Ok Saturday we had a weinie roast again.
Sunday was chips and dip.

We've all got a cold (I guess) and are all stopped up. So glad it was easy food.

Well, WOW what a day! icon_cry.gif

DS decided to "nut up" on us today, and he ended up getting kicked out. For the final time. If he ends up living at the mission, so be it.

After that, I cleaned the house from top to bottom. It's one of the ways I "deal." My kitchen is neat as a pin. Which kind of bites, because I've got two cakes this weekend.

Just got off afternoons, and we had:

Hamburger steaks with minced garlic and grilled onions
Twice baked potatoes
Corn
Pepsi w/ lemon slices

(I need to fix the Old Man a dessert--it's been a while! icon_redface.gif )

dh cooked again tonight....
grilled mahi mahi
seasoned mixed squash
steamed rice
diet coke

kay - well at least your son will help if he wants something. my brother doesn't even do that! icon_cool.gif and then he gets mad when you say no to his requests!!! icon_mad.gif i'm hoping i can train my son to do his chores when he gets older without my constant reminders. icon_rolleyes.gif

monica - today was much better. i've been pretty good except for a cough but i will take that over naseau anytime!! i think my dh did all that because he feared that he was going to get sick next! icon_rolleyes.gif oh and - thank you. icon_redface.gif

juju - hope your family feels better soon! we all are just getting over whatever it was. it seemed to linger for quite some time there. i think my husband said something about this flu season being called the terminator because of its intensity!!! icon_surprised.gif

knox - hang in there!!! i know it can be tough. my brother is always giving us trouble too. this last time he chose to run away and keep running. even after we tried to bring him back home. its really heart wrenching to have to dish out extra tough love, especially to those you love the most. but at least you have a sparkling home thumbs_up.gif and not a tummy full of chocolate and ice cream (which is how i deal with things). speaking of - send some of that dessert you fix up to me here in ca!! sounds yummy....whatever it may be! icon_biggrin.gif

I actually found a cake with a frosting my DH will eat icon_eek.gifthumbs_up.gif I think he had 1/2 the cake and DS had the rest. At least I know the cake was good icon_lol.gif

knox sorry to here DS is still causing you pain. icon_mad.gificon_cry.gif I clean to but I don't get spotless. Cause I also stop to eat while I clean. Good luck on the upcoming cakes.

KAY: I only get "spotless" (or somewhere in a "nice" version of "tidy") like once a year! With working full time, and no one else to really help, my house usually looks like trash lives here!! icon_redface.gif

Tonight:

Mini meat loaves
Tater tots
Salad with ranchalian dressing

We had corn dogs and mac and cheese. DH cooked because I had a headache. It finally went away though.

Monica--my family like making up the mix and frying on top of the stove for corncakes...yummy smeared with tons of butter. DH prefers the Shawnee Mills brand. He says they are sweeter.

Looks like tomorrow night is Deer. My brother got one a couple of weekends ago. Much better when fresh than in the freezer for a long time. His wife names his deer every year...lol. This year we have packages of FRED in the freezer.

Monica - the hardest part of making your cookies is beating the butter??? What about your KA! It is hard to cook for 1 - dh was away for 2-1/2 weeks and I did lots of Halloween cakes - there were days I ate nothing but McD's and buttercream. Don't know yet what's for dinner tonight.

Knox - thoughts and prayers are with you. I know first hand how hard some kids can be and you never stop worring about them/being their parent.

Hope all the sickies are feeling better - think I am coming down with a cold.

Joanmary-Yes the hardest part of the cookies was miking the butter for 20 minutes. I was worried about my KA icon_redface.gif I have never ran it that long. I was really worried. She did just fine though. Shes a trooper thumbs_up.gif

Thanks for the kind comments on my cakes too, Joanmary!! You are so sweet!

I think I am going to end up having leftovers for din-din tonight. The soup from last night.

Joanmary. Its hard cooking for one. Mom & I love together so mostly I cook, but she cooked that soup last night. There are dishes that are hers & dishes that are mine. So she cooked last night. We always have a deal. If I cook she cleans up. If she cooks I clean up. I would rather cook & she would rather clean. It works out perfectly!! I even serve her food to her. No I do not feed her icon_lol.gif

Ok Boss lady knox must be busy with cakes or kid. Hope you are doing fine.

Juju there is hope for me getting a deer. My friend who was going to give me some deer. Saw something weird happen a deer suicide. He was out hunting saw some deer and stop to get riffle. And the dang deer jumped the fence and didn't clear it and fell on his head and broke his neck. He was deammed roadkill. They are butchering him right now. So there is hope for some deer steaks and jerky yet. I'll let you know what he names it. I'm thinking Dumb A$$.

dodi a good cow steak sounds good to. But I would have to cook it Dh burns everything icon_cry.gif Or burns himself up when lighting the grill ( He don't touch the grill anymore)

Ohara yum mexican

I did fast mexican tonight. 2 Taco bravos fromTaco Johns. DD had dance class and DH was sleeping. DD wanted leftover meatloaf again she loves my meatloaf. I made DH some grilled cheese before he went to work.

*Makes sounds like Beavis & Butthead in a daze on their couch*

"Ohh....Ugh! Ahhh....Hey! Whoa...mrmrreehhaaaa..." ouch.gifouch.gifdunce.gif

Well, dang. It's been one HE!! of a week, y'all. I don't remember the last night I was at the table, but it's been a few. icon_redface.gif

Haven't heard from the oldest son. It could be a while.

I took 4 orders for Friday and Saturday. Even though I started baking and freezing early, it really didn't do a whole lot for me. I've not got a lot of space in my kitchen, and that makes things harder. Maybe one day I'll look back and say, "Remember when I used to work in that tiny lil' kitchen, do my own dishes by hand and go to WORK, too?!" icon_rolleyes.gif

I finished the "girly girl" cake on Thursday evening. It was really gorgeous. My first experience with fondant, too. I love it! That next day I had an order for a "seven layer" cake. GAHHH!!! tapedshut.gif What a pain that was...the damned layers kept wanting to MOVE.

I did up 100 cake balls Friday night, and then all day today I spent on an "Over the hill" cake for my BF's surprise party. And cleaning up the house...again. thumbsdown.gif

They're all in the gallery.

KAY: LOL!!! Love the dumb-a$$ deer story! Loves me some deer meat, too...

JUJU: Was your animal FRED a cow or a deer? Confusion sets in.... dunce.gif

MXPARK: I went out for "Fish Friday" with the guys at work...YUM!! Love fish dinners!

DODI: Did y'all kill a beef? I want some fresh steak delivered overnight to TN---get on it, girl!!

OHARA: Glad to hear from you, girl!! I can relate on the kids...GAHHH! Mine's a liar, too. thumbsdown.gif

MONICA: Post your recipe for those cookies. They sound fab!

JOANMARY: Thanks for the kind thoughts on the kid. We'll see.

DODI: Girl, I bet your house is sparklin' clean. If you clean when you're upset like I do--it's GOTTA be! lol

WISHING ALL THE SICKOS (jokes--I have jokes!) TO BE BETTER! Dang, Y'all--it's almost the holidays again. You gotta be troopers, ya hear??

Tonight was hot wings/fries for the little son and I. DH had KFC at his job working security. (He does that two nights a month when he's not on duty at the dep't.)
