas...no tortillas.
Last night was stuffed red peppers

I hope all are well.

Hello table friends. Ohara has been cleaning again I see.
I've been busy with the ACF duties I have now and with the kids. Saturday we did the annual Halloween party for the kids at my mom and dad's house. We did it early because family was in from out of town and we wanted it to be a little warmer since the temp. keeps dropping. We did a hay ride, crafts, painted pumpkins, ate dinner then had a bonfire. We also fill up a kiddie pool with straw and bury a lot of candy in it and let them dive in to find it. The little kids get 2 minutes before the larger ones are allowed to dive in to keep it fair. The kids then got to watch a Charlie Brown cartoon and then go get their goodie bags from different adult family members. They played together and got to take a pumpkin home. It's always a lot of fun. Some of the adults play cards and sit around the bon fire just laughing and joking around.

Saturday we had pinto beans, cornbread, chicken and dumplings, spiral glazed ham, salad, cupcakes, smores bars, cookies, cake, hot dogs, soup and smores on the campfire.
Sunday the family ate pizza and I had homemade chicken noodle soup instead.
Monday was grilled cheese with tomato soup for the kids and I ate at the chefs meeting. I had salad with broiled plums in a chipolte brown sugar sauce, and beef tenderloin that was sliced thin with a demi glaz poured over it. YUM!!!! They had dessert and other food also but I didn't have any.

I like Ohara am trying to eat healthier. I've been mainly eating fruits, veggies and grains. I'm in a challenge at work with a few other people to see who can loose the most inches and body fat %. I don't have any weight to loose but my body fat % is higher so I'm trying to lower that down. I've been working out almost every day. I'm doing an intense workout and within 2 weeks have already started to see a glimmer of hope because my endurance has already improved slightly.

Kay-I'm glad that Mike missed the layoffs this round. I hope he feels better. Have the doc's figured out anything yet.
Ohara and K2- I hope that both of your family dramas slow down. It's no fun having all that stress.
Sparkle- How's the ankle? Did you demand foot and ankle rubs to make it feel better icon_wink.gif You have a good excuse---run with it.
Janine-thanks for all of the lovely comments on my cakes. You are too kind.

Well, my friends I'll be busy cleaning up the tornado that went through my house and left kids clothes and toys everywhere and a sink full of dirty dishes. I swear it was clean yesterday and I turned around and magically everything I cleaned was dirty again icon_eek.gif

Don't want to be an adult playing cards thumbsdown.gif I want to dive into the pool and find candy, have hayrides and get a goodie bag icon_lol.gif
The swelling of my ankle has just about gone down, thank goodness but the bruises sure are pretty. Unfortunately no one massaged icon_sad.gif. Hopefully I can go to my exercise classes tonight and just avoid 1 or 2 of the machines. Worried I'm gunna blimp out if I don't keep going icon_rolleyes.gif

Ohara I'm a year up on you with my Drama Queen she's 21, 22 at the end of the year and yup I could write a book but nobody would believe it.

Wow Janine you must be one busy girl writing all these comments on photos, thanks for lovely ones on mine, and doing all these cake courses. Hope things are going well for you. icon_biggrin.gif

Well I've finally finished all my cakes, thank goodness so I'm gradually putting the photos on CC. I'm really proud of myself cause I did one last night, all by myself icon_biggrin.gif , who needs teenagers and men icon_wink.gif Anyway I'll post the links when I do them but my competition cake is in my pics is anyone is interested in having a look.

Last night we had home made fried rice, everything was in it bar the kitchen sink icon_lol.gif very filling.
Monday - we had Sloppy Joes, quick and easy, it was a Public Holiday here
Sunday - Was the footy finals and we went to friends for a BBQ, ribs, steak, snags, prawns, salad, beetroot, pineapple and potatoes.

Well I'll be busy loading photos I'll get back to you when I'm done. Have a good week.

(((((( HUG ))))))) I've missed everyone icon_sad.gif

I didn't want to drag you all down with my family drama (my mom & sister) so I took a short leave of "supper absence". My mother has since "excommunicated" me (again) for standing up for myself... so aside from the initial emotional rejection, it's been quite liberating. icon_rolleyes.gif Thank goodness for that 120 mi buffer zone... although we were ambushed 3 weeks ago so we all ran upstairs and pretended we weren't home... told the kid we were playing "hide and seek". hat1.gif I HATE the pop-in....

How is everyone? It sounds like everyone has been very busy. We took our daughter to "Pumpkin Land" (a farm they set up for halloween for kids) and it was a blast. She enjoyed all the slides and picking her own pumpkin. Man, we got dirty... good times... madhatter.gif

Melissa...How are things going? I miss you and I'm going to call you as soon as I figure out the time-zone difference... I'd hate to call you at midnight icon_biggrin.gif

take care all ~ icon_smile.gif

Hi table friends. We went to the park with the kids today and walked the trails and looked for wild life in the woods. I'm getting ready to take them out somewhere to eat in a few minutes so this will be quick.

Sparkle--you can come to a Halloween party of ours any day. I didn't play cards either, but hung out with the kids--they had more fun than the adults anyways.
Janine--How are the classes going?
Ohara- How is the eating healthier going? (I think junk food has been calling my name lately.)
Kay-I'm glad Mike missed the other layoffs--hope his health is improving.
K2--Please vent whenever you need to on here. We all seem to have some sort of craziness (mine deals with family also) so we will all be sympathetic and be here for you. *I'm not sure what the time change is either, but I stay up kind of late so go ahead and call whenever you like*

I made a classic French chocolate cake yesterday which is made out of mainly butter, chocolate some eggs, sugar and only 1/4 cup of flour. It doesn't taste sweet really at all just like a fudgy chocolate slab. My family really liked it so I'll make it again. I'm trying to practice more pastries so I'll hopefully learn some more things.

Last night for dinner was burgandy mushroom marinated steak with garlic smashed potatoes, sauted green pepper with mushrooms and the french chocolate cake.
TH. was cheese pizza for the family and I had salad.
Wed. was healthy pancakes. They were whole wheat and made with applesauce instead of oil. Topped with fruit.
Tuesday was grilled marinated chicken with green beans, acorn squash, mac and cheese, grilled -buttered bread and cookies.

your classic french chocolate cake sounds divine - glad your family liked it - lol chocolate is the best !!!
fill us in on the yummy pastries you are trying out - allways nice to hear some new trends and stuff - just remember to have fun whilst doing it all - lol

Ohara - hows the eating right comming on?? i also home the "Drama" has now come to an end - big hugs

Well things have been hectic, but will only become more caotic now thatchristmas is around the corner - so to speak - lol

Hope all are well and we miss you guys!!

lest see food:

Thursday night dh took us out for dinner, had a steak and salads - was so nice not to have to cook, but had to come home and try to study some more - lol

friday : Toast with tuna mayonaise
Saturday: we had friends over for dinner, lazagne, and salad, with garlic and cheese french loaf, dessert was a brandy cake, and ice-cream with toffee sauce

Sunday: we decided on a big lunch for my brothers birthday instead of dinner - lol expecting thunder showers - lol
So we had a bbq, with kebabs, mini sausages, tons of different salads, and for dessert - you guessed it - lol
ice cream and toffee sauce - lol

Big hugs to all

I worked out at the gym for an hour and I think I ate triple the amount of calories I normally do today. icon_redface.gif My mom made beef roast with carrots, potatoes, green beans, cinnamon baked apples, fresh sliced tomatoes and green pepper and rolls with homemade gravy. I completely forgot about eating healthier and my goodness was that gravy worth it (of course my butt and thighs will disagree with me on that one.) I made the dessert and did homemade brownies with a killer quality chocolate and my first ever custard-coconut pie. I'm not a big pie baker or eater. My dad really liked it though and he's hard to impress because he's so picky when it comes to custard pies. I'm happy with how the brownies turned out but they came out very thick. I baked it in the 8inch square pan the recipe said too but it could have been probably done in a 9x13 honestly for thinner (more normal sized) brownies. This brownie looked like a layer of cake. HMMMM....that actually gives me an idea.

Well, I'm off to clean and then go to bed. Have a great night everyone!

Alright, am I gonna have to go to everyone's house and cook dinner just to make sure you are all eating. Don't worry K2cakes, I'll make yours vegan so you won't be left out. Don't make me come to your all's houses!!! I'll make sure to leave you all 10 pounds heavier!

Tonight was grilled cajun marinated chicken breast, grilled yellow-orange bell peppers with onion and seasonings, grilled pineapple, bread with butter, asparagus that was seasoned and baked and then sprinkled with parm. cheese, roasted red skinned potatoes and ice cream.

You all better start eating. That's big momma's final warning! icon_lol.gif

Sorry mommy I am late to dinner. Please don't spank me to hard.. LOL

I will let you come to my house and cook all you want..

Perfect example of why Brooke's dinner tonight was ham and cheese hot pockets. I was out getting some supplies for the wedding cake I have this Friday. Came home to find her getting the hot pockets out of the microwave. And Mike ate alot earlier when he got off of work and wasn't hungry. Jordan had to work tonight so he ate there. Me I munched on a few fritos a few minutes ago.. What can I say I am a bad mommy when I got a wedding cake to do LOL

Sorry I don't have time to read up. I gotta make some mints for the wedding and work on cupcake cake for nieces B-Day I gotta have on Wed. Oct. is a insane month for me..

Woo hoo mkolmar's coming to visit and cook dinner can we have the French Chocolate cake too icon_biggrin.gif . Oops I don't think it's supposed to be a good thing, oh dear we're in trouble icon_cry.gif (smiles sweetly and looks at the ground ashamed). Will try to do better icon_lol.gif

I've just made my 1st ever batch of No Fail Sugar Cookies as a practice run. They turned out nice though I think I should have made them thicker, not really sure how thick they should be has anyone made them before? My nephew is after cookie cakes, it looks like a 3 tiered wedding cake made up with 9 cookies in 3 different sizes. as a bombonierre for his wedding in Feb. He also wants a 3 tier wedding cake with lillies so that should keep me busy icon_cool.gif

I was really angry about the last wedding cake I made they had 60 cupcakes plus boxes and a top tier and the reception place told them there wasn't enough boxes for the cupcakes icon_evil.gif I transported them in their boxes and left them at the Reception place. When I went to pick up the cupcake stand, believe it or not they gave me back the empty boxes (which they claimed not to have) plus 14 cupcakes (in their boxes) that they didn't even bring out icon_evil.gificon_mad.gif . I wrote a letter to the place expressing my disappointment icon_mad.gif also explaining they should have given the extra cakes to the bride not back to me. Anyway I rang the bride today as she's back from her honeymoon and told her I had the extra cupcakes in my freezer, for her to pick up to give to anyone that missed out and also if there were any extra guests that missed out I would make any extra ones complimentary. She said the Function manager who she had been dealing with was sacked that day and left no instructions they even missed out on champagne for their wedding toast. tapedshut.gif won't say what I thought.

On Saturday we went to a BBQ I had to leave just when they started cooking had to take DS to an estedford. They kept a plate for me it was steak, kebab, sausage, green salad and a noodle salad. Our friends had visitors from South Africa, I told them I knew a terrific cake decorator there icon_biggrin.gif .
Sunday was baked lamb and roasted potatoes, pumpkin, sweet potato, peas, carrots and corn.
Monday Marinated port chops, fresh asparagus, filled pasta, beans and carrots
Tonight we had a tasty spaghetti dish it has chicken and tomato base.

OK mkolmar promise not to get offside with you again icon_biggrin.gificon_wink.gificon_lol.gif
Will talk again real soon icon_lol.gif

icon_surprised.gif Sorry....I hate when the momma's mad! icon_redface.gif But you can come cook here anytime..... icon_wink.gif

Yes, I am still eating healther. I am down 12lbs (with tapedshut.gif more to go). We are going out of town this weekend with friends, so I know it will not be a real healthy weekend, but that's ok...Monday I will get right back to it.
Sparkle....I haven't made the NFSC before. I have saved the recipe, planning to do so. I will probably try them for Christmas. How frustrating the whole cup cake thing must have been for you! Has spring arrived at your little part of the world?

Janine....you are always so busy. I'm glad the classes are going well. Your classes and exams sound like a lot of work. What a blessing that you enjoy it so much. I would love to come spend the winter over at your hot, hot place. icon_cool.gif I am no fan of the cold and snow. I am trying to enjoy fall this year. I usually don't because I know it brings winter along.

Kay....You sound like your are crazy busy. At least there were hot pockets for Brooke to heat and eat. icon_wink.gif That makes you a good mommy.

K2....glad your back. Family drama sucks! Sorry you are dealing with it. Pumpkin land sounds like so much fun. I always enjoy going, we have a farm near us that does the pumpking thing. They have the barns open for the kids to see the animals, and old tractors to climb on. The turkeys just walk around the farm...I never realized how big they were till the first time we took our youngest. She was just 2 and walking around on her own and they came over to her.. icon_eek.gif They were way bigger than her.

Mkolmar....Thanks for calling everyone to the table. Sounds like you are doing well with your healthy eating as well (exclucing Sunday dinner at your folks house). I wished we lived closer...I would love a work out partner...my BF that moved to Utah was my work out buddie. She is a personal trainer and was a good accountability partner. Are the leaves in peak season up by you or past. We have some color... Nothing spectular this fall.

I have cooked ....
Saturday was spagheti, with italain sausage, sweet corn and garlic bread. I had a lean hamburger patty with cauliflower.
Sunday...they ate left over spaghetti. I had a boneless chicken breast with a salad.
Monday I made stuffed red peppers...I had a bonelss chicken breast with a salad.
I have no idea what we will have tonight. I might grill pork chops out.
I have to take our youngest to the orthodontist today for the first time. The dentist said that she needs work.... icon_cry.gif Both the older kids needed LOTS of work...oh well, now they have pretty teeth.
Have a great day ladies.

icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif You are all so funny.
If I could afford it I really would come visit all of you to cook though.

Ohara-good job on the weight loss girl!!! Congrats!
Janine--my friend works with someone in your town for food products. I can't remember the companies name. I'll have to ask him again. He said their product is wonderful though. When he told me where they were located my ears perked up and I said "Hey, I have a friend who lives there."
K2--I hope the family stuff is calming down. It was so good talking to you the other day.
Kay-my twin--There is no shame in not being able to cook when you are busy. I think we've all been there before.
Sparkle--I feel sorry for that bride. Sounds like a few things went wrong that day.

I made 2 French chocolate cakes today and took them to my kids school for the teachers. I have a cake to make for a funeral on TH. A woman I know died from a lengthy battle with cancer. I need to make a cake for 70 people roughly and have no idea what to do....any ideas?

Well, I hope you all eat well and stay at the table before I threaten you again

Hi everybody! (I'll write more tonight, just a quick break during "naptime" which is more like "scream time". icon_lol.gif )

I think it would be great if we all could get together once a year somewhere central. (if money was given to us, that is). You've all really grown on me and I never thought I'd meet "friends" via the internet. So let's start saving those pennies (like we don't already???). icon_rolleyes.gif
Oh, and yes I do eat... I've just been SO busy, like everyone else...

(Melissa ~ it was great talking on the phone with you as well. You have a great sense of humor and who knew we had SO much in common...)
