Well, I did about 100 tummy squeezes last night while I was sitting down watching TV.
So I'm going to write aerobic exercise and light weight lifting in my exercise log. Computer books are HEAVY so I think moving them babies around counts as weight-lifting. Today I have to finish putting away the rest of the books, except for the computer books, that's hubby's job. ![]()
Stay warm everyone! ![]()
CAN I JOIN???? CAN I JOIN????? I am not sure what the requirements are to join.....I am younger than most on here!
I'll be 16 in September. I have enjoyed seeing how determined all of you ladies are in what you set out to do. I really would like to lose some weight, but I'm not sure where to lose to. Here are my measurements and my weight:
Height: 5 3
Weight: 130
Waist: 28.5 inches
Hips:36.5 inches
Bust:34 inches
Could any of you wiser women give me advice on where is good to lose to? I have a step machine that I am going to do three times a week.
What exactly is a tummy squeeze? My stomach is what I really would like to lose most. Any tips would be helpful!
In my last post I mentioned looking back at past pictures of me and the difference I saw.
Here is the difference 20-25lbs can make...

What a difference huh? ![]()
The last picture was shot at an obviously good angle that covered up the flabby tummy. HeHe.
Wow Texas!! Looking good!!!!
Congrats on the weigth loss!!!
WOW ![]()

Texas What a difference. You are looking great and I am so proud of you as you should be of your self. I was going to take pics this weekend, but was quite the busy one with the super bowl yesterday and all.
I got up and worked out this morning, pushed a little harder because I missed a few says last week due to the cold.
beargilr15. everyone is welcome to join. There isn't really a cut and dried answer to where you should loose. I guess it is where you want to work the most. However keep in mind, that as you loose even if you are focusing on one portion, the other areas will most likely get smaller also, just so you are not dissapointed that you loose a part that you like at this point. Like I know some people like their large busts, but when loosing weight this area can also get smaller.......that said just go for it and see where it takes you. The stairstepper is great for legs and buns, the lower body. If you want upper body work you will want to include some upper body weights as well. As far as the tummy area, I dont think the stepper will do much to tighten and tone that area, I could be wrong hate that machine and will not step on one! I would say crunches or read some of m0use's old posts, she describes a few ways to tighten the abs without doing crunches.
Happy Monday to all
Michelle
Wow, Texas! Keep up the good work!!!
I still can't get past these 4 lbs. I lost almost a month ago.
I haven't gained any back, but I can't lose anymore than 4. UGH!
Did you try a new exercise yet mmdd?
If you are doing the same exerise your body may be stuck in a rut.
Alright moviechick!
Saw the internal medicine specialist today, she is going to do a full panel bloodwork including testing my thyroid. She is wondering if maybe my body never got rid of the mono that I had a few years ago so I have something called chronic mono (or something like that). If that would be the case then she said usually chineese medicines help clear that up. They took like 6 or 7 test vials of blood out of me, I haven't had that done in forever. She was so nice to talk to and was straightforward and didn't blow off what my mom told me as to why she thought she ended up with fibromyalgia. Told her about the shakes and restlessness I get in my legs, and sometimes in my arms. Hubby says I get them mainly at night- I don't even realize it. So she had me start a taking some magnesium, so we'll see how that goes. She wants to meet back with me next week to discuss the test results and see what treatment course we need to do.
Dr Kumar is a really neat doctor and I loved her office. It was very relaxing to walk into. Even though the exam rooms were a littlle small they still felt comforting feeling, which I appreciated. Dr Kumar is really neat because she uses traditional medicines ie drugs but also uses alternative treatments, for example chinees herbs, acupuncture, homeopathy, etc. So far I'm really glad that I went to go see her. I'll keep you guys updated.
I didn't exercise at all last night, I was too tired and cold. I just sat and watched TV last night after my son had his ice skating lessons.
Hang in there m0use!! I hope all the tests will turn out negative & you'll be back to normal soon!!
Welcome beargirl... you be careful in losing weight & make sure you talk to your parents before you start ok. Make sure you let someone know your dieting. ![]()
I haven't been getting any notices when anyone posts!
I have been busy baking so I haven't had time to check this post. I'm going crazy trying to do my Mom's birthday cake. I've been sampling a little too much too... Somebody kick me please!! I still haven't been back to the gym to start my weight lifting program.
I'm feeling better so this week my excuse is I'm busy with my Mom's cake. I have got to stop making excuses & go work out! Ya'll help me get out of this rut!!
Here are my before & after pics... I haven't updated since Dec. I got my hair cut short a few weeks ago.. Need to get pics taken. ![]()

It helps me BIG time to look back at these pics. I need to take a pic of me wearing my old size 20 jeans. I would probably fall out from shock! ![]()
Texas is right! Take pics through the whole weight loss race you'll be sooo happy you did!!
Sorry if that sounds corney.. ![]()
oh my! TC you look great!!!!! Amazing transformation!!! Woohoo!!!! I'll have to ask my hubby to take a full picture of me. I think I have one at my highest weight, but I'm not sure. That's fun to follow the entire weight-loss in pictures!![]()
Good morning all
sorry I missed yesterday, had my two appts.
TC, you are such an inspiration to me I cant wait until I can see that much of a difference! I have not gotten any notices either. I think I will send a message to Jackie to see when that feature will be back up and running.
mmdd I agree with m0use, you should try a new excersize. I noticed I could walk on the treadmill till I'm blue in the face and saw nothing, since I changed and now do the tread and about 3 different videos I am loosing a bit. Course it helped that I also changed my eating habits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But changing up the routine will keep the body from getting in the rut.
Yea for MC, how many is that now?
m0use: glad you like your new Dr. It sure helps when you like the office and Dr. I will be thinking about you. I used to go to acupuncture, hate needles but he was great. I saw a dramatic drop in the number of colds and how bad they were. I used to get cold after cold and they used to last over 3 weeks. When I started the acpuncture I would get only 1 cold and it lasted at the most from beginnging sore throat to no cough,no runny nose, and feeling normal a total of 3 days. And those 3 days were not so bad either. I since then have stopped going and lost track of him (wont go to anyone else) and my colds are back to being almost one after the other and lasting a little more than one week. Do they think you might have restless leg syndrome? I have seen this on the TV lately.
Well, I went to the eye Dr yesterday as a check up for vision problems due to diabetes, my eyes are fine so far. I like her alot, she is also on my visoin insurance, so I think I have found my regular eye Dr also. I also went to my foot Dr yesterday for a foot check for problems due to diabetes, so far no problems. I also discussed my pain I have been having in the main part of the foot (metatarsal area) when I walk. There are no broken bones so he gave me a shot (geeeezzzz I hate those things) I have to wrap it up for a few days says the muscles have tightened up and pinched. I didn't work out this morning thought I would give the medicine a chance to get in there and work before I continue to abuse my feet with this huge load jumping on them!!!! Just kidding about the huge load.
OH by the way, I put on a pair of jeans, just to see how far I had to go to get back into them comfortably, THEY FIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEA ME
Ok just my small horn tooting!
Karate congrats on the weight-loss and the fitting jeans!!!! YAY!!!!!
doing the happy dance!!!!!
My official weight-in is on the 8th. I need to report to my sil, she's doing this with me. We live about 8 hours away from each other, so we report via email and the webcam.
I did some sit ups and some toning for my arms this morning.
I still need my cardio done, but that'll wait for this afternoon.
Thanks everyone for your concern, I will keep you guys updated as I find out what's going on.
I did good and exercised last night, 50 crunchers, 50 bicycle crunchers, and 50 tummy squeezes.
WoW TC I didn't recognize you in your first picture. I was thinking I had the wrong link or something was wrong. Wow!!!
Im down 7 pounds and at least one pant size.
Mouse I hope that you start feeling better soon and they figure out whats going on.
Welcome Welcome to the newbies.
Thanks friends! I hope the pics will help you guys like they help me. Take pics! I sometimes don't reconize myself when I look in the mirror. ![]()
Pootchi 10 lbs in one month YEPPIE!!!!! That's excellent!! Didn't you used to have a different pic up? If so... I notice a difference in you!
Michelle.. you are always an inspiration to me!!
My friend has lost 65 lbs & her diabetes is gone! Her eye sight has even improved. So I know you will be feeling better soon. Just keep up the work!!
MC... they say every 7-10 lbs you lose you lose a size! So awesome!!
m0use... I just looked at the date you joined CC... I just realized that we have know each other for nearly 2 years now! WOW!! Isn't that cool!
I guess we're olbies huh?? LOL ![]()
Well back to the cake... I have to finish by tomorrow because I start the new fondant class Wilton is offering on Friday night. I've read some negative stuff on CC about it... I hope I'm not wasting my time & MONEY. I probably know most of what it teaches from being on CC for so long
We'll see~
Ya'll have a fabulous evening!!
Happy Thursday everyone. When I got up to work out I thought it was Friday. I was sad half way thru my workout when I realized it was only Thursday.
Pootchi, thanks for the happy dance! Its good to be doing this with someone, even though they may be miles away, being accountable to someone else besides yourself is always better.
Tina Thanks for the encouragement. The thing is diabetes can never go away, once you have it you have it for life. It can be controlled by diet and nutrition and working out, but it never goes away. Good luck on your cake. I have not yet posted my super bowl cake, I need to do this.
Everyone have a great day
Michelle
Michelle,
When I said gone I guess I meant under control. When you have diabetes because of being overweight & eating the wrong foods I thought it goes away when you lose & stop eating the wrong foods. I guess it means under control like you said
My friend was gonna have to start taking shots. She started losing the weight & now she doesn't even have to take pills anymore. What a difference her life is now.
Yea!
We have had 2 marvelous warm days in LA!!! One day in the high 60's & yesterday in the 70's... then I woke up today it's back in the low 50's. Mother Nature had to pick on us!
I was going for a walk today. Not now cause it's raining & cold! I can't wait for spring!
Thanks TC! Yes I've changed my pic. I'll put a different one as often as I can to show how I'm "shrinking".
I've taken my measurements this morning (even though it's the time of the month...) and I lost some inches! I'll changed my signature and put the measurements too. Right now time isn't on my side.... ![]()
Keep up the fantastic work Pootchi!! You'll see more results in a few more weeks & you'll be thrilled!! ![]()
Hi everyone! Everyone sounds like they are taking proper care of themselves...I like to see that...So often as mothers and caretakers, we take care of ourselves last!
All the pics are so inspirational! I hope, I hope...I know, I know...I'll make it there someday (has to be before August 2008...my little sister's wedding!)
I have had a rough couple of weeks, but it has been so darn cold here (I think it got up to about 10 degrees today), that I am just shivering walking around my house....I wonder how many calories shivering burns?!?!? heheheheh
I've got 2 cakes for Sunday, and I have been experimenting with filling...so, tasting....yikes! I live in Buffalo, and that is the world headquarters for Rich Products....so, they have a cash -n- carry, and I have been experimenting with bettercreme! YUMMY!!!!! OMG...the things you can do with it! (now, no dirty minds, please!)
I really need to find something to do about evenings...I do so good all day, then blow it in the evening.
Take care everyone....
Good morning everyone.
Made it to the treadmill this morning, I wanted a bit of an easy workout today, so no video. Still had a good sweat going tho.
Pootchi, you are doing to great!
I truely believe that shivering must burn some calories! I however dont do much of that here.. We have had a cold winter, I remember that I dont like it!
Oh Tina: I went to the first class for the fondant and gumpaste last night. I would say that it will be a bit elementary the first night. I knew everything that they were talking about, but everyone else in that class had only gone thru the 1st wilton class, so it was all new. I still enjoyed the class and cant wait to learn the flowers.
Michelle,
Cool! Your taking the class too! I only took it because I'm bored on Friday nights & I figured that I had all the supplies I needed & wouldn't have to spend a lot of money on supplies for another class... NOPE! I didn't have a few things. Darnit! What did you use for the 1st class? My instructor is making it a 3 hr class because she will be out of town next week or something. What did you do? Thanks! I'm excited about tonight. I hope there are some people in the class that know more then just the 1st course. I can't sit that long & be bored~ Is that mean? Naw, I hope not~ ![]()
Sarah... you crack me up!!!! ![]()
My cakes are finished!! So I'm going to take a nap!! Ya'll go see them
I'm proud of them especially the teapot & cups. Even though I made a few boo-boo's I think they came out pretty darn good~
Have a great day! Monday morning it's back to the gym for me!!
Well, yesterday I did a lot of walking around with a co-worker to make sure some conference rooms were working ok for some important people. Which was great for exercise for me, except I wore some very high heels. My body was aching last night because of it, especially when I went to bed.
Good news- hubby says that since I have been taking the magnesium no more night shakes that wake him up.
Let's hope the trend continues!
Yesterday was not a healthy eating day for me, except during my morning break. But that's ok to me because I normally eat very good anyways lately so I'm not going to beat myself up over it.
Tommorow is weigh day for me...nephews are down visiting though...so we'll see if I remeber. ![]()
Tina, she showed the basic torte, fill and ice a cake, how to color fondant, roll it out, then we covered the cake board. That was all we did. I was able to give some pointers that I have found in the year that I have been playing with it, and of course gave CC information to everyone there even the instructor, so hopefully we will have a few new members. That was all, next week we have to bring a cake, iced and we will cover in fondant and make some decorations out of fondant and gumpaste to decorate it. The third week is what I am waiting for, that is when we learn the flowers. I will be in Las Vegas for the last class, because she had to move the date from Thursday to Monday. She said I could go to the last class in the March session and that would be fine. I think I may just do that so I dont miss the last techniques. Anyway dont be too discouraged if it is basic the first night, since it is not a prereq to have wilton 3 class first, most people will not know anything about fondant. I was even telling the instructor about the other fondants and some other things. She didn't know there were some that actually tasted good!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have to check out your cakes in a minute.
m0use, I know what you mean about walking at work. I am walking all the time, my co workers are always asking me what I do because I am always walking from one place to another in the plant. I just ask, how can it be that I am fat, I walk a milion miles a day!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great news on the night shakes, hopefully things are looking up.
Wow Tina, those cakes are awesome, I love both of them, that mouse is soooooo cute!
Good morning everyone.
I weighed in this morning I lost 2.6 pounds!!!!!!! I am so happy!
Congrads Michelle!!!!! GOOD FOR YOU!!!!! Don't you feel good!!!! Keep up the great work!!!!! (By the way... it's a kitten not a mouse silly~ LOL!!!
)
Hi everyone. My name is Nicky I've lost 49 lbs. Which put me back where I needed to be. I'm 5'4" and now weight 118. A year and a half ago I weighed 167 and gaining....I would have kept getting bigger and bigger if I had not made changes.
I'm not sure what all kinds of "diets (I prefer to call them lifestyle change myself) you all are on but I would like to share w/ you what I did to lose the weight and then to keep it off.
What I did was I went and bought a juicer from wal-mart (Juiceman Jr.) For 10 days I juiced all kinds of vegetables but mostly carrots. I didnt "eat" anything. Let me tell you it sounds harder than it is because the juice filled me up and I actually felt better than I had felt in a long time! I had all kinds of energy! I jumped on the trampoline w/ my kids, rode bikes w/ them etc. I was not depriving my body of anything in fact I was consuming more vitamins & minerals than I was when I was eating (I didn't eat the right foods) During those 10 days I would juice anytime I wanted....when I first started feeling hungery. After a few days I figured out when my hunger pains would start so then I would go ahead and plan it so that I would juice before I got hungery so after the first 3 days I didn't ever really feel hunger because by then I was on a schedule and knew when to juice which was before I started feeling hungry. In between drinking the juices I would drink water. If I had to go somewhere I would take my water. The first 3 days was the hardest but after I got past those 3 days it really became easy. After the 10 days was up (I had lost 10 lbs.)I started eating big salads twice a day while still juicing but not juicing as much...(the salads replaced 2 of the juices which was 32 ozs.) Oh yeah by the way I would drink 2cups/16 ozs at a time-so when I say I drank juices 4 times a day that means I drank 64 ozs. of juice a day)
Ok so anyway after 10 days of drinking 64 ozs of juice a day I started eating big salads. I ate spinach salads but romaine lettuce would good if you don't like raw spinach-just don't use iceberg because iceberg has absolutely no vitamins or minerals...it's a "blank food" that offers nothing for the body. I added whatever chopped veggies to salad that wanted. I even added peanuts to my salads. I used an oil based dressing...like light Italian dressing. For the next 5 days that is what I did. I juiced appox. 32 ozs. of juice daily and ate 2 big salads w/ chopped veggie & peanuts and my water) I was completely satisfied. After those 5 days I had lost a total of 17lbs. Then I started adding other foods in like potatoes, rice, noodles etc. after a few days then I added small amounts of good meat........I still kept juicing just cutting the juices out. By the time I was eating all foods again I was only drinking one 16 oz juice. I kept losing weight and eating basically whatever I wanted just in moderation...I even ate cake in moderation. I found though that craved healthier foods than before. So I wasnt wanting greasy fried junk etc. What happened was by doing the 10 day juice and then the 5 day juice/salad I "detoxed" my body......which in return revved up my metabolism. I had reached my ideal weight of 118 in just 6 months (Sept.2005 - March 2006) It has been nearly 1 yr later and I haven't gained any weight back. I eat whatever I want (like I said earlier though I crave healthier foods now), if I want desert or something else though I dont deprive myself of it because that only makes me want that thing more. LOL .So I go ahead and eat some in normal moderation w/ out going overboard.. I don't pig out but eat till I'm full. I only juice now every once and while not daily.(Every few days. Its like the veg. juice keeps me flushed out)
Anyway, it worked miracles for me so thought I would share "my secret" (LOL) w/ anyone who may be interested.
~Nicky
(p.s. I just wanted to come back in and edit a few misspellings and to add that of course we all go up & day a lb or 2 during certain times of the month...I do that too so when I said I haven't gained not even 1 lb that is w. the excepttion of the certain times of the month..ykwim?....I just meant I haven't gained any "weight back")
nickymom: thanks for that information. It sounds like it would be hard, I am an eater and need to chew something. You should be very proud of your achievement. I would have a hard time only doing juice (fresh) since I work, I am not at home to do it when every I get hungry.
Tina, I am such a dork, of course it is a kitten, I was at work and half concentrating on work and half concentrating on your photo! SORRY!!!!!!!!!
