I stayed home from work today and took a 3 hour nap! I think the biggest thing my body needs is rest because I am starting to feel better now that I am back at home resting instead of being at work.

Awesome Melissa!!!! So happy for you!!! Keep up the great work!! thumbs_up.gifparty.gif

Ohhh Jane it's cold there!! Gosh, I feel for you! I really do icon_smile.gif

I'm still not getting emails everytime someone posts. I think I finally got an email after 3 pages have been filled. Weird.

I'm doing really good with my eating. Still haven't gotten to the gym. A fellow bus driver has asked me to start walking with her in the mornings starting Monday so I'm gonna see how that goes. Ya'll know my problem is wanting someone to work out with. That's my biggest excuse not to workout. No others. So hopefully this will get me back into things. Maybe this friend will be better help for me & vice-versa. She's had gastric bypass nearly 5 years ago & has done awesome! She just wants to get back into exercising to feel better. ME TOO!

Well I'm off to my Wilton's Fondant/Gumpaste class. Not really enjoying it either. I already know just about everything from my CC buddies!! We are learning 2 flowers tonight that I don't know so hopefully I'll enjoy it more. How's your class going Michelle. Email me icon_smile.gif

Ya'll have a wonderful Friday night~ PS>>> I'm getting my icecream treat tonight! Been looking forward to it too! MY BAD!!!! tapedshut.gificon_wink.gif Heck, I'm not dead! I gotta treat myself from time to time right? I've done soooo good for 2 wks so it's time to treat myself thumbs_up.gificon_lol.gificon_biggrin.gif

Hello all
so I have not been feeling very well this week. But I still managed to make my own salad dressing and cut up all of my veggies. I didn't make it to my weigh in this week, but I will on Tuesday. I still managed to eat relatively healthy. I ate salad instead of french fries and just made small changes. I only had 2 regular cokes this week. I love soda, I try to drink the diet, but I can taste the artificial stuff in it. But my intake of soda is down considerably, that in itself is a big victory for me. I used to drink 4- 20 oz. bottles at work, then on the way home I would buy the big 64oz. soda at 7-11. I have a big huge bottle of water here at my desk, to force myself to drink it. I found some green tea at Trader Joe's which I really liked so that is now my soda substitute. Now I'm off to plan my mini vacation for April. Well I have to get off CC first, which as you all know is very hard!

Good job neni on your changes! That is a big step to do, substituting water for soda, you will notice a big difference.
I'm not a diet soda fan myself, it gives me a stomach-ache.

thumbs_up.gif to Neni! Good work!!!

I bought some new clothes today for my trip to Toronto...it was so much fun and it is a motivator for dieting too! Mainly just new tops and a new pair of jeans!

I have to work on some cake stuff so I need to get off CC now..such an addict...at least I'm not eating whilst on CC!!! icon_biggrin.gif

Have a great evening and good Sunday!

I don't think I have been into this thing as much as I 'thought' I was...I never could really dedicate everything it takes to do it.

But, the middle of Jan. is when I decided I was gonna do it and thats it!! The weight is very slowly coming off, but it's not coming back!!!

I plan on seeing improvements from here on out.

You all are such great positive reinforcement, and my DH is truly wonderful. This year, we've 'rededicated' everything. We're so much better than we've ever been and we're trying so hard to be even better parents. Sometimes I feel just like I did when we first met--it's great to be in love & know that person loves you back!

Sorry if I'm venting a little here, but it's just on my mind...there are so many positive things in the world and I'd kept looking the other way at them.

It's amazing what one can do when they make their mind up!!!

That's so good to hear mmdd!
I started feeling better by Saturday, so I did a little housework, but with lots of breaks in between. I worked on my kitchen yesterday, with breaks in between. My poor hubby shoveled our driveway and helped his father shovel his driveway all by himself this weekend because I wasn't about to go out in the cold and shovel that heavy wet snow that we got over the weekend.
I lost another pound, I was down to 151 over the weekend. icon_biggrin.gif
Isn't it great when your hubby works on things with you together to make things better? Sunday my hubby gave me a nice body massage after a nice hot shower together, it was so relaxing. (Son was over at the in-laws.)

Hi Everyone..I am here in Toronto..go home tomorrow from being at Bonnie Gordon cake school icon_cry.gif
It has been SOOO much fun and I just wish I could have tea with you guys and tell you about it! She is superb and it has been an unbelieveable experience for a newbie like me.
Now for the diet news.....
The really good news is that I have walked to her school Tuesday and Wednesday and it is a 40 minute walk one way...I carried a cake tote all they way too!

Secondly, on the diet front...I have hardly had time to eat! I bought some chicken with tomatoe sauce from a small deli but no bread or pasta...I have eaten fruit and 0 fat yogurt for breakfast at the hotel..in the continental breakfast, lots of diet friendly choices which has been great!

So, whilst I don't have a scale here, it is highly probably that I would have lost...
At school we baked AND ate a sample of cake/cupcake/icing but I just had a little piece...it was SO delish but I didn't want to seem like a piggy so didn't eat much...I do, however, have a homemade lemon cake with smbc icing and fresh fruit on the top in my little hotel fridge...I might give it to the ladies that clean my room, then I won't have to transport it home or even better than eating it..the only thing is I want my DH to see it!

At home, I live in the burbs so we usually drive to places as things are so far away, but here in the hotel, it is all walk, walk, walk...which is great...actually my legs are a bit stiff like I have actually exercised them..I loved looking in the shop windows.

I gotta get going..Antonia74 told me where the best ribbon shop in TO (Toronto) is and I want to go this morning before my classes...

Glad you are feeling better Mouse and hope Karate is feeling better too.
Great work TC..you are amazing with your wt loss journey!!
Everyone else..hi..hope your day is wonderful and you have a good "diet" day or sensible eating/water drinking one!

Gotta dash...I am so lookiing forward to going to my lessons today..I have my camera but didn't bring the download cable or I can't find it!! icon_cry.gif

Bye everyone
Jane

Ohhh Jane I wish I were there with you!!! Sounds like you are having an amazing time!!! Enjoy every minute of it!! I bet you have lost with all that walking! YEAH!!!

m0use, CONGRADS on your success!! I think for my height 5'5" I'm supposed to weigh 137 but I'm in a normal BMI range so I'm happy about that! icon_smile.gif

If ICES doesn't hurry up & open registration I am going to eat everything in my pantry!!!! I want to register & then go take a nap! I got up at 4:30 am just in case they started early. I'm so excited I can't hardly sit still!

Well, I went back to the doctor yesterday becuase I was still feeling icky, he checked my throat and there were white spots on it and my neck was slightly swollen, so he put me on Zithromax. My poor stomach yesterday did not like being on another course of antibiotics, once I ate a BIG heaping spoonful of plain yogurt my stomach settled down. So I need to make sure that I eat some yogurt with live cultures in it everyday so that my tummy does ok. (Which people should do anyways so that the antibiotics don't kill the good bacteria in your tummy)
Well, last night I did 60 crunches and 60 tummy squeezes, that felt good to do.
I'm also adjusting my eating habits again at work since I eat so often during the day I'm cutting back my portion sizes just a little, and keeping a box of triscuits in my desk in case I get hungry. I just snack on 2 of those and that usually keeps me going until my next meal.
JaneK- I'm so glad to hear that your class is going well. All the walking will definetly help you out.
Almost forgot, since I was seeing my family doctor I told him about my internal specialist and he was kinda supportive, kinda of not- it was more like "treating chronic mono can be difficult some things work for some people and some things don't..." icon_confused.gif My family doctor also thinks that when I started my core rhythms that brought up my body temp during work outs and that caused my epstein-barr virus to flair up again. icon_confused.gif He suggested that swimming is better to do because your in the water. Well, I belong to Bally's and the one in Brookfield has a pool, the trick is finding time to drive down there and swim.

I just found this thread, is a newcomer welcome to post? I haven't read through all 119 pages, but have read some of it. I'm a 31 year old stay at home Mom. I'm 5'6" tall and weigh 171 lbs. Man that was hard to type! Feels like I'm at a support group! Maybe in a way I am. I've been on Weight Watchers for a year and have had some success with it. I was 198 lbs a year ago. I want to be 145 lbs but have struck a brick wall! I can't seem to get to 169 now matter what I do! I have a digital scale and when I only have one ounce to go the scale jumps back up one or two pounds the next morning! This has happened to me so many times I have lost track. I've lost the same two to three pounds that I am just really getting tired of the whole thing. Starting to feel defeated. All I am able to do now is maintain my current weight. I know I could work harder at it but it's so hard! Anna

Thanks! I admit that I don't get to the gym like I should. I live in a very small town and sometimes when I go I am the only one there. It really creeps me out to be in a place of business by myself. I have a key so can go when ever I want. Being a stay at home Mom I can't just go anytime. My DH works all day and only one child is in school all day and can't take my daughter with me. Sounds like a big long list of excuses doesn't it?! The fact is that I am so tired by the time hubby gets home that I am just out of steam. I think also I am just not very motivated anymore. I have been at this for a solid year and am getting tired of the daily struggle. I get support from my DH and my parents and my in laws but my few friends just don't get it. So glad I have found freinds here at CC that know what I'm talking about! Anna

Maybe there are some work-out videos that you can do with your daughter during the day. That's a good way to teach healthy habits to your daughter and to also have some good 1-on-1 time.

By the way is there anything specific that you are doing to lose weight? Is anyone else doing weight watchers? My sister joined shortly after I did and reached her goal weight with in a few months. She has always been the "golden child" of our family so didn't have that much to lose to begin with. It's quite sickening actually. I am running out of ideas for new yummy things to eat. WW has helped me allot though. Before I had no idea how much I was supposed to eat, or what a normal sized portion was. I found it really easy when I first started. I think I just need to change some things around a bit, try some new things. Anna

Hi all
Anna welcome and we will all help and support you just as you will do for us!!!

I do feel better but had to go the doc and get some meds.

Since I have been on vacation with my sister and in Vegas my eating and workouts have been on the back burner. However it felt like we walked from California to the east coast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

While at the doc they weighed me and since my diagnosis of diabetes I have lost 10 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!

OK I gotta run, we are making dinner at my dads, I just missed you all so much and needed my dose of support! Will be back like normal by Monday.

Michelle

Tina, the second to last class was better as I learned three flowers that were new. I missed the last class and probably will not make it up since we were just going to make a cake and use what we learned to decorate it.

send me a message about how yours turned out.

Karate, I'm so sorry to see that you have been diagnosed with Diabetes! I sincerely hope that your meds help you feel better! How are you doing since you have been diagnosed? Who is Tina? Lots of questions, sorry! I have a cake order to get done this morning that is ready to frost so gotta run. It's an 11x15 sheet cake with Lightning McQueen for a three year old! Should be a fun one. Welcome Anna!! That is my sister's name icon_smile.gif

I do Weight Watchers Core Plan..I love it!!

I am writing this on the train coming back from going to cake school (Bonnie Gordon's) in TO...HIGHLY recommended just as an aside!

At school, the teachers were thin as rails but after watching them work and lug and lift mixing bowls, cakes, squatting up and down it is like an all day workout. I had to stay an extra day due to freight train derailment so I spent the last day at their school and I would be thin as a rail if I did what they do all day...the other thing is that they would snack on fresh fruit but also indulge in a cupcake now and then! It must be the exercise..I was DEAD tired after my days...and I wasn't doing even half of what they did.

So I also walked the 40 minutes daily up to her school and enjoyed it immensely...after the huge storm on Thursday, Friday's walk was challenging...huge pools of water on the sidewalk and banks of slushy snow...heck..I can take it..I am a Canadian used to horrid weather.. icon_lol.gif

I think it will be easier to "walk" for exercise once I get home as I really enjoyed that aspect of my trip...I walked briskly too as I wanted to get to school on time!

Have a great day everyone...super losses...I can't wait to weigh myself..I am positive I have lost...I ate Subway salads for lunch and supper and only indulged in the buttercake ...I just couldn't pass that up but felt very good I gave the rest away!

Bye now!
Jane

Hello Jane! I am glad to find someone else who is doing WW to! I'm on the flex points plan though. Although I can't say truthfully that I have actually been following it like I should. At least not for the past few weeks. Today I am getting back on track. Writing everything down again that I put in my mouth. After stepping on the scale this morning I was shocked and saddened by what I saw. Time to get serious again. I have a membership to the gym so am going to get back in there. Also going to start doing excersize videos with my dd at home during the day. I've been at this for so long, just over a year. I have been getting a bad attitude because I wasn't seeing the results anymore. I think the smaller you get, the harder it is to lose weight. I'm just going to have to try harder, take it one day at a time, one pound at a time! Hope you see good results on your scale when you get home! Sounds like you have earned it! Way to use self control and will power! Anna

Don't despair if you don't do well for a week or two..just try and get right back on it!! Anyone who frequents this wt loss thread will tell you we all have our ups and downs!!! I am inspired by all those girls who regularly exercise..I despise exercising but it is a must so I think incorporating it anyway you can is great!!...just start in little bits and do something you like otherwise it will be too overwhelming to keep up..

My battery on my pc is low so I might be cutoff so just want to finish by saying..welcome and the member's here have certainly been motivators for me and just really great..I think you will enjoy it..we seem to get to know each other better here!!

Cheers,
Jane

Thanks Jane, I appreciate your advice. How long have you been doing WW? Have you had much success with the core plan? Maybe I should switch over. I have heard that some people switch back and forth with good results. I've been on the flex plan for a year.
That is so neat that you went to cake school! I don't think there is any such thing around here. I'm in Iowa. There are cake decorating classes at Hobby Lobby but have never gone. I think it would be so much fun to get on a train and go to cake school! I've looked at your pics and your cakes are amazing! Put several of them in my favs! Hope you have a safe journey back home!
