Jungle Monkeys
This order was basically for my Fisher Price jungle cake...but she wanted it monkeys only, as it is for her little girl's birthday. Also I added more pink since my Fisher Price one was for a baby boy. I'm not a monkey fan so I like my original cake better...but the little girl likes monkeys!

North Carolina Tarheels
Simple buttercream design...she sent me the cake to copy and I thought it was a bit dull (only white and blue) so took the liberty to add a bit of black to brighten things up. Looks alot better. Anyway this is a groom's cake for a rehearsal dinner. Chocolate cake with mint filling.

Small Beach Theme
Itty bitty cake (8" and 4") for a lady who is just having a small wedding with family but still wanted a cake. Gave me a design she wanted, but at the same time wanted beach/shells theme...so I asked her to revise the design a bit to make it go better with the beach theme. I think it turned out cute, looks better in person. White chocolate shells, brown sugar sand, some gold pixie dust too.

Ganache Squares
This was my first time assembling a cake "on site" and it was just over an hour away. I had trouble with my ganache being the right consistency for piping the borders so some of the borders look yucky. The room was dim so hopefully they won't notice mistakes...however the dim room made for bad pix!

Curious George
Did this pretty much as a favor for someone, I'm not super happy with it, but its ok. I have a previous George cake but it was requested to be like the older George rather than the movie George, so to some it may not look as recognizable. So at least this one is maybe more "younger generation" friendly.

Bows And Daisies
Just a birthday cake I did for a client...had issues with the squares...I only have one set of square pans and wanted to bake all at once, so baked 11x15's and cut them out. But my squares didn't cut very nicely so my cake is not real even...some views are worse than others. She didn't seem to notice though.

Ballerina Cake
I actually like this cake pretty good (except the red insides of the slippers YUCK), esp after I had some real issues tying all the colors together. However when I went back over my client's emails I realized they wanted things sticking up all over the cake! She mentioned a 3D ballerina and slippers and bows and flowers but she wanted them sticking up. I remember thinking "I'm not sure how to make that look good" but then I must have forgotten to try to make it work, after I made the 3D ballerina.

Tinkerbell And Fairies
The little Disney fairies were the perfect size for this cake...she wanted a sketch ahead but the cake was ordered the week before, then I had to order the fairies, and I didn't feel like doing a rush job sketch, so told her to trust me on it LOL. She told me what she wanted, so hopefully this was it. the only part I don't like is Tinks "pixie dust" which looks more like some kind of out of place fondant worm than pixie dust! And its royal icing anyway! haha.

Coach Handbag
Hmmm I like Louis Vuitton better! I need to come up with a stencil for this one, this hand-drawn stuff has gotta go. Plus this was a bad cake weekend...I went to take this out of my fridge and the shelf above it clipped the handle and totally decapitated it. I got desperate and tried fixing the strap with super glue (yes with proper warnings!) and also some pink royal icing I had on hand, not sure if it survived. Did give small refund but had already undercharged!

Floral Tiers
Had to put this together in a little "storeroom" type place where the catering had set up shop for this small outdoor wedding. Florist provided flowers. The picture I was working from showed a big rose off center on the top, but I used the flowers provided to me, plus the edges of my cake were not as wide as the photo. Now it looks like the topper is just "off centered" but really it was supposed to be that way. Hopefully it stayed put when they moved it.

Bowling Ball
I was nervous for this one, did this for a prominent wedding planner in Philly for his own personal party he was having for a friend...the cake is chocolate, filled with whipped ganache and covered in chocolate bc, then ganache, then the fondant, to look similar to his friend's bowling ball. Its hand carved, larger than the Wilton ball pan.

Deer Hunter Party
This was for my son....the neck of the deer was not blended in as well as I would have done for a customer but my son was helping (he did most of the "grass") and so we just kinda whipped it together. The antlers are melted chocolate. I also made plain white sugar cookies with Antonia's royal icing for them to color with food markers, and made deer hunter lollipops.

2010 Ferrari Millechilli
This is a groom's cake...I always have a problem with my carved cake looking ok but when the icing and fondant gets put on, it ends up kind of fat and squatty. Maybe eventually I'll learn to make the cake a little TOO skinny and small and the fondant will make it just right.
