Sweet 16
This cake gave me problems...mostly due to the fact I was foolish enough to allow the customer to order vanilla pudding for filling! *sigh* This is a variation on a Pink Cake Box cake but it definitely is not up to par as far as the photo I was working from. Hopefully they customer likes it okay and hopefully it stays PUT through the party...my hub is delivering it soon.

Stitch
3D cake done for someone who wanted a very special cake for her very special, special-needs daughter....she gave me a stuffed toy she wanted replicated. She was very excited. I have actually never watched this movie so I have no clue what this blue guy is supposed to be haha. All cake and fondant...mostly airbrushed. Had some internal structure issues with this one but I think they more affected serving rather than stability. Although I was glad I started a day early because the arms didn't want to stay put and I had to prop them overnight with royal icing.

50Th Anniversary Cake
This was done as a 50th anniversary cake for some friends. First time airbrushing stencils, thought it would make such a nice gentle pattern to go with their gold theme. I like how it turned out, although someday I'd like to make a bit more realistic gumpaste roses. I generally buy them just to save time but this time I made them. I actually think it looks nicer in person, esp as the curtains they used are a shiny "damask" type gold and it goes so well with everything!

Juicy Couture
This was a relatively last minute cake, ordered this weekend by a person who really wanted one and I figured I could fit it in. It became a great source of stress last night. haha. My grocery store edible image did not turn out very pretty and I had to hand tint the pink...ugh...and then I had major issues with the straps and then because of those issues I had to patchwork a few other issues....so it wasn't a good night last night. Hoping the straps make the 1 1/2 hour drive the customer is driving and that he is pleased enough for what he paid. And then today its raining so I don't even have a nice bright room to take the pic...wahhhh!

"wooden" Fish With Football
Last year I did this guy a wooden fish in a coffee cup (he collects handpainted wooden fishes). This year we decided to go with a wooden fish with an Eagles jersey and a football. I added the yardlines to be the age he would be turning. The fish is cake, the ball is RKT. The board is fondant blotted with airbrush color.

Teddy Bears
Here's the cookies to match the cake requested by the customer to match the party plates.... these cookies were cute until they started bleeding red-onto-white and also the noses got messed up in the wrapper...had to unwrap all of them and neaten up the food pen with q-tips and let them dry and repackage them. I was unhappy with the bleeding colors but the customer was fine.

Pillows For A Princess
This is a birthday party, she is doing something with Disney princesses for something (I don't remember what) but her husband wanted the cake in that theme but had no ideas as to what...so I asked him about a pillow cake and he liked the idea so here it is. Flowers are just a gumpaste spray I had extra from the past. Shoe and tiara are gumpaste (shoe is from cutter).

Cirque Mechanics
This is for a mom taking her son and his friends to a Cirque Mechanics acrobat show "Birdhouse Factory". It was difficult to know what to do! She did send me a cake Duff did for this theme, but his was HUUUUUGE but I took some ideas from it and then made my own design. I watched all the YouTubes on it and it looks pretty cool. I wanna go!

Happy Engagement
Probably should have used a contrasting color background. Oh well! Thanks to Stacey's Sweet Shop for giving me the sugar diamond to use in the ring! Lid is foamcore and gumpaste/fondant. Love the border from First Impressions molds...a new toy I just got! This is a design the customer found online so if its yours, let me know! Although the ring is my own design and I made changes to the original cake in some ways as well.

Princess Castle
Another of my regular castle cakes but I think the background makes it look a bit nicer...also made to sort of go with the princess party theme colors (pink castle and purple accents). The only thing I really don't like is I used an aerosol can of pearl dust instead of my airbrush and I felt it went on terribly uneven and heavy....I guess I can say I meant it that way. Oh well. Anyway cake is buttercream with impression mat bricks and turrets are ice cream cones coated in melted candy. Fondant accents and flowers.

Stripes & Daisies
Here is a dummy cake I did for an upcoming bridal show...iced in royal icing. Flowers are silk for sake of time and money. Separators are foam disks covered in ribbon. The icing is a very pale green. I do apologize for the ones who saved this to their favorites before...I had to end up reloading a photo that was much clearer than my first one, and we were not able to save the other favorites. Thanks for looking!

Zumba Shoe
You learn something new every day! Never heard of "Zumba" until last week. haha. And now I've made a "Zumba shoe" cake! As I was cutting the shoe I realized I was really cutting out too many servings, so made the other decorations cake (instead of just fondant plaques) to help it go as far as she needed it to go.

Telescope
This cake feeds about 40 so its fairly large...a real tripod with a base attached to it...a bit of styrofoam to round out the bottom of the scope. Its not as perfectly straight as I like...it seems to dip slightly on each end, maybe I had trouble smoothing the icing or something, not sure what happened. I think I could have done the eyepiece neater too. Hopefully the customer likes it! Delivery scares me just a tad but it should go okay!
