Ball Cake - Ferox
This cake was inspired again by Colette Peters.... which I think all cakes are :) It's called Ferox, because it means arrogant in Latin. And I was arrogant, thinking I could make this cake easily. Some things went wrong though, causing the bulge in the upper cake. Luckily the happy couple didn't mind :)

I made this cake for an art exhibit in maastricht. It was huge: 14-10-8-6-3 inch, and a lot of work since alle the layers are different types of cakes with a variety of fillings. I was so nervous when I deliverd the cake. Everyone was watching when I was stacking the cakes and piping the borders, so it looks a bit crooked (?). It didn't really matter though, since the paintings and other art pieces weren't that smooth and flawless also. I'm still not very happy with the result, but I am proud of my first huge cake :) Hope you like it!

Ernie
This is my first real 3D attempt :) His belly and legs are made of cake filled with lemoncurd, his head and arms are made of rice crispies. The internal construction was a little hard to figure out, especially since Ernie is about 14 inches high and top heavy. I hope you like it! Special thanks to Sesame Workshop Circle c2010
