Yeah, IMO DH should do 50% of the work with the kids. If he goes fishing all day, then the next day you should go fishing all day. Or whatever you like to do. It's only fair! At least in a perfect world. Sounds nice, huh icon_smile.gif If you have any suggestions of things to do with the kids that are free, I'm open to them. My problem is I'm not creative. We don't have a pool. Just sprinklers...LOL! Like I said, the heat limits us. We keep busy early mornings & late evenings. But in the middle of the day, we stay indoors. If we had $$ we could go to the zoo, movies, water park, museum...the list goes on. We don't live in a major city, but it's not a small town either. Well I better get ready for my wilton class. I'm in course 3 & this is our 3rd lesson. We'll talk later.

Just wondering where is everyone????? Are ya all doing okay? Hope so.

I worked out again today so am pretty proud of myself! Three miles, whohooo!!! Did well with my points today to even though I made a chocolate cake for my Dad this morning. First time I made the "Chocolate syrup frosting" recipe on this site. Also did the "Cookies and Cream filling" for the first time. Both are AWESOME!!!!!!!! WOW!!!! Not sure about something though. Can anyone tell me if the filling has to be refrigerated?? I assume yes since it has whipping cream in it. So it's in my fridge but it's taking up allot of room. Anyone care to enlighten me?

My parents are coming in the morning to visit and to go to my Son's t-ball game. I can't wait!!!! It's been SO long since they have been here. My Grandparents are coming to, he is 93, she is 88 so it's quite remarkable that they are going to drive the hour trip over here. She's been having health problems so am delighted that she is feeling up to visiting!! Happy me!!!!! Company always makes me crazy happy! icon_lol.gifthumbs_up.gif

Well, hope ya'll are doing great and hope to hear from ya! icon_wink.gif

anna, glad to see you so happy! good for you about the work out and the points! that's awesome!!!

i've tried that chocolate syrup frosting once, omg!!! yum!!! i've never made the cookies and cream filling, so i don't know about refrigerating, but i used the syrup frosting to make a chocolate cookies and cream filling once!!!

i just came back from the best anniversary dinner EVER!!! dh took me to this place called seasons restaurant (we actually try to go there every year for our anniversary, but i was sick last year, so we couldn't go).

i had the most amazing butternut squash soup (only half the cup, though. dh finished it), a salad with raspberry viniagrette dressing, awesome israeli couscous with vegetables and shrimp (had to take that home) and creme brulee! it made me soooo sick to eat so much food, but it was soooo worth it!!

it was a nice anniersary over all, even though i was alone most of the time (the boys took a 2 1/2 hour nap, so i was all by my lonesome for most of the afternoon, but it was nice mommy-time)

i also made my nephew's cake and chocolate letter and number for his birthday party and gumpaste palm trees for my cousin's birthday cake. it was a busy day! ddn't get to work out, though. i'm gonna have to run a marathon to work off all the food i ate tonight!

hope everyone is doing well. anna, enjoy your visit!!

Hey everyone! I haven't tried either frosting or filling, but I'm gonna have to, after all of your reviews. I would definitely put the cookies & cream filling in the fridge. I would do that to anything made with whipping cream.
Anna-I'm glad you had a great work out and point tracking day! Remember, one day at a time.
Jessica-Happy anniversary!! How many years? I'm glad you enjoyed it. You made my mouth water hearing about your dinner. Don't worry about the points for it. On such a special day, it's worth it!
I ran 6 miles this morning, but ate like a piggy today. I can't seem to coordinate healthy eating and exercise on the same day. I'm working on it. I have my job interview tomorrow at 11:30, so wish me luck. I'll let you all know how it goes.

Lisa, WOW SIX miles!!!!! Whoa girl, no wonder you ate allot today! You needed the nourishment! That's amazing! I'm working my way up to the four mile work out, can't imagine doing six! Maybe someday! icon_wink.gif I will be thinking of you tomorrow! I wish you much luck on your interview my friend!

Jessica, sounds like you had a wonderful Anniversary! It's great that your DH was so thoughtful and gave you such a special day! Really shows how much he cares about you and your feelings. I agree with Lisa, don't worry about the points you ate! You should be able to eat like that once a year with NO guilt! icon_lol.gif Work it off with DH! icon_wink.gificon_wink.gif

Anna- I'm a long distance runner. I run 3 times a week with my Aunt. We run 4M on Tues. 6M on Thurs & (hold on to your panties...) 12M on Sunday. You would think that I would be skinny. Instead, I have a "fluffy" figure. I LOVE my food. I run so much so I can eat well. If I can manage to stay in my WW point range and eat all of my activity points, I will lose weight with no problem. Like I said, its hard to do both at the same time. I did it before, I can do it again. I think with the stress of looking for a job and being broke, I take comfort in food. I hope I find a balance soon.

Lisa, I am very impressed! Something tells me that your "fluffy" figure would be my dream body! icon_lol.gif 12 miles would kill me! I love to eat to so know what you mean. I'm so there with you on that one. Sometimes it helps to think about how much time on the treadmill it would take to work off what ever food I am tempted to eat. That usually puts a damper on the craving! Also, sometimes I chew gum. It keeps my mouth busy. Or try brushing your teeth. Nothing tastes good for about an hour after brushing.

I'm off to bed, have a busy day tomorrow. So do you!! thumbs_up.gif

Is chocolate a comfort food?..... icon_lol.gif I'm sick of seeing "130" so I ate a bag of peanut M&M's today just because!!!!! Not the family size bag!!! icon_lol.gif I don't eat sugar/sweets at all and it sure felt good sitting on the couch savoring every one....... icon_cool.gif
I've plateaued out like you Anna but it's too weird.... the jeans fit nicer!!!! Everything really. Wish I had somewhere to run where I'm at. But I walk with my dog every evening around our 10 acres (that is all totally mowed now - only took 3 and a half days). Might start walking in the mornings also.

Ya'll have a good weekend and be careful - it's a full moon! icon_lol.gif

WOW! 10 acres. Must me nice icon_smile.gif Can you run on your 10 acres? Since it's mowed now...LOL! I bet your dog loves it. What kind of dog do you have?

Walking takes less time than if I were to run it and it's a relaxing time in the evenings.
Toby, my dog/boy/buddy, is a Welsh Corgi. He was 4 this past April 25th. He was born on my last day of full-time work so it was meant to be.

Hi Guys! Life is still busy - haven't posted in a while. Still unpacking and trying to settle in the new house. I'm at that bad stage where enough stuff is unpacked that I can get through my days with everything I need and I spend the day walking around the rest of the boxes, pretending I don't see them and that they don't need to be unpacked, too! It's hot, I'm feeling lazy and I need to kick my butt into gear.

I'm down two more pounds but haven't been working out regularly. Need to change that. I just caught up on the last few pages of posts and you all are inspiring me to get back into the game and start buckling down. Congrats to all of you with more discipline than me!

Lisa, welcome to the group! I've got two kiddos, ages 4 and 2 1/2. We do story times at Borders or Barnes and Noble in addition to the ones at the library and that's always fun. Our local AMC movie theater has free kids' movies in the summer which is AWESOME. It's every Wednesday for six weeks or so and each week is a different movie. Check and see if you've got any theaters that do this. My youngest is too young to really pay for a ticket for since he doesn't sit still but when the movie is free, I have no qualms about going and making it through the first 45 minutes or so and then leaving when he gets too obnoxious! It's nice, though, because everyone else there is there with kids and since no one paid for their tickets, they tend to be more gracious when kids get noisy or rambunctious. Plus, it's air conditioned so it's a perfect outing. Our zoo is free (and it's an awesome zoo, too, but it's about a 40 minute drive so I don't go too often). We do a lot of picnic lunches at the park and family walks in the evening when it cools down a bit.

I totally know what you mean about needing to get out and do things that don't cost too much $$$ because it totally adds up over time. And the kids get so stir crazy that they need to get out and be active!

Anna, I'm glad to hear that your DH is getting back to his normal self. Everyone has bad stretches and it's hard when your the at home parent because you tend to get stuck holding the ball most of the time. Keep trying to make sure you get time for you. I find that even small breaks bring me back to square one and refresh me and when I don't get them, the stress builds and I'm no fun to be around. Enjoy your trip and I hope your hubby remembers that it's YOUR vacation, too!

Hi all
I'm back, was in Atlantic City this week. They charge 20 bucks a day to use their gym, needless to say I did not work out this week.

Welcome Lisa, how was the interview? I hope it went well, it is funny that it is for LA when you are WW. But again it will give you a different view.

I cant remember everything that was said the the last 3 pages, so sorry if I forget to mention something that was pertinant.

I have great "in laws" I consider them my in laws anyway. We are not married, with the papers and all, but are in our life style and hearts. Any way they are wonderful. I just love my mother-in-law, she doesnt give her opinion without request first, she is also the driving force of my cake decorating!

Carol, glad to hear you are doing well. I remember those days when I would ignore the boxes that I didnt HAVE to unpack......I just moved them to the closets so I didn't have to ignore them any longer.

To those with kids, I know there are web sites that have free activity ideas. I dont have kids so cant recall what they were, just remember seing them advertised, then promptly forgot the specifics. I wonder if you try to search for free kids activities, or at home activities......something like that.

Doesnt look like Tina has been around......I will send her an email messge and make sure she is OK.

Well I gotta run and finish my day, have been soooooo busy today catching up on everything and getting more projects and all.

Everyone have a great weekend, I will try to post.

AUUUUGGGHHHHHH!! I'm totally overwhelmed. I've totally neglected my kids today. I don't know if I mentioned but I'm also a Realtor. I work from home. Business has been slow, that's why I've been looking for another job. Well guess what? I've been super busy in Real Estate this week. Just got a house in escrow yesterday, it's a 10 day escrow. Which basically means, I'm going to be working my tooshie off for the next 10 days. I haven't stopped all day. Well, just now for an e-mail break. I've got so much ahead of me for the night, including making a cake. I am EXHAUSTED!! Oh, and DH is playing softball tonight. Must be nice!! When he's here, he's usually helpful. But for some reason, today not so much. We definitely need to have a talk tonight. Or I'm gonna go crazy! I'm working all weekend too. I can't wait to get to bed tonight. Just needed to vent. Thanks for listening. Oh, by the way, the interview went really well. They will be interviewing all next week and making calls the following week. They're going to keep me in suspense. But I feel pretty good about it. Thanks everyone for the indoor kid activities. I'm gonna use every one I can. I'll get back to you all when things slow down. Off to bake a cake.

Hello everyone...I haven't been posting much. I'm kinda worn out feeling and overwhelmed with several things.
I'm going down to visit my dad and family in NC at the end of July and everytime I try to save up I end up having to pay some damn bill and the money just disappears.
I've been floating around 146 lbs...but I'm getting back on the ball this week. I'm going to be packing lunches for myself and my hubby as much as possible so that we don't go out to eat much. I'm going to work out tonight again while my son is at tae kwon do- I looking forward to it.
My plan is to also work-out Wednesday if I can get out of work on time, grab my son, and then drive back into Waukesha for his tae kwon do lessons.
Trying to pick up my house because our landlords HAVE to sell our house and they need to know a starting price. (If it's too high we aren't going to buy it.)
My depression has been acting up again, so I've been busy keeping my spirits up.
Everyone keep working hard, we can all lose it if we try.

flavacakes- 12 lbs is awesome! Just change up what you've already been doing and you'll kickstart your weightloss again.

I've been feeling much better. I just had to take a step back and re-group. Talked to DH and expressed my anxieties. NOW we're on the same page. I feel much better. On the cake topic, does anyone know how to do camouflage on a cake? I have no idea and need help.

I've done 2 camo cakes. They are very easy just time consuming. What do you need to know? I'd be glad to help~

Ya'll keep up the good work. I have been so busy that I haven't been able to do any workouts at all. If I'm gonna lose 10 lbs (or at least 5) before the ICES convention I better get going! thumbs_up.gif

I don't know why I stopped getting the notifications for this thread... *sigh* Took me forever to catch up.

I came back wondering if everyone had fallen off the wagon (like I did) and were too ashamed too post! LOL!

I have been a very bad girl, and haven't lost a single pound. I haven't gone to the gym ONCE since my original post (the first week of June). I suck. *sigh* BUT! I did figure out that i need to start doing a workout I enjoy - and the exercise I enjoy the most is dancing. But you can't do that much dancing in your home by yourself. (I have done it, but it gets old after awhile) So I splurged and bought a pole - for POLE DANCING! LOL! I looked to see if they offered classes in my area (they don't), so I broke down and bought one along with a video. (For those who don't know - it's the latest fitness craze - I'm not a stripper. lol)

I just paid for it today so we'll see what happens once it arrives. Too bad I don't have ,a man to benefit from this as well (what a show! BAHAHAHAHA!).

Good luck to the rest of you! I'll make sure I check back in more often - whether or not I receive the notifications.

I totally looked into doing that a while back! Oprah had a show about it and had celebs on who did the work out (teri hatcher, etc . . . ) and I can't remember the name of the celeb who started the craze but she was on, too. It was a totally inspiring episode, looks like a kick a$$ workout that works just about every muscle you've got. And I don't think you have to get a pole to do all of the exercises.

We've got a place out here that does stripper exercise classes but it's not a convenient place / time. I'd love to try it, though. Definitely tell us how you like it and how well it works!

It's totally not trashy - it's an intense, total body workout with the added perk of being fun (at least it looks like it). Plus, I'd imagine that once you get over the initial awkwardness of the moves, you probably feel totally sexy about yourself as you get better and start shaping up.

Oh my gosh! I hope you feel better soon. Aren't they poisonous? Do you have to do anything special for the bite? I've always been terrified of them because when I was a child I was told if they bite you, you're dead. I guess that's not entirely true...
