party.gifparty.gifparty.gif Happy Birthday Kay party.gifparty.gifparty.gif
Sorry it's late...sounds like it was a pretty good one.

leily...we are from Champaign, Ill. Home of the University of Illinois...thus the Chief as my avatar. Sorry about the house, a better one will come along. Your vacation plans sound great.

Thumperbunny.....yes, my DD would much rather eat out than at home. Sounds like you are busy. Hope you get some rest.

mkolmar...nice of you to cook for your friend. I imagine she has her hands full. I'm sure she is blessed to have a friend like you. I would have loved to go to Chicago, if I hadn't already planned so many trips I might have been able to do it. I have 5 trips planned between Nov and March.

Tonight for dinner we went to the park and had a picnic. When I asked DD if there was anything that she had wanted to do this summer that we hadn't done...her response was to go on a picnic at the park. So we did.
I made roast beef sandwiches, fruit salad, chips and angel food cake.
We had a good time, played on the play ground, took a hike and ate.
We will try to do this again before cold weather.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That cake sounds great with all those candles shoved on it..

leily--sorry about the house, but that's just God's way of saying he has a better one for you somewhere else.

Thumperbunny--my kids would rather eat fast food too sometimes.

Ohara--- I'm planning on actually taking one this year and probably 1 or 2 this coming year. I'll tell ya next time around!

christi-must be starving she hasn't been here in a while icon_lol.gif

cakesbyjess--your spot is always open! as soon as you get a chance stop by for a visit.

well ya'll DH and I are trying to get ready for our trip. boy, there's a lot of loose ends to tye up. We leave Sunday and will be back on Saturday.
My daughters birthday is this Saturday and she'll be 4. We were planning on going to the beach in Port Clinton again, but the forcast says a high of 65 that day icon_surprised.gif I'm praying for at least 80 otherwise I'll have to re-schedual everything yet again. Pray for warmer wheather!

yesterday was waffles and fruit. (breakfast food)--all I had time for as I ran out the door to work.
My DH can't eat anything because he's having a procedure done today. He's so hungry. He hasn't ate since yesterday morning. He's had a lil' bit of a pale jello and some flavor ice and a whole lot of water and those drinks you have to drink when they tell you. Anyways, once he gets his results in I tell you all. They are looking for irratable bowl syndrom, Chron's disease or something else.

DH's procedure went well, said everything looks normal and they think all of his allments are because of the HUGE amount of stress he is under with his business. The doc did take some biopsy's and will call with the results. he's just really tired right now and is opting to sleep rather than eat.

Tonight was breaded pan fried pork chops (with carmelized onions and mushrooms on top for DH's) hot bread, red skinned mashed taters, cantalope and cinnamon applesauce. Dessert was strawberry cupcakes with chocolate ganache on top.

mkolmar....glad to hear you DH tests were ok. Ain't stress great. It is amazing what stress will do to a body. Your dinner sounds great.

Christi...hope all is well with you and yours.

Tonight was stuffed red peppers, corn on the cob, cottage cheese...and there are dark chocolate brownies in the oven as I type. I am praying for will power so I don't eat any icon_cry.gif I am trying so hard to lose weight....it has been such a struggle. My doctor says that I am having such a hard time because of all the stress in my life. Great....I'll get rid of that icon_wink.gif

leily....love help support you on living healthier.

Leily--be happy to be your support group, I could use some too. I work in a gym but yet am more interested in sleep than working out lately.

Ok it has been a wicked day GGGRRRR
I was working on 2 cakes. Had them both mixed and baked and was working on the frosting and my MIXER DIED. The words that flew out of my mouth at 5:30 Wed. morning weren't nice. I had been up all night and was going to finish the frosting and go to bed. I did want to go to bed and hide and not get up GGRRR. So the one cake was just a freebie and she just wanted it for her DH to snack on. I was going to at least put a border on it. But I called her and said I had it iced and it isn't anything pretty. I told her what happened and she said no problem he is just going to eat it. It doesn't need to be fancy. Cause I needed to save the frosting for the one I am decorating tonight for a birthday for Thur. I do have a hand held mixer but it kills my arms and hands to use it. My sis thinks she has a stand mixer in her cupboard and hasn't used it forever. She not sure if it still works but she is going to give it to me to try. CAUSE SHE NEEDS A B-DAY CAKE FOR A DD LOL And we are tight on money right now so pray it work for me....

Ok anyway sorry to ramble on I am still frustrated.

Tonight was spaghetti, and different garlic breads and breadsticks. I have some mushrooms I was going to saute for DH but I don't know what to put with it for when he gets home.

On a positive note SCHOOL STARTS THUR. (TODAY) YYYYEEEEAAAHHHH

Melissa (twin) I am glad DH test went ok. And have fun on your trip. Eat good foods for us while you are gone and let us know what you have.

Ohara YUM stuffed peppers and corn. RESIST THE BROWNIES LOL But I am sure they were yelling at you to eat them.

CHRISTI WHERE ARE YOU GIRL WE MISS YOU

Thumperbunny are your kiddos back to school yet???

hey christi!!!!! Welcome back to the table girl, I was beginning to wonder if you were starving to death icon_wink.gif
Tonight is cheese and bacon stuffed chicken breasts, red skinned mashed taters, green beans and fruit.
I'm really busy today. Getting ready to pick up my neice and take all 5 kids to the Ymca for swimming. Drop of neice. Come home and give baths plus put the kids to bed. Go grocery shopping for upcoming week. Finish DD birthday cake for tomorrow which has to travel over an hour to the beach. Finsih laundry, dishes and packing for Sunday and start getting stuff in line so DH and I can leave. So much to do so little time!
It looks like Hurrican Dean may bypass Costa Rica, keeping fingers crossed, since that's where we are traveling too. I just worry about where it's going next and the people there.

party.gif WELCOME BACK CHRISTI party.gif

Update on the mixer. I had the box and the papers for it so I took it back to Wal-Mart and they exchanged it. SSHHHH I didn't tell them DH got it for me almost 2 years ago. GUESS WHAT I AM GOING TO DO TONIGHT??? Take her for a spin or 2 icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

I didn't really cook tonight. DD had left over spaghetti and popcorn as she watched High School Musical 2. And when DS got home from work he asked me to make him an egg sandwich. DH didn't eat anything before work. So I better make him something good for when he gets home.

Last night DH brought home some Authentic Mexican Burritos that a guy brings to work and sells. They are so YUMMY. DH like his Tamales and he isn't bringing them till next week.

OK MY MIXER IS CALLING ME LOL GOTTA GO

Well everyone I made homemade spaghetti sauce for the kids to have with dinner tomorrow since DH and I will be gone. I made the cake and just don't have the time to decorate it, so it's not going to get done, so guess what? I'm buying one from Krogers icon_cry.gif I'm so disappointed about that but all she wants is Ariel the little mermaid and they have the kits for it there. *sigh* my daughter gets a store bought cake today---my world is ending-- The cake that is made as somewhat frosted the kids have been decorating and they will eat it.
I still have to go finish shopping for the trip, Kyra's birthday, grocery store and finish packing and getting everything in order here before tomorrow. I'm buying 2 pieces of poster board and writing our contact info, pediatricians #, dentists # and emergency contact #'s for my MIL and mom and hanging it on the wall. I still have to get all 4 kids clothes and pj's out for the week and set out so they don't have to worry about it. Put the insurance cards, will and epi-pen somewhere out of site from the kids but in reach for the adults. So yeah, the cake had to go for today. Krogers said to just pick one out of the cooler *shudder*.

We are having pizza for dinner tonight with cake, pretzels, and whatever I can grab and have as a snack item.
My baby is 4 today icon_cry.gif She is dressed in her princess dress, sash that say's "Perfect Princess" and her pink fallerina (her way of saying ballerina) shoes for the beach icon_confused.gificon_rolleyes.gif

Anyways, I'll try checking in tonight before we leave early in the morning. Cakes by jess, christi, thumperbunny, ohara, kay, leily and if there happens to be anyone I missed----have a great week, I'll miss all of ya very much! just dust off my seat this week at the table and I promise to be back soon.--Much love, melissa

sorry I dissapeard this week. I have two of the 6 projects that I am project managing going horribly wrong. They are ones where you don't think anything else can go wrong, and well.... it does. So I have been extreamly stressed this week. However being stressed I went to the Y and lifted weights and exercised more! It is true I did feel better after doing it (shhh don't tell the BF he was right!)

Tues - Pedicure with mom so we had Pancheros, Steak tacos!
Wednesday - Completely exhausted, came home, went to take a nap at about 6:30pm... woke up the next morning to my alarm... so no dinner
Thursday - Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and corn on the cob (yep i cooked at home again!)
Friday - BF took me out to the comedy club (I think to help relieve some of the stress so I wasn't so crabby this weekend) Had one of the best grilled chicken sandwhiches ever from there along with chips and salsa

Melissa - Have a great time, can't wait to hear all about it when you get back!

I am so glad to see more people coming back to sit down to dinner with us too! Well I am off again, sounds like we will be going tubing and camping today as long as the rain holds off so I have to go round up some things for the day.

See you soon!

After I make DH his food. I kind of keep a similair schedule like him. I go to bad about 2 hours before he gets home and during the school year I get back up at 7 to get kids off to school and then lay back down for a few hours. And after DH eats and relaxes he comes to bed. And I wake him up around 8 in the evening and we can spend some family time before he has to go to work. WE ARE WEIRD I KNOW. But I can do cakes without hassle when the kids are sleeping LOL

Ok tonight DD had a salad. She was tired school is kicking her butt LOL Plus she has been swimming in the evening for a few hours. I made Hot dogs and fries for DH but he didn't go to bed till late. The Nascar race was postponed till today so he stayed up and watched it. So he grabbed a few dogs without the bun and a few fries from the basket. Between his shower and getting dressed.

I am thinking of making a burrito of sorts with the left over steak from his supper/breakfast and puttting it with some rice in a tortilla. But I may change my mind and let him just eat the hot dogs when he gets home....

Well another busy week! Only 6 days until my apprenticeship class starts again, and only 6 days until we leave on vacation, so it has been pretty hectic at work and at home trying to get ready for it all.

Monday I got to pick up one of the mixers I ordered (it's a pink one for my grandma! I can't wait to give it to her!!!) Also got a blender, which has been used about 10 times already since monday (can we say smoothies?)

Last night cleaned up some more of the kitchen b/c I want to bake some cookies to take on our trip. So I made a quick dinner that was one box of four cheese rice-a-roni with a can of cooked chicken, and then made some broccoli on the side... for desert, yep had to use that blender! Had a strawberry smoothie.

Tonight will probably be tacos as it is quick and easy too. I hope to mix up at least one batch of cookie dough tonight, but I think it might be to hot to bake them.
