cowboy.gifcowboy.gif <---Those cowboys are for my Southwest/Cookie bakin' Mom inspiration.

Home made Petros (fritos, chili, cheese and sour cream) was our thing tonight. DH (aka the Old Man) is working an extra security job tonight, so the youngest and I are at home. I'm doing cookies, he's playing video games. Ahhhhhh.... thumbs_up.gif (my feet do hurt, though; gotta find somethin' rotten in the mix!)

MKOLMAR: Awwww. Poor kids. POOR MOM!! Girrrl--go get somethin' outta that fridge! judge.gif (Mother has spoken!)

Thanks everyone for your prayers and well wishes. My brother is doing better today. I was worried alittle earlier though. He was sitting up sleeping and his food tray was in front of him and he would take a spoon of soup and fall back to sleep with it in his mouth. I was afraid he would choke. He didn't sleep much at all last night. But today he slept thumbs_up.gif I think he wanted sleep so he could see us (Huskers) get our butts whooped icon_cry.gif So when I talked to him tonight I knew he felt better cause he called me by my first name that he uses to piss me off. True sign he is getting better. He sounded better. His jaw is still messed up but like with a 2 yr old if you listen you can understand. Anyway I feel better tonight. I babysat again tonight. Actually had 3 more nieces earlier while there MOM had to work so DAD could sleep. He works overnight like my DH. It kept my mind off of things.

I can't remember who had the fried rice can you send me some icon_lol.gif

mkolmar Hope the kids ickeys get better soon

Mxpark and others he did have someone watching over him Our Dad he passed away 14 yrs ago. I believe he was in that car and held him tight. And Yes he is a tuffy. A hard headed tuffy. He ain't going to let this stop him. Even in January be SAFE

knox I wondered what all the crazy cake talk was about. Better to turn something down when you don't know what the heck they want thumbs_up.gif

Ok on to food The kiddos had the leftover chicken and noodles. For Dh I made steak and baked potatoes. I will have that in abit. I am playing hostess to my pain sister and kids. So she had steak and some sleep on my couch icon_cry.gif Sorry she is the pain in the butt baby sister who lives about 50 miles away and didn't want to drive home. Love her but icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif she is the baby for a reason icon_lol.gificon_lol.gif Thought I needed the laugh icon_lol.gif

Glad to hear he is doing better, I said a prayer for him last night. Hope you get some much needed rest though too!!!! Things like this take a lot out of you emotionly.

Tonight I'm is my neices 10th brithday party so I'll be having hard and soft shell tacos. The 15 month olds bronchiolitis is doing much better than yesterday (been on medicine for a few days) My daughter threw-up 2x yesterday and then was back to normal icon_confused.gif

I probly will go and deliver the cake and present and stay for a few minutes. My kids are 100% back to normal now but I still may not take them just in case.

mmmmm tacos!!!!! I like mexican but only get to eat it about once a year since my DH hates mexican food. icon_confused.gif

Well...shoo! WHAT a DAY!!! dunce.gifouch.gifdunce.gif

I started early today, y'all. (6:30) Which is way too early for a girl on a "vacation," right?

Yeah. Well--you guessed it. I took a massive order for the cabin business for cookies. Now--these ain't those beautiful creations y'all make like cookie boquets and all that. Nah. Just some good ole' country cookin' recipes.

Today I've rolled, mixed, stirred, squirted, dropped and chopped all day. thumbsdown.gif

60 cake truffles
36 toffee brickle cookies
36 fruitcake cookies
36 pieces white chocolate jewel fudge
36 pieces chocolate chunk fudge
24 mini cheesecake cups
36 oreo truffles
24 decorated sugar cookies (again--not pretty like y'alls!)

These were all to hand out to the cabin reservations offices. I'll post pics on Tuesday.

Tonight, it's like 22 degrees out there, and I wanted a hearty dinner! thumbs_up.gif Yesterday at the grocery, they had 4 thin ribeyes marked down to $9.00. So I scarfed 'em right up! thumbs_up.gif

Ribeyes--pan fried w/garlic and spices
Cheesy au-gratin potatoes from scratch
Shelly beans & green beans
Tea w/lemons & limes
Leftover "ugly" cookies

Last night was burritoes. Guess I'm going to have to start making two pansful of it. Running out quickly as my 2 yr old loves them (without a shell).

Tonight was breaded chicken breast fritters, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn, and grean beans.

It's still cold here. Like 17*F last I checked. Brrrr. Most of the ice and snow is off the roads.

What. A. Day. Seriously, Y'all...What. A. Day!! dunce.gif

Wow, I've been up since 6:30 today, too. Got a cake order for an anniversary cake due tomorrow. Whew! Finished up all of the cookies and fudge. I'm baking the cake layers right now. GAH!! tapedshut.gif

This evening, I took some broccoli & cheese soup and chicken parmesan sandwiches with cookies over to my friend's house. She burned her left leg (2nd and 3rd degree burns) from the left knee to the left ankle. Just had surgery to remove dead skin, and soon she'll have to have grafts done. She can't get around, so... icon_sad.gif

We had the broccoli & cheese soup and the chicken parmesan sandwiches. The youngest didn't want that, so he had Spaghettio's.

Yesterday I made chili per request of kids. DH doesn't eat chili usually cause it don't like him icon_cry.gif So he had left over steak. Tonight DD wanted taco salad, DH had softshell tacos, DS had his fav. CHILI. I don't know which I will eat yet. I might get crazy and put some chili in my taco salad.
I need to bake a birthday cake for my brothers girlfriend. Her birthday is Wed. and he wants to suprise her with a cake. I am stumped at what to put on it. She not a girly girl. She loves eagles, hunting, and motorcylces. So I gotta think this one through. Any ideas greatly appreciated. It has to be pretty easy because I will be at her house most of the day. I may have to take my stuff to her house to decorate it. While I babysit him while she is at work.
He was released from hospital and is staying at her house. She lives here and he lives 50 miles away. He is staying with her because it is closer to the doctors. He will have oral surgery to repair his jaw Friday. And we are going to get a second opinion on his ribs and back. The doctor he got at the hospital was an ASS. He was treating him like a drunk driver. And he wasn't and niether was the girl taking him home. She just lost control of the vehcile and it hit a tree and rolled. He was stupid for not wearing a seatbelt. But he was smart and had a driver thumbs_up.gif But the doc had horrible bedside manner. He wanted to release him the morning after the accident. The other doctor for his jaw said No he is in to much pain to go home. He is all drugged up. And needs help with his meds. And he falls asleep in the oddest places. He will nod off sitting at the counter eating. Not good cause he has fallen over twice. And he forgets what he is doing. He was trying to plug the heating pad in and almost fell over into the fishtank with the plugged in pad. He is a very stubborn guy and has to try to do everything himself. This is good and bad. I am sitting with a 42 yr old (2yr old) But I love him icon_lol.gif

Knox I hope your friend gets well soon. Does she have little ones as well?? I will be thinking of her. And man doing all that candy and cakes. You are so like me. VACATION WHAT VACATION At least I wouldn't get up at 6:30 in the morning that would be when I would go to bed icon_razz.gif Get some rest though. I have some orders for christmas goodies also. I am suppose to call a woman this week to finalize what she wants.

Juju it is still cold here at night but is suppose to get in the 40's tomorrow in the day. I am glad you are thawing out thumbs_up.gif

Hi Everybody icon_biggrin.gif old and new,
I'm back from my vacation and the extra week I took here at home. I'll share the fun stuff later, right now I want to let you all know how glad I am to be back at our 'Supper Table.' And tho as I caught up on my reading I realized that many of you have been through a lot while I was gone.

KC* I hope everything continues to go well for your Bro. He is a lucky man. I lived in Crofton for a spell in my young adult life and remember well the winters and the rural roads with no lights, except those on the cars. Many young lives lost for dum reasons. I'm glad to see your Bro and his friend made the right decisions even if it didn't turn out better. I hope his recovery continues to go well.

Everyone else I hope you understand if I don't individualy address you now, but know that I did catch up on all of your news and look forward to sharing Supper conversation with you again.

*************
Dinner Tonight (oops the clock says it was last night now, in TX)

DH & I went to IHOP so we both had breakfast
Kiddos had Chicken Nuggets, Yogurt, and whatever junk food we have in the pantry while their Poppa and I were out.
Funfetti cake with homemade icing. My little guy's favorite. thumbs_up.gif
*************

I'll see you all later tonight. Till then everyone...Be healthy, Be safe, & warm. icon_wink.gif

Missed you guys!!!

Kay-I'm so glad your brother is ok! My brother wrecked his motorcylce (not wearing a helmet-cussing under my breath! icon_mad.gif ) a few years back so I know exactly how you feel. He was very lucky too.

Welcome peacock! There's always room at our table!

Ok, so after I clean denise's house and talk 80's hair bands icon_lol.gif and then make some dinners for Ohara who else needs stuff?? icon_lol.gif I'm open for business! icon_lol.gif

So last night we had leftover baked rotini and green beans and
tonight we had:
Cajun style broiled talapia
rice
mixed veggies (I wanted okra with tomato and onion but we just had that the other night! with pork chops and mashed red potatoes and cornbread)

I'm so happy we got to decorate our Christmas tree tonight! I had to teach the little noodle that he can only touch the ornaments with one finger! Not an easy thing for a 2 yo to get!

Tonight's Dinner Menu
******************
Homemade softshell tacos, with the works
Spanish rice
Ice Water
******************

Thanks for all the..Welcome Back's..

Pea...Welcome to the Table. Sorry I couldn't help out with your dinner planning tonight. But keep hanging around here you will not only get hungry from time to time but you'll catch a few ideas along the way too.

KC...Our vacation was great! It did exactly what it was intended to do. We rested, we played, we laughed, we ate anything we wanted, and we came home refreshed. Our best times were the 3 days we spent at the Disneyland Resort & Disney California Adventure. The kiddos had so much fun and really weren't ready to leave. They want us to spend a week there next time. Thank goodness they did not ask if we could move there too. Cost of living is still higher there than here. We even managed to find a way for our little guy to enjoy it. Any ride he wanted to go on all we needed to do was let the Cast Member know that he was Autistic and they would let him go right on. No waiting in line for him. The Cast Members even let us get as close as we needed to take pictures of him. The CM (Bonnie) who did my oldest childrens Silhouettes 21 yrs ago did our 3 little ones too. She has been there for 32 yrs and the Gentleman she first worked with had been there from the beginning. The 'Christmas Fantasy Parade' was very nice but the Firework shows for 'Believe...in the Magic' (Main Street), and the Fantasmic Show ( off of Tom Saywer's Island) are Grand! If any of you are Disney Fans, you know how jazzed we are.

Knox... There has also been alot of kitchen activity going on lately. I'd ask for some of the goodies but I can't ruin the Figure I just got on vacation. icon_lol.gif I hope your enjoying your vacation too and I'm happy to hear all is as well as it can be.

Moni...I hope your Church function had lots of good eats. I've never tried Corn Chowder but if you say it's good I believe you.

JuJu... you did good with that filet mignon gettting more than one meal out it. Thats the way my DH likes to stretch meals, make the good ones last.

Dodi...Sorry I did not catch your post till now. Boy do you have a bundle of energy. Bottle it now! You may need it someday. I LOVE two yr old little noodles. My DGS is now 1 1/2 and I watch him and a soon to be 2 yr old (SUN) little girl everyday. I am having so much fun with them as they are coming into the 2yr old stage. I love seeing how they are learning their place in the world and how it is all about them for this momment. Keep enjoying your little guy and give him a sweet little squeeze for me.

I guess I'll be seeing the others when they need to sit down for a while and enjoy the dinner conversation. Till then, everyone keep warm and safe.
