WEll it turned out that there really wasnt enough leftover for him to decorate after I made the ones for school. So I asked him last night if he wanted to get a dessert from the restaurant...or I could make him a cake. I was hoping he'd just want one from the restaurant....He says, oh I'll just have the cake. Oh my boy. So I have to decorate it today. Nothing too fancy.

LOL icon_biggrin.gif They have no idea how much time we put into them, do they!!!??!!

My eldest son is very particular about what he wants his cake to be each year, and he always wants a lot of detail, BUT he doesn't like cake!!! He doesn't eat any! Go figure!!

155 today! I am down about 10 pounds! I was trying on some of my clothes and they fit better. I can't believe I was wearing them before (10 pounds more!) I guess it was my refusal to go up a dress size!

Weight watchers helped me alot . It took me 3 years to lose the weight from 230 to my current weight of 115 pounds. I walked alog. Also giving up any form of sugar, white flour, and junk food helps.

Be sure to check with your health care doctor.

Walking helps and any movement.

I also kept a food journal of anything that I ate. Once I was aware of what I ate, I subsitute food with exercise.

I stayed away from junk food the weight will come off.

Hi everyone! You all are doing so well!!!! I miss you guys, and hopefully things will be slower for me for a bit and I can get on more.

I have renewed my commitment to my health, and I know you guys were a great addition to my support system.

sorry I have been gone so long!

yay, I am glad you are back Michelle! It has been down to three of us for a long time! I have also renewed my committment by joining a place called Medical Weight Loss. By doing that I have to go in there 3 times a week to get weighed in and have them check my food journal. I can't tell you how having to be accountable really is making a difference for me. If I don't commit to it then I have wasted a lot of money! I am doing it this time!

BTW did anyone watch Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution last week? Very interesting!

Thanks for the welcome back!
I am afraid to weigh myself again. I lost 20 last year and know that I have gained 10 if not 15 back, but will weigh on Friday like I always did.
I got up and did my work out this morning. Plan on another when I get home.
Have a great day all

Yay!! Great to have a member return!!! Welcome back Michelle.

I am doing ok. I weighed myself a few days ago and had only lost .2 since last weighing, so I'm not going to look again til next week. Doing lots of brushcutting though, and it's pretty dense bush in places, so it's pretty hard work. Hopefully the scales will look a bit better next time icon_biggrin.gif

I agree with Merissa, loosing .2 is better than gaining that .2!
Well I worked out last night for the first time in a long time. I did MFC and Mya kicked my butt!!! I got up and did WATP this morning as well. So I think I feel pretty good about my workouts again. Although I wont workout tomorrow or Friday afternoon since I wont be going straight home. But this will not derail me this time. I will pick up afternoon workouts again on Monday!

I will weigh on Friday and let you all know where I stand, ugh so not looking forward to it. But I also realized that when I weighed in every week I was aware and made changes when things werent going right.

have a great day everyone!

WEll I picked up the .2 pounds that Sonia lost at my weigh in today. I am not sure how, but I did! Oh well. It is a little disappointing, but I just have to go on. Actually though I weighed less this morning than I have since I started the program (154.1) and 153.2 after my workout..all dehydrated. So the way I figure I was down by about a 1/2 pound since Monday, but not by the time I got to weigh in. Oh well. I was hoping to be down to 150 by Easter....but I don't see that happening!

What's MFC, Michelle? Is it a DVD workout? Really glad to have you back. I tried pm'ing Susan awhile back, but didn't hear from her. I hope she is doing okay with her stressful new "job" and since getting the lap band. I wonder how much weight she has lost??

Welcome back, Michelle! Good to hear from you again.

I'm really glad to hear that everyone's weight loss is back on track. I know I'm getting a workout at work. I am also starting to walk home from work again on Saturday. Just that mile and a half drive was nuts this afternoon. Took about 20 minutes this afternoon.

I'll be weighing in tomorrow morning, but I am sure I am still fluctuating at the same weight.

Muffincakes, it is alway nice to hear a success story. Welcome. Check back any time.

Checking in quickly...... I've had a great day with my eating. Have been very self cotrolled - the best I've been in a long time. And I went shopping for Easter chocolates for the boys this evening, and bought none for DH & I, as we're both trying to lose weight. He said we'll nibble on each other istead icon_redface.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

Good morning to all, and afternoon to some!!!
MFC is My Fitness Coach game on the Wii. It is like doing a DVD, except it changes everytime you put it in like a video game. As you get better it gets harder, and if something is too hard you tell Mya (the instructor) and she makes it a bit easier the next time. I like it because it is never the same thing like DVD workouts. I only did her once this week because she killed my abs, I have not been able to do any ab work since and even sneezing hurts!!! LOL They feel much better today so I think I will start on Monday, and do her M,W, next week to see how it goes and work up to M,T,W and TH like I was doing.
I still do the Walk Away The Pounds every morning, I still like those since they are easy to follow and I can make them hard when I want to, but I am at least moving for 30 min a day every day. The only day I take off is Sunday.
I think about Susan everytime I am on Spark People. I think I may send her a message there and see if I get anything. Not sure how she is doing as I havent heard from her in almost a year.
Well I have written a book as usual!!! LOL I am off to work then the weekend YEA
In case I dont get here for the rest of the weekend (dont think I will he home) everyone have a great Easter!

I hate it when it hurts to sneeze! LOL Guess you got a good workout!!

This is going to be a tough weekend to keep on track with Easter and all! I think I can avoid the candy, so far I am not very tempted by that. But of course I won't be cooking for myself Sunday and I am bringing dessert. Which I'll want to try. I don't know, maybe I can get in an extra workout this weekend.

It's Monday morning here. I've had a great weekend. We met up with my Mum & Dad yesterday for lunch, and even though I told her we didn't want any Easter chocolate because we were dieting, she couldn't resist bringing us a few that she'd made in a mould. I ate 4 little ones icon_redface.gif but that's the best i've ever been at Easter!!!

This morning I'm down to 155.4. That's the lowest I've been in ages!

wooohooo! That's great Sonia! I did fairly well at easter too. I did eat the typical Easter dinner, but I didn't have a lot of anything. I also avoided two easter breakfasts (pancakes and sausage) and just had my regular cereal instead. I did have a piece of cake last night that I made (carrot) I tried a new recipe so I couldnt resist!

I think I have been hanging out around 153-154 for several days now. My original goal was to be 150 by Easter. When I knew that wouldnt happen I went for 152. I guess I didnt make that either. Oh well!

Awesome Sonia! I had a great Easter. I didnt plan on being good so I didnt disapoint myself! I did better than I thought I would. I had one small piece of cake, and that was it for the sweets. But I ate food, ribs, green bean caserole, a little bit of potatoe salad. It was wonderful. There are times that I refuse to limit myself and holiday dinners are one of them. If I would have said I will not eat much, I would have been very angry at myself and then slide down that slope again!! Been there many many times didnt want to go again. This worked for me. I started good again this morning.

I did my morning workout, and had waffels with yogurt and fresh black berries on them. I made a salad for lunch and plan on chicken for dinner.

Have a great day everyone.

Sonia, that's great! Glad to hear that your are going in the right direction. You, too, Merissa! Michelle, you should never beat yourself up for a bit of a slip. You should give yourself permission to indulge every once in a while.

I didn't have any chocolate for Easter. We had left over chicken for dinner yesterday. I had to work but got out at a halfway decent time because the electric went out and we had to close down and call an electrician. Not so today. I just got home about a half hour ago. And I started at 5:30 this morning.

Last time I weighed in (Thursday), I was down .6 pounds.

Hey, it sounds like we're ALL doing ok!! Michelle, I like your reasoning. I think if we don't indulge once in a while we end up ruining the diet plan altogether. Well, that's ME, anyway!

It sounds like you all have big Easter dinners, same as Christmas, is that right?? It's not such a big thing here. Well, I know there are some who have all their family over for a big lunch, but it's not a tradition that my DH or I ever grew up with. We've spent most of the break at home, catching up on a bit of house maintenance and making a path! Yay, it's great to see things getting accomplished!!

Too much candy for Easter around here! wow, we have as much candy as we did for Halloween. I did eat 2 jelly beans and 2 mini chocolate eggs. I am not sure they were worth it, but the carrot cake on Sunday was!

I saw 152.3 this morning. This was post work out though. 2 people who havent seen me in awhile and are unaware of my current dieting told me that it looked like I lost weight. Plus my clothes are getting much looser, so I am happy with my progress.

I asked Hubby, and he didn't even check the clearance candy! I'm, not going to get any candy, I guess. I never get to go out.

All holidays are a big thing around here, Sonia. Big Thanksgiving dinner (guess you don't have that one), big Christmas dinner, big Easter dinner (complete with Easter baskets filled with candy). Then you have Memorial Day, Forth of July, and Labor day, with picnics. A large family dinner for Mothers Day in May and a picnic for Fathers Day in June. I guess we Americans don't have to have too much of an excuse for a get together and food.

I never got too much candy at Easter. My daughter always got something special to play with for Easter and then some candy for the family, never too much since there were only three of us.

I did eat a whole package of peeps by myself last week, though.

Yep, you certainly have many occasions to feast!! We really only have a big Christmas dinner. I know of some who have a large feast on New Years' Day and Easter as well, but we don't go to any trouble on Mothers Day, or Fathers Day.

You're doing great, Merissa! Hopefully I'll be able to catch up soon. I got the munchies yesterday, but I'm back on track today, and I'll leave it a few days before I weigh again icon_wink.gif

yes, lots of feasting here....no wonder we are the fattest nation on earth. It's pretty sad really!

Yesterday I took the kids to a museum and they had one room dedicated to "the body." Stuff about keeping healthy, fit, eating right, effects of too much sun, alcohol etc. Anyway had a display comparing 5 pounds of muscle to 5 pounds of fat. Wow...5 pounds of fat was big! Almost the size of a small loaf of sandwich bread I would say! 5 pounds of muscle might have been about hte size of a softball. So it has given me new inspiration! 5 pounds never really seemed like a lot to me, but it does now! taking of 2 or 3 of those "loaves" would make a big difference to how you look and feel!

I have seen that too Merissa and it sure does put things into perspective! We have had some things come up so my afternoon workouts have been way laid. We had truck trouble yesterday took tht day off to get that taken care of, now have to pick it up after work today. At least it wasnt too long but a bit to fix. I hate it when I get money in the bank and have a cusion......then BAM half of it out the door at once. Oh well it could have been WAY worse!
have a great day everyone!
