I think we sometimes get so busy in life that we just don't pay attention to our own bodies.
I am proud of myself because I realized that I needed to do something for myself instead of ignoring myself.
m0use, I love to dance. We did that while my sister was here, it is such a great way to excersize. how did the accupuncture go last night, do you feel any changes yet?
Meigan, Great job on the loss, just be sure you are not taking too much off too fast!
Texas, You always have such inspirational posts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have not lost enough to go thru the closet and remove things yet, but I will. I too have always been heavy, but I was a yo yo with my weight. I would loose, then gain then loose then gain, and not just 5 or 10 pounds. I am talking about 50 or more pounds. Not healthy for my heart I know, but the weight that I would get down to is just tooo hard to maintain. This time I want a healthy weight, not a skinny weight.
I have to say that a little over a year ago I was not ready.......I said I was but if you look at my progress (or lack there of) we can all see that I have not been ready until my diagnosis. Now I am ready and have made the changes in my thinking, food choices and excersize.
I am proud of myself because I have finally taken control of my health.
I am proud of myself because I have lost 8 pounds or so.
I am proud of myself because I now have started to cook for diabetes which is a healthful way of eating.
I am proud that I get up most mornings and work out. No longer do I shut the alarm off and roll over.
I am proud that I drink mostly water at work instead of a few cans of soda.
I am proud that I can climb the stairs at work and not get winded, and it is only 1 flight.
I am proud, as we all should be, that we have created such a supportive, uplifting, informative and motaviting thread that we can come to and share our successes and stumbles!!!
Michelle
Okay guys, I'm going to jump in here with ya. To make a long story short, I lost 65 pounds, found out a year later I was pregnant. Had my DD and lost off 30 pounds after that. Had several health problems lately and put all the weight back on and then some.
Started back on my diet and exercise. I've lost 13 pounds in 5 weeks. I still have so far to go...but I'm determine to lose all the weight again!!
Thanks for listening and sharing all your stories! Keep up the great work!!!!!
~Denise
TexasSugar... that was excellent!!!!!!!! I have to go back to my bus but I will try & post on that later! I've been feeling like I'm in a rut for the last 3 wks. I think your post might actually get me out of it!!!! Thank you!!!!!! Congrads too!!
Texas - Very inspirational and motivational. And, a good kick in the pants, in a positive way. I'm going to have to work on my "proud list" as it's still too easy for me to make a list of all the ways I'm screwing up but I will work on it.
I'm down six pounds, which is something to be happy about. Still have a ways to go but it's been a while since the numbers on my scale went down.
I'm so very inspired by all of you and your determination and successes. What an amazingly supportive group. Hopefully I can someday motivate someone the way you guys are all firing me up right now.
Denise,
Good luck on your journey! You're off to a great start. I hope your health issues are resolved and that you can truly focus all of your energies on good health!
Carol
Hi everyone.
OK, I need a GREAT BIG BUTT KICKING right now. I have lost most of my motivation. It is sooooooo easy to fall off the track. I took two weeks off while my sister was here and have not yet gotten back in track almost a week later. Please everyone help me get back there.
My eating still has not returned to the way it should be, and I worked out only TWO days this week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I know all of the I am worth it, and I will feel better and all of that......what I need is someone to fly to AZ and kick my big behind!!!! Any takers?????????????
Ohhhh I thought I'd bump this back up! It's gotten to the 2nd page of Lounge! Sorry I haven't been checking in this week. I've had a very stressful week. I am down to 150 so that is something good. The stress in my life has calmed down some so hopefully I can check in this week! Keep up the good work everyone!!!
I'm coming too Michelle!! Me & m0use will be a tag team!!
You'll get back to working out again just give it some time & don't be so hard on yourself!!
Welcome Denise! Congrads on your weight loss.
Carol, Congrads!! 6 lbs is excellent!!!
Well, I too have lost massive amounts of weight, about 80#'s, got pregnant and gained it all back plus some. Well the thing is that the "baby" is now almost 3 and I'm turning 30 this year and I'm fed up with this weight thing. I am on the right track now, and definitely motivated. I am losing it this time under doctor's watch, so I feel I am taking the right approach. Good luck and chin up to everyone!
Great job Casandra , any information from your Dr. that you could pass on to the rest of us would be great.
I did get up and get on the treadmill this morning, however just enough to get some movement in.....I slept about 2 hours last night, so was dragging my big tired but along that treadmill.
Thanks m0use and Tina for the threat of the butt kicking!!!!!
Tina, wonderful on making it to 150!!!!!!! Was that your goal, I cant remember now since your ticker has changed.
Yep, 150 was my goal!!!! I'm changing it again to 145. I'm "supposed" to weigh 139 but I don't want to get that small. So I like the sound of 145... I know.. I'm crazy! I have maintained since Nov so it was nice to see 2 lbs come off in 2 wks. I've been more active & back to drinking my water so I'm know that helped.
I walked this morning!! DS told me last night that he'd walk with me since he's off for the next couple of days. He followed through & was up & ready for me when I got home from my bus route. We walked for 30 min & then my ankle started hurting so we came home! It's an old injury, I hope it isn't coming back! Anyway that's what I needed! Someone to get me going!!
Ohhh I have to share something... One of my old friends has lost a lot of weight. She's down to a 6. Sooo she gave me all her size 10 jeans!! It's funny how my mind still thinks I'm 103 lbs heavier. I held the jeans up & said NOPE they won't fit. My DH said oh yeah they will TRY them on! I tried them on & every one fit & I actually have extra room in them!! Size 8 isn't too far around the corner! The feeling is fantastic!!! I never ever had this many clothes in my closet when I was heavier. It's a good feeling!! Just wanted to share~
OH Tina, How great for you, I am sooooo happy for you.
I know how it feels when something you think wont fit, actually does. Great job
Tina,
That is awesome! What a great wake up call for you, too, to really tell yourself that you've made it! You're an inspiration!
Carol
That's exactly how I see it Carol~ Thanks for relating to me! I'm still worried I will gain it back... that's always in the back of my mind. Hopefully that will always keep me from gaining any! I feel too good to ever be overweight again! ![]()
I must have been scared of Tina and m0use!!!!
Second day up and worked out. did almost the whole 30 minuts of my DVD. I have such bad knees that I can barely do the whole thing when I was doing it everyday, that I am so happy with how much I could do getting back into it.
I made fish last night (hate fish) But I must say it was sooooooo good. I got the recipe from the diabetic web site. It was very good, but I had to improvise. I thought I had taragon, so instead I used lemon pepper. Boy I was pleasantly suprised!!!
Karate,
Good for you! Doesn't it feel good to get over the "hump"? So what kind of fish did you make? I hate, hate, hate fish, too, but feel like I should be eating it occasionally (as I always forget to take any Omega 3 pills) so I'm curious what you had that tasted so good.
Carol
Well, I haven't been on here in awhile...I had our WI ICES DOS on the 18th and I've been training someone at work so I haven't had much time to get on here.
So I'm on here mainly for this post b4 I gotta go right away...on my weigh date I was 151.6 lbs, but after some physical activity Saturday (cleaning house and running errands) and a little nookie nookie action I lost 2 pounds and weighed back down to 149.6 Sunday morning ![]()

My accupuncture appt went good last week, and this week I had no pain in my knees and ankles at night. My breathing has been better and I've only been super tired because I've been up late or had a bad night's sleep. I had another appt last night that went good too. So I get to see my accupuncturist in 2 weeks.
I'm so happy, it's been great being able to go to bed and not be soo achy.
Walked around the mall last night in heels for about an hour, so that's my exercise for last night.
Gotta go- TTYL everyone!
m0use you crack me up!!! I think I have lost 2 lbs just by reading your post & laughing!!! ![]()

karate... GLAD IT WORKED!! I love fish!! DD likes albacore only, DS like fish & especially likes kipper snacks, but DH hates every fish but catfish & that has to be fried. We don't fry in our house! LOL~ I do buy fish in the can or bag (tuna) for me & the kids. I had salmon last week. YUM!! Lemon pepper just makes so many things taste better~ You are an inspiration to me with the exercising you do! You always get back to it no matter what! I'm proud of you!! I wish I could follow your lead better! I didn't walk today because I didn't get any sleep last night. I had a craving for coffee.. I very seldom drink coffee but I love it. DH was off last night so we made some around 6pm. I was up all night!! Never again!! So this morning I went back to bed after my am route. I learned a lesson for sure~
Carol, I do always feel better when I work out! The fish was Cod, put canned mushrooms, carrots, lemon juice and lemon pepper, put all of that in a tin foil "pouch" and baked for 40 minutes, my fish was frozen. I made steamed green beans and some white rice. It was sooooo good.
m0use, great job on the working out. Glad to hear you are feeling better, that nookie will do wonders!
Tina, that'll learn ya to drink coffee at night!!!!!!!!!!!! I wish I liked fish better, I just dont like the fishey taste...I know I know its fish how is it supposed to taste!!! Since I really liked the way this tasted I will make it again for sure, perhaps try fresh shrooms. I only had canned which is why I used them. You know Tina, I use you for my inspiration, how far you have come!!! Keep it up girl!
Michelle
Good morning everyone
I used today as my rest day, not on purpose though I turned my alarm off and the next thing I know, DBFs alarm is going off......GGGEEEZZZ I didnt want to take today off. I have dinner at my dads tonight so will not be able to work out when I get home either. Oh well, just means that I HAVE to get up on Friday.
I did very bad for breakfast too, had one of those lean pocket breadfast things. there are 4 very small ones in each box, I ate two ![]()

Oh well, for lunch I have a salad!!!!!!!
how is everyone else doing?
Well, I did some more walking again yesterday.
Also got a work out yesterday at work, we had the fire alarms go off, and we have a small hike out to our meeting place.
Gotta go!
I have to say that drinking your 8 glasses of water a day really seems to work. I've been filling a container each morning with 64 oz. and I leave it on the counter so I see it every time I pass through the kitchen. I used to think I could never drink that much water in a day but I have big tumbler cups and I find that by mid afternoon, I've finished off all of my water just refilling my cup a few times. I also find that I'm super "full" with the water and haven't wanted to snack as much. And at dinner time, I fill up pretty quick. I have no idea if this is a temporary thing and if my body will get used to it and I'll feel less full but for now it really seems to help.
I'm also looking into doing a "boot camp" (or "booty camp") program next week. I saw an ad in one of the neighborhood papers. They have four week sessions and you go five days a week for those four weeks from 5:15 a.m. to 6:15 a.m. It's an ungodly hour but then it interferes with nothing and they hold it at a park not too far from my house. They incorporate hiking, pilates, weights, calisthenics, etc . . . and it's supposed to be a big old kick in the pants to get you on the road to getting into shape. My only drawback is that my hubby travels so I'm looking into the 3 day a week option instead of the 5 day because I know there will be a morning or two each week that he won't be home so that I can go. I emailed the program today to find out if I can do three random days each week so that I can come based on his travel schedule. And, since the three day a week program is cheaper, I may just do it twice (for a total of 8 weeks) to make up for not doing it for five days a week solid. And, I can always work out at home on the days I don't do it. I really love the idea because it's a group atmosphere, everyone is encouraged to go at their own pace but to challenge themselves, it's not far from home and it sounds like an awesome motivator. Not only do they cover the fitness training but it also covers nutritional counseling and motivational training. I'm very excited and glad that it starts next week so I can jump right in. I'm crossing my fingers that they let me sign up for random three days a week instead of set days each week.
Wow Carol that sounds great. I would almost be interested in that myself.
I got up and worked out this morning, yea me.
I go today to get the settlement money from my accident and will probably go the dealership this afternoon. Geeezzz not looking forward to payments again though!
have a good day everyone.
Well, I have done walking for the past 2 days and last night I made myself do a bunch of stomach exercises.
Crunches 40 reps
Tummy Squeezes 40 reps
Combo Hinge Crunch 40 reps
Bicycle Crunches 40 reps
I also didn't eat my normal snacks yesterday, instead I only nibbled on some pretzels when I started to feel a little hungry and made sure to drink lots of water. I think that will help me maintain my weight better. This morning I weighed myself just to see where I was and I was still 149.6 lbs, so I was happy!
Carol, that bootie camp sounds like what I need!! I like working out with other people. It's so boring doing it alone. Tell us how it goes! I can't wait to hear all about it!
I've been fighting allergies & migraines all week!! The pollen is on everything here! When I look outside all I see is yellow! I love spring but boy this is crazy! My head feels like it's going to blow up! I'm not sick I have the sinius headache that keeps coming & going. Is that pollen very bad where everyone else is? I walked twice this week & sneezed the whole time!
Hope all is well for everyone!
I will let you know. I registered online today and it starts Monday. Like I said, I'm signed up for 3 days a week instead of 5 due to my hubby's travel schedule but I'm very excited about it. I just hope I don't pass out from the intensity! That would be embarassing.
Tina: I am so glad that I do not have to worry about that. So sorry for you and any one else who has to. Good for you for walking anyway.
Carol: Good luck and make sure you report back on how it went.
I got up and worked out this morning. We had chinese for dinner last night after the disappointing time we spent at the dealership. We didn't get a new vehicle last night they were being jerks so we walked.
Everyone have a great day!
Michelle
