I love this one because it happened to a woman I know (kind of similar). She went into a jewelry store after working out so she had sweats on and no makeup and no jewelry. She is a huge jewelry buff with a rich husband so she was looking and wanted to see this big diamond ring to try on. They must have thought she was going to run off with it or something because they wouldnt get it out of the case for her. She was livid. So she told them to get the manager, the manager came out and she asked him how much the ring was. He told her (dont remember the amount but it was several thousand dollars) and she took the cash out of her purse and laid it out on the counter for them to see and when they tried to get it out for her she told them to kiss off. She packed up all her cash and stormed out. She just wanted them to know they lost a good sale. She was a very lively woman to say the least. Good night all...

I have encountered this type of behavior while shopping. If I am on vacation I dont think that I should have to dress like an heiress just for a sales rep to be nice to me! Drives me crazy.

Okay, I'm wierd, I've had yellow fondant in the fridge since the beer cake...I've had the strangest time thinking it was butter every time I look...I have to double take. So now I'm molding it into the shape of a stick of butter.
I don't know why, but this is freakin' hilarious. Just catching up way back - then I've got to clean to get ready to leave tomorrow. Hello - all caught up - finished dinner (kids had hamburgers and I had a turkey burger) - leaving mess in oven for SDH. Called him up and said that the oven caught on fire and he had to clean up....he said his boss would never let him leave even if the whole house was on fire...WTH??!!!

Proposal story...knew it was coming, we had talked about it extensively and decided it was a step we were ready to take, this was important in our relationship cause we got pregnant after being together only 5 months. We moved in together after 6 because my mom was leaving the state. We were only together a year and a month and had a baby--didn't leave much time for "getting to know you." I told him first thing that I would not be marrying him just because I got knocked up. He agreed it was a good thing. Parent were P.O.'d. Well, his were. Mine were not happy. DH was trying real hard to come up with something ingenius. I knew he had picked up the ring, but I didn't know the final look of it or the cost. He hid it somewhere in the house and had several other things hidden to throw me off. He seperated the ring box from the cardboard box and left a note inside it that said "You don't think I'd make it that easy, do you?" He had the bag it came in somewhere else with a similar note. I never found any of it, wasn't looking. My birthday was coming up so I figured it'd be happening then, my parents were in town and we all went out to dinner at Buca di Beppo. My grandparents, his grandmother, our parents, best friends, brothers, sisters all at the special "Pope's Table." Nothing happened. Nothing all evening. We went to bed, and still nothing. I rolled over to go to sleep and he cuddled up behind me...he hid it in his boxers. He helped me stand up on the bed and got down on one knee.

Dh and I were sitting on the couch in my apt. I said I needed to pick up my room. He said cool-Ill help.... next thing I know I am in there by myself. I am looking everywhere for him and getting kind of ticked. Finally I see him coming back to the apt. from his car. He sits on the couch...im thinking what the heck so I just kind of tackled him and we start talking about the next night- we were going to go see Phantom in L.A. so he says something along the lines of "I have something I want you to wear tomorrow night..." I m thinking ummm okay. Then he pulls out a ring box and the rest is kind of a blur but somehow I must have said yes! He told me the next night that he had been planning on doing it at the nice dinner but he couldn't wait!

DH and I had been talking about it and we even picked out rings together. Then my parents were in town for dinner and he said... I have to go to Little Rock (next bigger town to us where we got our rings) to get "something" and didnt want me to go with. I thought "YES" this is it and I get my ring
He asked my dad after dinner for his permission and I was in the room. My dad said "I guess you can have her"
Dad is very funny in a dry you have to know him kind of way. Still no ring..... Drive home and we sit down to talk. Im thinking....still no ring.... did they lose it? Was he being so obvious to throw me off? Then he turns the cd player on to a song he already picked out and asked me to dance in the kitchen. When the song was over he got on one knee and asked me if I would do him the honor of being his wife tear....I didnt know he had it in him! THought that was very sweet and I got my ring before Thanksgiving so I could show it off to all the family when he went with me and I went with him. Cant wait to hear everyone elses story.

Mine is quite romantic! We were laying in bed (yes, I was a sleaze who lived with the guy for 2 years) - he threw the ring at me...he said "here, you happy??"
He was mad because I gave him an ultimatum....marriage or move out.
LOL Cathy! I can top your sleaziness Danny and I lived together for 5 years before we were even engaged (had been dating for 7 when we got married I think). This year will be 15 years since our first date! I have a sad proposal so I'm not going to tell it. 
Thanks for the heads up Bree!!! We were out in PHX last June and July too!!! It was hot, but not humid like it is here. That makes it better. In MHO Yeah MIL said it was 113 the other day too. My poor FIL works out in that stuff!!!! Don't know how he's done it all of these years! He likes it though!
