I can't believe I just found this thread! I could really use some support and encouragement. A little history is in order: I'm 5'6", 44 years old. I have 3 kids, 17, 11, & 7. I've always been heavy, between 160 and 200 lbs. In 2003 (200 lbs) I started Atkins and lost down to 144 lbs. I had a hysterectomy (thank God!), started running and working out. Felt like a million bucks, landed the job I wanted and got the money I felt I was worth. Over the course of a year or so I lost interest in everything, didn't feel like myself, didn't know what was wrong. Friend asked me if I was depressed...I broke down icon_cry.gif . I couldn't work out, I couldn't even look at my running shoes icon_cry.gif . Joints ached, fatigue, lethargia. Blood work/test show nothing wrong. Doc gave me Lexapro, walked around for 6 months feeling drugged. New Doc gave me Cymbalta, much better. I'm starting to feel like myself again and started taking my dog for longer and longer walks every morning. I've lost 5 lbs so far and I'm sleeping better. I supposed to have surgery for a bunion in late August, which will make exercise impossible for a little while, but hopefully I'll be able to run again when it's over. I really do love running, more than any other exercise.

I have a wonderful, supportive and loving husband....who likes my butt with plenty of extra pounds on it!! I need some encouragement from some folks who can relate and have similar obstacles and goals.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it thumbs_up.gif . Thanks in advance icon_rolleyes.gif .

Hi jumbosgirl, I've always heard it helps to have a weight loss partner, so it sounds like you and I can help each other along. What diet are you using or what changes are you making/planning to make to your diet? I had amazing success with Atkins, but it was admittedly hard to maintain. I lost the weight though and if I could have kept up the exercise I feel certain I could have kept the weight off. I have mild type 2 diabetes (don't need meds) so I'm supposed to stay away from the sugar and white carbs anyway. Sugar/chocolate is my nemisis...one M&M is too much and the entire bag is never enough. Loving to decorate cakes is certainly a challenge!

Hi all, been lurking for a bit and not posting. I am getting frustrated at not losing anything even though I work out and really watch my eating. I also have not been getting notifications of new posts.

Welcome to all of you newbies! This is a great thread we try to push each other and give encouragement and any insights to this life change we are all on a quest for!

Go to www.tickerfactory.com and choose the type of ticker you want. Follow the directions and prompts and then once you're finished there will be options for displaying it. Under the "cut and paste codes" choose the one that says "bbCode:". Highlight the text in the box, then right click it and chose copy. Go to your CC Forum Info page. Click on the "signature" section, then right click and chose paste. Submit/save the info and it's done.

Hi jumbosgirl, I know lots of people who have had success with WW. There is no group where I live. I thought about doing it online, but I don't think it would be the same as going to a group and I don't think I would do well with it. I did great on my own before, it's just getting over all of my physical challenges. I know the exercise is the key. Good for you that you are exercising thumbs_up.gif ! I bought a bicycle last weekend so I can have some other physical activity. I can even ride to the gym, it's less than 1/2 mile away. I'm working nights right now, which makes exercising even more of a challenge since all I want to do is sleep! I haven't weighed since last week and since you did last night I will do it this morning so we can be in sync. Have a great day icon_lol.gif

Hey everyone- just checking in....almost done with the old place, fingers crossed we get our security deposit without any hassles.
Well, I feel like I've lost inches despite eating like crap the last 2 weeks, I've just been burning it off with all the activity of packing, moving, and cleaning.
I went back to work on Monday and my appetite just hasn't been there, which is a good thing considering I'm not as active as I once was with the move.
I would post my weight if I knew where my scale was in my new place icon_lol.gif It got put into a box and who knows where the box is right now..

Got off work at 0600, forgot to weigh. I did good last night though and only snacked on an apple icon_rolleyes.gif . Sometimes on night shift it seems like all I do is eat tapedshut.gif . I'm off to run some errands and I'll weigh at the docs office (called a 'dispensary' here on base) and then post the change. There will be a change thumbs_up.gif , I'm thinking positive on that one icon_lol.gif !

Hello? Just checking in to see how everyone is doing. Haven't had any posts on this thread for awhile. I hope you are all doing well with your goals and with your lives in general!

I'm still in the 174's. The low 174's though. I'm trying to stay focussed but it's so hard sometimes, as you all know. Still working out but twisted my ankle so I'm not doing it as much as I was. I feel like I'm slipping into that mode again where I don't feel like doing anything and don't care what I eat. It's scary but can't help it. Every time I get into that mode, I pay for it! icon_redface.gifthumbsdown.gificon_cry.gif I'm trying to focus on the fact that DH's company Christmas party is only a few months away now. I like to look my best for that, in fact I try to be smokin hot that night! icon_wink.gif As hot as I can look anyway. I need to lose three lbs. to be where I was last year for the party. I'd like to be at least 5 lbs. lighter than that! So I've got to get going! So that's my new goal. 165 lbs. by the end of December.

Well, I decided I needed a little help maintaining the weight loss that I'm experiencing so I went and bought a bottle of hydroxycut this last Saturday.
Now I've only been taking 1 pill a day instead of 2 pills 3x/day, and I haven't been doing too much exercise since I'm still unpacking and I've already lost one pound, which makes me happy.
I haven't been very good about taking my supplements for my chronic mono and this last week I've been very tired and not feeling well. Sunday I was so tired I slept most of the day, I had no energy. Blech, I hate feeling this way.
TTYL- was just stopping in quick to check up with everyone on this thread.

You Go Mouse!!! party.gif

I also tried the HydroxyCut and had no luck. I did get some Relacore (1-2 tablets 3 times a day with or without food) and although I've seen little "number" loss on the scales, inch-wise I can tell a difference.
Odd how some pills work out differently for people! Hope you feel better. Your probably exhausted from moving too?

Well, I joined you guys a month agao and I'm happy to say I've lost 22.6 pounds since July 11 hen I started. I love this diet and I love, love, love the weight loss results. My husband started a week after me and he has lost 18 1/2 pounds. My mom started2 weeks behind me and she has lost 13 pounds.

It feels so good to actually be down 2 dress sizes. My cousin came over yesterday and picked up a bunch of "fat" clothes that I no longer need.

I've got 15 pounds to go!

Well, I statred in January "06 and by April I had lost 28 pounds. That also included me religiously going to Curves 3 days per week. That April I went on a cruise, ate everything in sight, and had a hard time recovering.

Now I started Medifast on July 11 of this year (5 weeks ago) and I have already lost 22.6 pounds. When I started on Wednesdy July 11 I weighed 219.6. I weighed myself this morning and I am down to 197.0. I have not being exercising although I plan to start next week. The one thing I can sy about medifast is that it really does live of to it's claim of fast weight loss results. And it's not just water weight, I have lost FAT! I'm down from a size 18W to between a 14 and 16 dependant upon how its made. I'm sorta at the in between stage where all the 16's are too loose but some of the 14's are a bit snug. I should be in a size 14 for sure within the next two weeks.

Good luck!

I have read a lot about medifast but then decided to go with Nutrisystem. How is their food?, it doesn't look too yumy to me.... I've heard complaints about that a lot.

Well, like any diet food, it took about 7 days for me to get used to it. The first 3 days were probably the hardest. Nutrisystem's food is so-so. With Medifast, their meals consist of soups, oatmeals, puddings and shakes which are all powdered. You have to a add water to them to prepare them. They also have bars. Overall, the soups, shakes, and bars have been pretty tasty. The oatmeals are a NO GO in my book. Oh yeah, they also have hot chocolates, cappucinos, and chai lattes which are good, too.

The way I justify it is like this- I can do anything for 2-3 months. With Medifast it is a win-win because you lose twice as much weight in half the time, and you end up buying less food. What that means is I spend far less with Medifast than I would with Nutrisystem and I lose alot more weight. Believe me, I'm the world's biggest skeptic but I can honestly say that Medifast is a winner in my book. I have myself, my husband and my mom to prove that it works FAST!

Keep me posted with your Nutrisystem results.

Hey, you just got me motivated!! I'm a big eater (I admit! icon_redface.gif ) and that's part of the reason why I went with Nutrisystem but hey, if I can handle nutrisystem for a month maybe I can go with medifast after that just to get thing moving faster.

Thanks a lot for sharing your experience with me!

I definitely wanted to share this because I know how weight loss can be a struggle for so many people. My biggest problem was that it would take sooo long to get the weight off that I would oftentimes lose interest. If you do decide to go with Medifast after your month on Nutrisystem, be sure to PM me. I'd love to tell you what tastes best and what to avoid. Keep me posted!!!
