Ok, so I'm sick of people from school no longer recognizing me because I've put on weight. I decided to start a diet. I'm doing Medifast. I've seen alot of ads lately and read some online reviews. Seems to work fast. I ordered mine over a week ago and officially started my diet last Wednesday, July 11. I've already lost 7 lbs.

Here are my stats:

Female
38 years old
5'9"
219 lbs

I'm now down to 212 lbs. I'll keep you posted!!

Rhonda,

That sounds like a great start - what is Medifast and how does it work?

Good luck to you! I love seeing posts of people who are on track and losing the weight. Very inspirational!

Carol,

Medifast is similar to Nutrisystem and Jenny Craig in that you have to eat their meals. The difference is that you lose more weight faster with Medifast. You lose 2-5 pounds per wekk with an average of approx. 15020 pounds per month. I'm impatient cause I want to lose 50 pounds fast.

For others, the web address is: www.medifst1.com

Hey everyone- status update as to why I haven't been here.
Short story- our landlords (mainly our landlady) are kicking us out of our house (illegally) and rather than deal with them (bcuz we don't have the time nor $$ to fight them) we are moving out. That way we don't have to deal with them anymore.
So after dealing with the stress of finding a place and then having a couple of them fall through, we found a place over the weekend. It's extremely tiny icon_surprised.gif , but I can deal with that since it's temproary.
So my cake stuff has to go into storage icon_cry.gif , which is fine since I haven't done much lately and the storage place we are looking at isn't too far away.
On 7/14 I was down to 143.4 lbs, but today I weighed myself and I was back up to 144 lbs, but that's my own fault for eating Chinese take out late Sunday night.
As soon as we are done moving I will put my weight loss ticker back up.

Ok, didn't want to make a big production of it - so I'm posting this in here (where it's not on the main page, and many people don't know this thread exists). Just wanted to tell y'all I won't be around for awhile - but I really want to wish you guys luck and continued success with the weight loss! So many of you have come so far, and should be so proud. And to those who are struggling - just keep the faith, it'll happen. Something will finally click, and you'll find that magic motivational factor that makes it so much easier for you.

It's been fun! icon_biggrin.gif

Thanks! I had a wonderful time, my parents are so wonderful! I'm so blessed to have parents and In-laws that are so amazing! My Dad really wore the kids out doing fun activities so they are still sleeping! Dad and I took a 6 1/2 mile walk on Sunday AM!!!! It nearly killed me! When we started out we weren't planning on a walk of that magnitude. I hadn't had anything to eat yet and just had a few sips of water. It was very hilly and getting hot by the end of the walk. My hands and fingers were so swollen I couldn't twist my rings with out it being painful. But despite all of that I am glad I did it, not only for the exersize but for the quality one on one time with my Dad. He's in his late 50's and is BUFF! Just like my brother. They both work out, lift weights and stay extremely active. Kind of helps motivate me! icon_smile.gif My Mom and I did the Leslie Sansone work outs a few times so I stayed on track with my work outs. I got on the scale this morning and it said, 173.3!!!!!!!!! icon_lol.gificon_eek.gifthumbs_up.gif I'm so excited!!!!! I'm back in the 173's AND it's in the low 173's! I'm happy and motivated more than ever! I really want to be in the 160's by the time school starts.

How are ya'll doing? Looking forward to catching up with you.

It was so nice to get home to DH and everything. DH looked pretty darn good when he pulled up in our van! Really missed him. While I was at Mom and Dad's I got to visit with one of my old high school friends. Her DH is putting her through hell. Been cheating on her for two years now with the same woman. She has finally just filed for divorce. She is 32, has two very young girls. She's miserable, depressed and confused. It's a long story so won't go into the details. Just made me so thankful for my Man and all my many blessings. Can't stop thinking about her though, I wish there was something I could do for her to help her in some way!

icon_lol.gif No secret, just doing the Sugar Busters diet. I try to work out at least 4 times a week but lately it's been about 3. I started Memorial Day but lately I feel like it's not coming off fast enough!

Oh, I wanted to make sure you knew about the sale at Lowe's on the Artisan Kitchen Aid for $150. I just ordered one last night, I got the Metallic series which go for $500 and I got it for $150.!!!!!! I really couldn't pass it up. So if you need one or just think you need an extra one like I did, then you might want to think about it!!! The sale ends July 26th.

Shipley,

That's why we're all posting here! It is awesome to have this support network. Everyone is so helpful and hearing everyone else's successes just motivates you even more. And reading when someone is struggling lets you know you're not the only one and a lot of times, when boosting up someone else you end up giving yourself the pep talk that you need, too!

Glad to have you here!

Hey all!! Where is everyone? Seems like this thread has bit the dust! icon_confused.gif Hope ya'll are doing well with your goals and in general!

I'm still the same old me. Working out every day. I got two new work out DVD's that I'm anxious to try. They are Denise Austin, one is "Shrink your female fat Zones" the other is "Personal training system". Iw as getting bored with the same work outs so thought I'd try something new. Also I wasn't seeing results fast enough. I'm about ready to go see my Dr. I'm worried about my thyroid. There has to be some reason why I'm having such a hard time. icon_cry.gificon_cry.gif

DH has been gone allot again so am alone. Seems to be the norm these days. He works all day then goes back in after supper sometimes. Other times he is just gone on business trips. I've been trying to think of ways to keep the kids and I busy so we don't get bored with out DH here. It's so hard sometimes when you feel like a single parent even when you're not. Today he won't be home till 9:00 PM. Won't be coming home for lunch either. He'll be gone all day tomorrow to. At least he'll be with DS at a Cub Scout Day Camp for the first part of the day, then he'll be going back in to work. Sigh. Sorry for the long rant. I know you have all heard this from me before. icon_redface.gif

You can vent all you want Anna! I've been wondering where everyone is too? Busy time of year I guess. I so know what you're saying about feeling like you're a single parent when you're not! Same here. It's sooo hard when you've got to do everything yourself and not have any time alone, not even in the bathroom!! icon_lol.gif Not to mention missing our husbands. icon_cry.gif

Good for you for sticking to your workout. I haven't been doing that great on working out, mainly because the kids won't let me do much. I have to get up pretty early to do it, I only did my workout twice this week. But I'm down 20 lbs. so I'm happy about that. Only 50 more to go! icon_cry.gificon_lol.gif

Anna, what's your weight loss goal?

Have a great day everyone!

Hi Jesse! Good to hear from you! I want to eventually get to 150 lbs. I'm 24 lbs. from that now. I was down to 173 but then the scale went back up and I have no idea why! I'm so confused and tired of it. It keeps going up and down and I can't seem to do anything to get it below 173! I think I'm going to the Dr. soon for other female problems so will talk to the Dr. about this to. I need to make an appt. but it's so hard to get to the Dr. when DH is gone all the time and I just CANNOT take the kids with me to an appt. with the Gyno!! I wish I had someone I could drop the kids off with but no such luck. I might have to wait till school starts, at least then I would only have one child to deal with. Sigh. I've been taking my measurments lately to instead of JUST weighing. I remember what they were when I was in high school. How depressing!!! I've gained 7 inches in my waist and an inch and a half in my bust and hips. I want to get my waist to 32". I was less than that in HS but Dr. Oz says that 32" is a safe number for women so I'm shooting for that.

But that's enough about me! Yay for you!!!! thumbs_up.gif 20 lbs down!!! That is so awesome!!!!! I'm so happy for you! You must be feeling so good about yourself! Are you loving the way you look? icon_wink.gif That's got to feel good!

That's my goal too, 32 inch waist because of Dr. Oz! icon_lol.gif That's so funny.
I feel good but I thought my clothes would be ALOT looser than they are, don't get me wrong I can definately tell but they still fit. I just think of all the weight I need to lose and I get a little frusterated but I do feel good about the 20 I have lost.

If I lived closer, I'd take the kids so you could get to the doc!

That is so sweet of you! I think we would be great friends if we lived closer! Seems like we have allot in common. That is neat that we both are listening to Dr. Oz and that we have the same goal! Do you have his book? The "You on a Diet" book. My MIL gave it to me for Christmas. I've been studying his book this week. It's so jam packed with good information it's a bit overwhelming. But I'm taking notes and taking my time. It's a good book.

Don't get discouragad about how much more you want to lose! It's important to remember to take things one day at a time. You have come such a long way, just focus on what you have achieved! You're doing so amazing! You can do it! I know you can! thumbs_up.gif

Welcome Gina!!! It's great that you went to the Dr. even though you thought you were fine. We as women cannot just assume things when it comes to our health. It's so important to get regular check ups!! I'm glad you did and discovered that you need help. Everyone on here is really encouraging and helpfull. For what ever reason this thread seems to be pretty slow right now. Don't know why. I'm confused. None the less, you are welcome here! Hang in there! What are your goals? That is awesome that your DH is joining WW with you!!!!!!!! What a MAN!!! I've been on WW for a year and a half. I've only lost 22 lbs. But if I did it as strictly as I should be it would be much more than that. I used to go to the meetings but had to take my 3 year old DD with me. That got old so decided to do it on my own. WW is great, I have learned allot and it really changed the way I look at food and my daily life. I WISH that my DH would do it with me to. It would be great to have such a support system. Also seeing him eat like he does makes it that much harder for me to stick to my goals. icon_cry.gif Can't blame anyone but myself though, he isn't the one that puts the fork to my face. icon_lol.gif I have about 25 more lbs. that I would LOVE to get rid of but have struck a brick wall that I cannot seem to break through. I'm about to go to the Dr. myself and see if there is some medical reason why. I want DRUGS!!!!!! icon_lol.gif Maybe there is something they can give me to help push me along a bit. Anyway, good luck at your WW meeting tomorrow! Will be anxious to hear how it goes! I know you'll love it!
